My husband bought me a pair of these boots 20 years ago when we moved from southern Michigan to Northern Michigan into part of the "snow belt" Last year the material started to fray in the back. They seemed a little big, so this time I bought a smaller size and they are perfect. You don't need thick socks to keep your feet warm. I walk my dogs 45 every day and wore my old ones from November to March. Great boots!

Just got these boots a couple of weeks ago and I have already fallen in love! I have problems with keep my feet warm and these boots have really done the trick. I ordered them a half a size big to make room for socks. Sorel continues to impress with with the quality of their products. I would recommend these boots to anyone who spends some time outdoors in the winter and wants to keep their feet toasty warm.
Such a good buy

I'm so excited about these boots. I'm pretty sure I'll have them for 20 years + I have issues with having cold feet even in my own house, but i took these boots out last week while ice fishing in 10 degree weather and they held up beautifully. My feet never got cold and the shoes weren't so heavy that I felt like I was being bogged down. I give these 5 stars.
Snow lion -Tall boot , fits big

Warm and tall. The snow won't sneak in. Might be a tad slippery for steep terrain, as the sole is not flexible or deeply lugged. Returned because ran easily a size large. Would be great for trudging through deep snow in fields.
Pros: high, warm, Cons: sole slipperyBest I've ever owned

I bought these boots in 1993 when I was without a car and walking several miles a day. In Minnesota the air temp can get to -30F or lower and I never had cold feet. I have also stood outside in deeply subzero temps waiting for late buses and my feet, even though I 'm standing relatively still, have stayed warm I also have walked through snow drifts that come up to my hips and never got snow inside the boot. My calf measures 17" and the drawstring at the top opens the boot wide enough to get my large layered leg in, then snugs up to keep the weather out, and the lacing at the foot keep the boot securely on your foot no matter what is tugging at them. I have worn these every winter since 1993 and they still look great. A soft soapy cloth cleans them up quickly, and an old sock stuffed with paper and some baking soda keeps the liners fresh. If you need a tall boot that will protect you in extreme winter conditions, this is the boot to get. My only concern is whether I will be able to find replacement liners for these wonderful old gems!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueAWESOME boots!!!!!!!!!

I bought these boots because my other Sorel boots finally wore out after 12 years of use. I go hiking almost everyday in the mountains and put on 4 to 8 miles a day. Sometimes the snow is really deep so I put snowshoes on over these boots. My feet always stay toasty warm. The traction on the Sorel Snowlion boots is wonderful. I am looking forward to many hikes with these boots. I have tried many other brands of boots and none even start to compare with the Sorel Snowlion boots.
Pros: last for years., always keep my feet warm.Boot to narrow at the opening.

The boot is VERY well made, but very difficult to get on and off as it doesn't open up. You have to either have very skinny legs to just slip in. But if you have normal size calves and are wearing sweat pants or jeans.... forget it. You'll break a sweat trying to wrestle them on.
