Excellent Boot
March 20, 2013
I purchased this boot in size 8 after reading others' reviews on this particular Sorel product. I normally wear a size 8.5 in all my footwear. I am SO glad that I took the advice of others regarding the sizing of this boot. There is plenty of room in there when I wear a heavy sock. I wonder if I could have purchased a size 7 (since this boot does not come in half sizes) but I am 100% happy with the size 8. This boot is very warm, very bulky (though I still managed to drive a Honda clutch in them, with some effort) and overall excellent for all my uses. I bought the boot for ice fishing and goose hunting primarily since I get cold feet very easily but also wanted something that was high and easy to slip on for shoveling the driveway, going to the store, and brushing off the snow on the cars. I love this boot so much! My dad has an old pair very similar to the Sorel Glacier and after "borrowing" his for the past 3 years, I finally decided to invest in my own pair. His have lasted him close to 15 years so far and I know that mine will hold up just as well. This boot would not be my number one pick for hiking, but it has been used for hiking just fine. When I am worried about my feet freezing, this boot is my go-to pick.
