Love these boots
July 11, 2011
These boots are comfortable, waterproof, and toasty warm! Great for extreme cold and messy slush. I usually wear a size 9 and the boot is true to size. I like to walk a lot, even in winter, and my only concern about the boot is that there is a ridge that I can feel around my ankle (where the shoe part of the boot meets the upper part) that might take a little while to break in but hasn't been too concerning so far. The boots are also attractive.
Pros: fashion and functionGreat Cold Weather Boot
December 16, 2010
Growing up in Northern MI, Sorels were a part of your every day wardrobe. Twenty years later, I was pleased to find that Sorel has continued to produce quality cold weather gear. My feet are typically the coldest part on my body so I'm grateful to have received these boots as a gift- they're WARM, waterproof and quite stylish! I typically wear a 7.5 and ordered an 8- they fit perfectly.

No regrets
February 13, 2011
I shopped around for several weeks looking at every brand and style of boot I could and these boots are excellent. The fit is perfect and they're very comfortable. I'm a size 8.5, so I ordered an 8 and they are right on. I wasn't sure about the lace-up style, but it turns out that the laces are more for looks, so you can have them fully laced (you actually need to have them laced for the outer leather to stay in place) and they easily slip on and off. They're perfect for someone who has to go outside with dogs several times a day. They're also a perfect height for keeping my legs warm and the snow out. And they're stylish too! I definitely recommend these boots.

These boots are amazing.
December 07, 2011
These boots are amazing. They are lightweight, comfortable, INCREDIBLY warm and keep my feet dry. I was out in deep snow today for about four hours and was warm and dry the entire time. They are not as bulky as other Sorel boots but not as 'slim' as they appear in the photos, still very cute.
Pros: light weight, comfort, dry and comfortableWrite a review for the Sorel Cate the Great Snow Boots here.

I 'm really pleased with the over all look and fit of these boots, I took a size 7 because that's what I usually wear but they are slightly big especially because i have a narrow foot I probably could of taken a 1/2 size smaller

Buy them quickly before they're sold out!!
November 04, 2010
I bought these in black, after much contemplation over whether to get the gray, glad I decided on the black...they are so nice, and dare I say...even dressy (as dressy as waterproof snow boots can get). You really could wear them with a cute dress for a party in the mountains and get compliments! I plan on living in them on my ski vacations to Colorado, wherever we go throughout the trip. They run very true to size in my opinion, I am a size 10 in boots, the ball of my foot is a little wide and these accommodate me perfectly, however I will not have room for a very thick sock. Those of you who are familiar with Sorel boot liners know you don't really need to wear a sock to keep your feet toasty, and certainly a thin boot sock will suffice, so only order a size up if you want to pile on the super thick socks! If you're like me and hate socks, order your size, and plan on wearing nice thin merino or silk socks with these, your feet will be nice and warm!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueGreat boot!

Love, love, love this boot! Color is beautiful, very cozy and warm, but it did not fit well on me. I have a wide toe box and narrow heel and it was tight in the toe box and too roomy in the heel. I so wish I could've kept them, but they were returned due to poor fit.

Great Boot!!!
February 11, 2011
Super cute boots!! True to size.....and extremely fashionable...The boot is comfortable and enough room to wear over your jeans. You won't be disappointed!!
Pros: Great designsuprisingly let down
December 05, 2011
These boots were extremely warm & cute, ran a little on the large side, but very good for WI cold winters. I must have gotten the 1 poorly made pair because along the back seam on 1 of the boots after wearing them twice, I noticed a large tear in the suede about 2 inches long! i dont know if it had been there the whole time but for the price I paid for the boots & for the quality Sorel is known for this was/is unheard of. thankfully they were accepted back for a return! I couldn't believe that happened since Sorel is such a great quality company-I must of gotten a bad pair, but I didn't want to risk it so I just returned them. Its too bad cuz they really cute and super warm too! I would definately of kept them otherwise!
Pros: warmth, style, Cons: questionable quality-could've been a flukeLove the boots
April 24, 2011
I live in the mountains in northern Colorado and was looking for easy on, fashionable, warm winter boots. These Sorels work wonderfully. I can slip them on to plow out the snowed-in driveway or wear them out in the evening. I specifically wanted a higher fitting boot due to our large snow drifting. The front laces allow me a snug fit when needed. They are warm, feel light, fit well, and have a bit of a moutain girl look that fits in well here. You will enjoy them!
Pros: solid winter boots, fashionableTerrific Boot
March 13, 2012
This was my 3rd pair of sorrel boots and like the others, I love them. I have wide calfs and they fit well. I wore them in wet sloppy snow and my feet stayed dry and comfortable.
perfect mix of style and rugged snow boot
December 21, 2010
I was very happy to find these boots. I've been looking all over for a cute snow boot that I can wear for a full day outside in 10 degree weather for shopping, lunch date, carrying the kids with me, and whatever else may come to. These booted are great. They are stylish, very warm and I want to wear them almost every day in the winter.. I would definitely recommend their boots!

love the boot
November 27, 2011
I absolutely love the boot. They did not run large at all for me. I wear a 7 1/2 or 8 so I ordered a 7 after reading all of the reviews. My toes are just about at the end. They are a little too snug and definetly would not work with socks. Planning on exchanging them for an 8. I hope those work :)

Cate the great
September 29, 2010
These boots are great! They run small so you might want to order a size up. I can't wait to try them out, they really are even better in person. Let it snow!
May 08, 2011
I just received these boots yesterday and though they are somewhat wider than I expected, I will still keep them and I think that they will fit better after I add some insoles. They seem very warm and are taller than my previous Sorel boots, but I think for next winter they will be great for long walks with our dog.
Cool look - but yes floppy
January 27, 2012
These boots are very nice looking and made well. I have only had them a week and worn them a few times out and about. Not had the test of the Michigan cold and snow but I think they will be fine. My only problem is .. I bought a 1/2 size up to a 7 (normally a 6.5) but in boots, especially outdoor, I tend to go bigger for extra socks. NOT needed here. As one reviewer stated these are not built for women. The toe box is just too wide. Granted I think I run regular to narrow, if anything, but this it alot! I am keeping them for two reasons. One - they really do look cool - not like all others. And two, I think with some extra socks they will be great outside - as long as I am not planning on hours and hours in them.
made for men
December 27, 2011
Don't the manufacturers get it? Women are not Men. They have made a beautiful warm boot. I want these so-o-o-o-o bad, but they are too wide and just flop around on my feet. Come on manufacturer's...... make a warm boot that fits a woman's foot.
Cons: too wideWrite a review for the Sorel Cate the Great Snow Boots here.
great boots
December 19, 2010
these are great boots. comfortable , warm, waterproof, and stylish. they do run a bit large. i am a 6.5 and ordered the 7 which were a bit too big. i have only had the boots a week but have worn them almost every day. so far they seem to be well made and durable.
Pros: Great designBuy these-no regrets!
February 10, 2012
I can't say enough good things about these boots. Super stylish, warm and I always want to put them on. Heavenly for après ski or board time, great for trudging around town and through snowbanks and I can tell they're going to last forever. I get so many compliments from random strangers wondering who makes them and where they can buy them! I seemed to be in between sizes but got the larger size, stuck a cushy insert into the sole and couldn't be happier. Get them-money well spent!
Love 'em, but run big
February 05, 2013
This boots are great, but run BIG. I am usually a 7 to 7.5, so I ordered a 7. They are floppy & need to exchange for a 6. Other than the size issue, the boots are well made & look fabulous. Highly recommended!!

Beautiful Boot
February 17, 2011
I was disappointed when I tried them on because where the bottom of the boot joined the leather the seams dug into the back of my ankle. I feel that the boots were defective as it was more painful in the left boot than the right. What I loved about the boots was the suppleness of the leather and suede. The laces were very easy to use and put on. The liners were very warm and beautifully detailed. I also liked the way they came up over the boot, it made pulling them on very easy. I am very upset that I have to send these back.
Pros: Great design, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of useAWESOME
November 06, 2010
I Love them! Practical YET Cute! A must for anyone that lives in a winter wonderland!
Pros: Build quality, Lasts foreverDefinitely not true to size, but GREAT snow boot
July 06, 2011
I wear a size 9 in almost all tennis shoe brands, high heel brands, and sandal brands. I ordered a size 9 in the Cate the Great Snow Boots, and not only did they feel HUGE when I tried them on with regular socks, but they felt huge with thick winter socks on. I even compared them to my size 9 UGG boots by lining the soles of both boots up against each other, and the Cate the Great Snow Boots were 2 inches longer than my UGGs, though they both claim to be a 9. I then lined the soles of my size 9 sandals and tennis shoes against the Cate boots, and the same thing! I just sent the Cate the Great Snow Boots back to Altrec.com, but I am re-ordering in a size 8 because I absolutely LOVED how warm they are, the faux-fur detail, the lace-up front, and the thick waterproof soles! Basically, this is a great snow boot, but definitely runs quite large.
Just What I Needed
July 18, 2011
I purchased these boots, because I am moving to Sweden. I needed something that was waterproof and can take temperatures below zero and this boot is both! It is stylish given the circumstances. The boot is bulkier than I expected. I wear a 8 1/2 and I bought a 8 after reading the reviews about them running large. The 8 fits great with room for large socks.

Very, very wide
April 12, 2011
Well made in the sense of the suede and the strong bottoms. However, I bought these boots for cold weather trekking but found them to be very wide - more then they should be for socks - and flat on the bottoms with little to no arch support. My feet are not narrow at all, and it fit at the front fine (with the sleeve on, not without, so the size seems to be correct. I bought a 9 - you might try an 8.5 or even an 8 if you are a 9. My feet are not that curved either, so needless to say it was a big disappointment. Buy at your own risk as you will have to pay the return shipping.
Warm and cozy
December 14, 2011
This is my first pair of "real" winter boots since I was a kid. They are really warm and still pretty fashionable for Canadians who want to keep their toes! I usually wear an 8.5 so I ordered a 9 so I could wear them with winter socks. They are a little big and so warm that you really dont need to wear thicker socks. I found them a little heavy though.
Pros: super warm, Cons: heavyFantastic Purchase
January 31, 2012
These boots are not only warm but fashionable. They arrived quickly too which was fantastic bc I was too excited to wear them! I wear a size 7.5 and ordered an 8. They are slightly loose but perfect when wearing thick winter socks. I definitely would not have ordered a 7. Buy them! You'll love them!
Pros: comfortable, fashionable, warmGreat Snow Boot
August 11, 2011
I am moving to MA... Can't wait to try these in the snow. They are non-skiddish and sooo comfy! I like that they are tall, stylish and I can tuck my pants in. They run a little large. I normally an 8-8.5 and I bought the 8 which is perfect, 8.5 would have been too large. Thanks Altrec for a great price!

MUST BUY FOR THE WINTER!!!!
March 23, 2011
If you are looking for a warm, comfortable and stylish snow boot, this boot if most definitely for YOU!!! I could not be more happy with this boot! They fit under my black North Face ski pants and look super cute with skinny jeans and black leggings. A must buy buy for the winter, you will not be disappointed. I wear a 7.5 and purchased an 8, the 7 was a little snug so I would suggest going up a half size.
Warm Boot!
April 07, 2011
A friend has this boot, and recommended that I go down a size since they pack out a bit. I dropped from a 10 to a size 9, and am so happy that I did because they fit perfectly! These boots are warm, keep my feet dry in the slush, and are even wearable for dog walks. Plus they are great everyday boots with jeans, and I have received many comments already on their look. Definitely a chunkier boot, so not ideal if you are looking for something sleeker. I am so glad that I purchased these for our long winters though!
Pros: warm, waterproof, cute, Cons: heavygreat boots
January 28, 2011
excellent boots for the current snowstorm. keep my feet warm and dry while wading through snow. so happy with my purchase. worn with thin socks and runs true to size. comfortable to put on over my relatively large calves.

Nothing these boots can't handle
February 08, 2011
I live in Chicago & bought these boots a few weeks ago. I initially purchased them as they were featured on Oprah & thought they were the most stylish snow boots I had ever seen. But just last week, Chicago experienced "Snow-maggedon" - the city was slammed with over 20 inches of snow & below zero temperatures. These extreme elements were no match for these boots. My feet stayed warm, toasty & dry, not to mention kept me lookin' good. I'm convinced there's nothing these boots can't handle.

i am so impressed with the quality and the style of this boots. It is warm and manageable to my feet and comfortable too! I definitely buy another Color and planning to buy another sorel boots For my husband.
warm and cute
September 23, 2010
So I bought these as summer is coming to an end, anticipating a cold and snowy winter like last year. These are really warm when I tried them on (like all sorrel boots). They are a bit clunky but will be great for trudging around in the snow this winter. They have good traction and waterproof sole. The leather goes down pretty far so I don't know if these will stay dry (I think they will) and I think this makes them really cute. Overall glad I found these and ready for a snow!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Cons: CostGood and Bad
December 28, 2012
Bought these as a gift, but thoroughly examined them here on arrival and have received feedback from the wearer. They seem reasonably well constructed for what they are, which is a fairly standard rubber pac boot bottom mated to a fashionable leather top. They are tall and they seal tight enough they should repel powdery snow and wind nicely, up to a point. I was somewhat disappointed with the "Waterproof" claim. Perhaps this is a common thing in women's boots as opposed to men's, but in a men's boot when I see Waterproof, I can generally expect that the boot can tread water up to very near the top of the boot. Apparently in many women's boots Waterproof means only up to the ankles, regardless of how tall the boot is. (Had the same issue with a pair of Ecco Rise GTX I purchased recently). So, in slushy conditions, with melting as in when coming inside, or with anything deeper than a few inches, these boots will let water pour in quickly, and of course keep it there. Luckily you can remove the felt liners to dry them out in a reasonable amount of time. The bad part being that the felt bootie is unlined and will shed fibers onto your socks or whatever, and they will lose mass when washed. That said, they appear to be very warm and comfortable. Went up a size for wider feet and the initial fir was good, and still a little snug when pulling them on past the ankles, but will have to get a few more miles on them to see how much the felt relaxes, and perhaps add in some thicker insoles.
Pros: warm, comfortable, Cons: only waterproof up to a few inches, unlined felt inner bootieAlready own the Sorel Cate the Great Snow Boots? Tell us your thoughts.

I am moving to Europe soon and looking for good winter boots. They are so stylish and not the typical boot everyone else is wearing. I wear a 7.5 and ordered a 7 because they do run a little big. The quality is very good I think except for one thing, the material that the laces loop through. It's thin and looks like it could break eventually...
sorel boots...a must buy!
April 09, 2011
I waited for months to get these boots...for them to be on sale and it was well worth the wait! I now know I would have even paid full price! They fill many needs. Not only are they just adorable to look at, but they are 100% functional! They are warm and movable. Not at all like other boots that don't bend or move when you walk and then are uncomfortable. I did order a size 9 first (I usually wear an 8 1/2 or 9). After getting them and reading other reviews, I exchanged them for an 8 and they fit just right! Hope you love yours too!!

One Great Boot
December 11, 2011
I purchased these boots first because of how good they look and with the hope of warmth and water & snow protection. As the product claims, these boots deliver. They are great out in the snow and my feet stayed completely dry. In addition to function, these boots have great style and compliment my working attire. I would strongly recommend these boots. They provide a great feel and fit and with the quality of materials also deliver a great value. I'm excited to wear them often this winter, bring on the snow!!

Not as big as they say
July 28, 2011
I was really excited to find these online since they were completely sold out last year and bought them in the middle of a 102 degree day! I am a true size 8.5 and based on previous reviews, ordered a size 8. I was so disappointed when I tried them on though because they didn't run big at all. Unfortunately I had to return them.
Awesome boots!

I have just recently discovered Sorel boots and they are by far my favorites, I own 3 pairs already! The Cate the Great boots in the Stone/Tusk color are my most recent purchase and they're fantastic..super cute look that everyone checks out and compliments, keeps your feet nice and warm ( my feet are always cold unless its hot out) and they are just so comfortable! These boots are so awesome I am thinking about getting them in the Tobacco color as well...

Great winter boot
May 16, 2011
These are a very nice, high quality boot. They will be great for shoveling the deep snow we get here. Feel very warm, as previous reviewers mentioned they are a wider, heavier boot, you are able to slip right on, no need to lace up. Can't wait to use them next winter!
Cate's Design Is Great!
April 27, 2011
In the cold and snowy Wisconsin winters, Cate's design has proved to be more than just fashionable, but structurally sound and warm as well! I've already gone through several pairs of boots this winter as they weren't able to hold up against the salty sidewalks, icy roads, and feet of wet snow. But Sorel's Cate the Great Boots, with their high quality materials and snug fit are keeping my feet warm and dry. Know that these seem to run a size big; I am usually a standard 8, but my size 7 Sorel's fit perfect.
Nice fit, but a little chunkier than expected.
September 04, 2011
When I first pulled these boots from the box my overall first impression was "wow, these are big!" They're very cute, and a little bit flashy which I like. They're not a plain Jane shoe. When I tried them on, they fit very well. I am a 9.5, and ordered the size 9, and they fit fine, I think they will be ok without socks (my preference). I have a wider calf, and these fit nicely without looking misshapen or obviously unlaced. My one hesitation is the overall chunkiness of the shoe, in particular the foot part (the calf doesn't appear chunky). In the photos it looks much slimmer. I will keep these though, because they are cute, and they've gotten great reviews when it comes to cold weather performance (it's still in the 80s here, so no chance to test them in the snow). The fur trim is nice, and not over the top like Sorel's Joan of Arctics. I think they will look very cute with leggings or skinny jeans. Buy these if you want to stand out from the crowd and add a little pizzazz to a dreary winter day.
Pros: stylish, warm, comfortable, fits wider calves, Cons: chunkynot true to size
April 15, 2011
This boot I had to send back. I ordered a half size smaller than my regular size and it was still HUGE! My foot would slide up and down when i would walk in the shoe and it its remarkably heavy. The inner lining comes out but the boot is even bigger without it. I do not recommend this product.
Cons: too big, heavyLove! ...however...
October 03, 2012
1st- THEY FIT TRUE TO SIZE! I'm a true 10 and ordered a 10 - they fit perfect length wise. They are WIDE but even with my narrow feet, they are still comfortable. 2nd- THEY'RE NOT THAT HEAVY! They have a little weight to them, but they are a boot, so yes, they will weigh more then you're flip-flops... 3rd- They are super cute on (even on a size 10 foot) *** I was disappointed though, because when I opened the box today and there was a small scuff on the shoe and a black stain on the tongue on the shoe... not very impressed with the condition they arrived in... may send them back for that reason... so the rating is on the quality of Altrec's website rather then the fit of the boot. ***
Pros: true to size, not too heavy, Cons: stain on shoe, scuff on shoeCate is Good....
April 30, 2011
I really was impressed by the design and overall fit of these boots. They are very well made and I got a wonderful deal, especially considering I didn't have to pay tax or shipping. I will definitely recommend this site to my friends. However, like others have mentioned before, they tend to run a bit wide. I will now just have to wear thicker socks. I wear a 10 and the 10 fits perfect in length. The only drawback that I see, is that they are a little less feminine than I had expected...which I think has to do with the wider toe box. Other than that, I am satisfied.
Super warm!
January 03, 2011
This boot is an awesome winter boot.. both stylish and practical for a Northern Michigan winter! It's a great boot that you can just slip on and run out to shovel the piles of snow that we get! It runs a little larger and wider, so I would recommend a smaller size. I usually wear a size 9, but ordered a size 8 and it fits perfectly. I love this boot, its super warm and so cute!!
