Just got my boots and they are really beautiful. I trust Sorel Brand to keep my feet nice and warm:) Altrec seems like a good company and I will definitely order from them again.

I bought these boots for when it snows. They are waterproof and warm, and give ample protection from exposure to cold. My heel slips up and down in them, which is fine for awhile (I do have a narrow heel), so they are clompers and will improve with breaking in. I recommend the boots to be worn with wool or silk socks, not cotton rag, or blisters could form. They serve the purpose I got them for very well.

I live in the Northeastern US, and I need warm, waterproof boots that keep me comfortable and dry while still looking attractive. I absolutely love my new Sorel "Joan of Arctic" boots--they are practical and cute (not to mention the perfect height), and I will wear them everywhere from Steeler football games to hikes around my favorite local lake with my two labs! My biggest challenge will be wrestling the boots away from my Ugg-wearing, teenage daughter who already commented that the Joan of Artics are "totally adorable with those funky, fur liners!"

These boots are awesome! I have been wanting these boots for awhile but so I went to various websites to read as many reviews as possible. They are better than I would have ever imagined. I did heed almost everyones warning about going down half a size. I normally wear an 8.5 and I went down to an 8 and they fit perfectly. I'm so happy with my purchase! Not including how great Altrec is! I got these boots 2 days after I ordered them and they said it may take a week. This isnt the first time I have ordered from them and it definitely won't be my last.

When I first tried on these boots, I thought they seemed a bit heavy/bulky. But, I think it was just because I don't usually wear boots. Once I walked around with them and got used to them, I fell in love! They are perfect and everything I hoped them to be! They are a little roomy which is perfect for a thicker sock and layered pants for extra cold days. (Now, I am small in stature, so roominess may vary). The boots aren't just practical for cold/rainy/snowy days, but fashionable too! I get complements everywhere I go.

I really love my new boots. The sizing runs big. I wish that would have been mentioned on the website, since they don't come in half sizes. My recommendation would be to order a half size smaller. Even with 2 pairs of socks!

Great boots but they DO run big

I should have read the reviews first. These boots are totally fabulous but they do run big. I'm typically a size 7.5 or 8 and I ordered an 8. With big socks in and the liner inside they fit with a little bit of room. Without the liner though they are way to big. I will be returning the 8 and buying a 7. Save yourself the trouble of return shipping costs and go a size down.

elegant but rugged and great for all outdoor activities. very comfortable and my feet did not get cold in them on a 30 mile snowmobile trek.

I bought these boots for my daughter for when she goes to college near Pittsburgh, PA. She loves them and so do I. they are so warm and well made. Will order again, if we need other warm clothes.

Great winter boots, water-proof and very cute. They do run a whole size bigger and I am usually a 7-7.5 and took a 6. It fits just right with a regular sock, but since the boots are so warm you won't even need a very thick winter sock. I do wish they made half sizes, but after breaking the boots in a bit, the size 6 is now perfect. One other issue is that they are somewhat uncomfortable to drive in, but overall they are great for a snowy and slushy day.

I bought my wife these boots and she loves them. Tough to chose between the brown and black because they're both really nice looking. It's my first time ordering from Altrec.com and will definitely use them again in the future!

These boots are incredible! I live in Philly where we just got 23 inches of snow over the weekend. I tromped around the city in them Christmas shopping, and not only did they keep my feet warm and dry, but I got a compliment from a stranger. They run slightly large--I usually wear a 7 1/2, but ordered an 8 and it is a bit big, so should have gone down to the 7.

Pretty Good~

These boots are pretty good...They kept my feet really warm after the recent storm we had and I wore them to walk about a mile. The only problem is that the curvature created in the form for the leg is below my calf and then cuts into my ankle. I did get some blisters & hope they will break in with time. They are quite stylish though~

Very Nice boot. I have a very wide foot and there is more than enough room for a thick sock.
