The original pack boot that defines the warm and hard working snow boot, the Sorel Caribou Snow Boots for Women are winter footwear that virtually last forever for discerning outdoor enthusiast. Whether shuffling the snow bound village streets, snowmobiling, or snowshoeing (also the original snowboard boot) its durable leather upper is lined with a 9 mm. ThermoPlus® wool felt liner that is removable and replaceable for a life-time of toasty toes. Protecting the feet of millions, since 1972 this Sorel snow boot insulates through deep snow, harsh storms, and the biting cold of a long winter. Life everlasting, this classic boot's felt liner is designed in an enhanced moisture-wicking four-layer construction that insulates while reflecting timeless body heat back to your foot. The Caribou's™ seam sealed full grain leather upper with fleece trim tops a 100% waterproof handcrafted rubber shell below the ankle that keeps rain, snow and slush from creeping in. Its streamlined Aerotrac™ outsole might look a little different from the heavy lug sole of the classic Caribou™ boots, but the claw-like grip remains the same, especially on polished ice surfaces. Temperature rated to -40° F, the Sorel Women's Caribou Snow Boots are the choice of hard working, always playing locals everywhere.

Great Boots
January 27, 2012

These boots were a gift, put them on the they are very comfortable, they keep my feet warm in the cold Michigan winters with no problems at all. They look great and I wear them around town and out in the back country both the black color is great. I wear a size 71/2 shoe and they size 8 boots fits me perfect. I would recommend these boots to everyone!

Pros: warm, looks great

I am a fan
January 21, 2012

I ordered my shoes in 42 EU. Before buying the shoes I tried the PAC model in a store where I found out that a size 42 EU will be best for me rather than a 41 1/3 EU. They told me it will widen around my toes but around the hurting place. I am happy that I did not buy a smaller size since I can put a pair of sole in the boots to make it fit better. The price was really good much cheaper than here in Denmark. They are warm and I am ready for the winter in Denmark. Furthermore they are a little bit heavy, but they are perfect for the winter weather!

Pros: cheap price. warm.
Cons: a litlle bit heavy

Little Clunky
January 17, 2012

I bought these for my wife for the holiday. I was supprised as to how "clunky" of a boot they were on her. She said that they felt really heavy and was a bit of a drag to wear. We return these and got the Ugg boots in black. I am sure that they would stand up to the elements, as they did seam to be really well constructed, but just a little too much for a lot of walking here in manhattan. They definitely were stylish, but these seem to be good for people who are in snow 24/7 vs manhattan were it may snow 4-10 times per year. Hope that helps.

Good Heavy Duty Snow Boot
January 13, 2012

I purchased these to wear in the snow 1-2 times a year. I think they are very well made. These are definitely heavy duty snow boots. If you are looking for something to just play in the snow, these may be a little heavy duty. I usually wear a size 8 1/2 or 9. I ordered an 8 and it is a little too small. My toes touch the front. the rest of the boot fits great. They are as advertised and well made.

Great Pair of Boots
January 04, 2012

Had sorels before and used my sisters after a few years away from snow and was reminded how good the boots were. Ordered these boots in preparation for the winter in ND but thankfully, haven't had a chance to put them to use. Seem to be great quality and true to size. Ordered a 9 and seem to fit fine.

great pack boot for all winter occassions
December 27, 2011

From walking, snowshoeing, running errands, shoveling the driveway etc etc etc. these are a great boot to do just about anything in. I have a very narrow foot and with the right sock and cinching this boot works for just about anything November-April. i have had the same packs for about 6 years now and swapped the liner out too. Great to know they last forever!

Good Boots
December 26, 2011

I look forward to having warm feet while working outside. I need warm, durable boots when working outside with the cattle in the winter. I normally wear a size 7.5, so I ordered an 8. The 8 is small. I'm currently waiting on my size 9 to arrive. Very eager to try these boots.

Sorel Boots
December 26, 2011

My husband bought his pair in 1980 and I finally gave in and said ok get me a pair. Best thing I have ever done. They are warm, keep my feet dry and are easy to walk in through wet and snow.

Pros: tall to keeep snow and wet out.

Not comfortable for me
December 20, 2011

I usually wear a size 6.5-7 (with wide feet) so decided to purchase a 7. They fit me well with thick socks. However, after a day of walking in them, they hurt my ankle bones and I realized they were too heavy for me. If they fit you and you want heavy snow boots, then they will probably do a great job. They're just not for me, and I will be returning them. I purchased them to walk during the Chicago winter and snow.

Great Boots!
December 17, 2011

I bought these boots for my wife's xmas present. I know she's gonna love them. They are the real deal, perfect for playing in the snow with the kids. Be sure to try them on first somewhere. They seem to run a size smaller.

Haven't tried them yet but....
June 02, 2011

they seem comfortable. I live in the desert and it's been 100 degrees so I haven't been able to try them out. I ordered the Sorel Cumberland model first and my feet were freezing. I hope these are better. I ordered these in a 5.5 (I usually wear a 6) initially after reading the reviews but they were too small. I reordered in a size 6 and they have some room but not a lot. I could wear a thin sock but nothing more.

Just bought these shoes for next winter as I heard another friend rave about how warm and versatile these boots were. I bought them and they came in the mail soon after I ordered them. Looking forward to wearing them. They already look and feel great!

Can't do better
May 17, 2011

I bought these boots after a name brand boot worn in a cold and snowy Chicago winter did not keep my feet warm or dry as they should have. My husband wore Sorels for years and suggested I try them. Had I known they made womens sizes I would have bought these years ago! I wear them for shoveling and walking the dog. I am usually outside for at least an hour and the midwest gets VERY cold (below 0). With these I can stay out longer and don't notice the cold. If you're concerned about fashion, don't wear these and stay indoors. For you down to earth gals that want to be outside-buy your Caribous a bit bigger to accomodate warm socks. These are the best! And frankly-I do look kinda cute wearing them!

Pros: sturdy well made, comfortable

Great, sturdy boots
April 28, 2011

These boots are definitely a bit clunky, but if you're looking for something warm and sturdy that is going to keep your feet warm and dry this is it! I just purchased these for what will be our first winter in Wisconsin and I'm very pleased so far (though, granted, I've only been wearing them around the house). They are comfortable and seem to be breaking in well. I usually wear a 7.5 and ordered the 7's. They are snug (can't wear anything more than a thin sock) but I think they will stretch out and I doubt I'll need thick socks with how warm the boots are. I only gave 4 stars because I haven't really put them to the test yet, but I'm sure they will be great this winter!

Stands as one of the warmest (Best)
April 20, 2011

Oh so warm boots!, my wife told me. She works as a school noon duty attendant in Alaska and spend 2-3 hours on frozen ground every day. These boots do the job perfect for her. I first gave her a pair of bunny boots which did the job for her but did not meet the fashion image (and I was told so). So I got her a pair of these and she loves them. She wears a size 6-1/2 and I purchased a size 6, they fit perfect with her wool socks, she has also used them with her snow shoes adding a liner sock. She also mentioned one day adding a packet of toe warmers (10 degrees), and they got really warm. Thanks Altrec for carrying a quality Pac boot, plus the sale price was sweet! I also have a pair of the men's version, these Pac boots have been around for a long time. The bobbed soles are great for control on slippery surfaces.

worth getting
April 19, 2011

I work mostly outdoors and I borrowed my friend's pair of Sorrels. I loved them and wanted to purchase a pair of my own. They are fantastic and keep my feet warm which is the most important in what I do professionally. You can also put skinny jeans on and still look good. They didnt run big on me. I normally wear a 7 1/2 and ordered a 7. I had to exchange them for an 8.

I bought and wear a size 7 and there's plenty of room for thick wool socks. Not too heavy considering it's a big boot. Plenty of room for your toes to move around, but still true to size for me.

Women's Caribou Snow Boot
March 22, 2011

I purchased these boots for my picky granddaughter after she saw them on the site. She is normally a size 8-81/2. Given the size information on the site and from other reviewers, we ordered a size eight. PERFECT! She loves these boots and is a very happy camper. Didn't hurt Grandma's reputation any either.

Pros: very stylish and cute

Nice nice boot!
March 11, 2011

I bought these boots for my wife before our Yosemite trip. It was 17F there with a lot snow. These boots worked great on snow. They gave excellent traction on both snow and ice made you felt like walking on the dry surface. They are also very warm, with a nice figure that you can separate the inner layer out for quick drying or just use inside house! My wife loves it! The water-proof ability is also great! The upper leather material is very water repellent after 3 days of using these boots still looks like unused! One important thing to remember: order one full size down!

They just didn't fit
February 26, 2011

I like the boots overall, but they just didn't fit. I have wide feet with high insteps. I could not get my foot into the liner! The liner material is a heavy felt that has no stretch what so ever and they do not open or adjust. I ordered my regular size. I felt that the Next full size would have been too big and clunky.

Boot big, liner small
February 26, 2011

I bought these boots a few weeks ago in an 8, which is what I normally wear. The wool liners are very tight and hard to get on. They are so tight that I can't wear socks with them. The boots however HAVE to be worn with the liners because with just thick socks the boots are WAY too big. So the liner is a must. With the liner the boots are about what I would expect. I think I am going to buy a pair of just the wool liners in a size bigger so I can wear some socks with them. I am hoping this helps the boots fit better. NOTE: I went to a local store that carries these and tried the size 7 on and they are way too small! So this is the size I guess I need. They are super waterproof and very warm. Have no complaints there.

Love my new boots.
February 22, 2011

Received my new boots today just as expected. They are great. They are difficult to get into when you first try to put them on, but soon loosen up. I wish they came in half sizes. I normally wear a size 7 shoe, but from previous reviews, I ordered a size smaller. The 6 fits, but a 6 1/2 would allow me to wear a really heavy sock on super cold days. They feel heavy coming out of the box, but once on they don't.I am totally sure I will not need to buy another pair of winter boots again.

Snow boots that get the job done
February 21, 2011

After tromping around in 10" of snow my feet were still warm and dry. These are definitely clodhoppers -- heavy, bulky, hard to get on and off, but the effort is worth it. I expect to have these for years to come, especially since they aren't an every day winter shoe -- snow only. Regarding sizing, I normally wear a women's 6-6.5. The 6 was huge on me and uncomfortable to walk in. I picked up the 5 and now they're perfect.

Needed to Replace Old Sorels - Glad I Did!
February 14, 2011

I purchased this pair of Caribous to replace a pair of Sorel boots I had for the past seven years. My old Sorels were the sturdiest portion of my winter gear for years, but they were finally beginning to fall apart. I was eager to find a new pair of the same reliable quality. I think the Caribous are even better than my old model! They are tall enough to ward off splash stains from slush, thickly insulated to keep feet warm and dry in the nastiest of winters and they have great traction for the days the slush turns to ice. I'd recommend these to friends and strangers alike.

North Country warm!
January 17, 2011

I'd had my old Caribous for over 16 years when they finally needed replacing. I love that the liners come out so I can hang them by the wood stove to dry, and also that I can replace just the liners when they get worn. These boots have great traction and feel very solid. Yes, they're solid, which doesn't mean light, but I knew what I was getting- a warm and dry pac boot for northern winters, and these are perfect. They are a little taller than my old Sorels, which is great in keeping snow out. I'd read reviews on sizing and went with a 9 when I usually wear a 9.5. The 9 fits just right and allows for wool socks. I know I'll enjoy these for years!

Excellent Purchase
December 27, 2010

This is the third winter for my husband's Sorel boots and the first time he has not worn his boots out in one season. This being the case, I decided to get Sorels for myself and I could not be happier. They are sturdy, warm, and comfortable. I debated about the size since I usually wear a 9.5 or 10. I had read that the boots can run large, so I purchased the 9. I made the right choice. At first, I was worried because I thought they might be too snug, but after a few wearings they have loosened and are just right. I can wear a pair of thick socks in perfect comfort. I am very pleased that I went with the 9 and not a 10, which surely would have been too big. They are not too heavy on my feet. I am very happy.

Does not run large.....
December 16, 2010

After reading numerous reviews that the Caribou ran large and to order down, I did just that. I normally wear a women's 8.5-9 and ordered a size 8. I recieved them today, tried them on and my toes were cramped even with lightweight socks. So, now I have to return them to Altrec and wait for my replacement boots that are on backorder. (No fault of Altrec) The boots are well made and high quality- great value for the money. The customer service at Altrec is awesome, I have ordered several items from Altrec and I have never been disappointed.

This is the second pair of Caribou's I bought - I love them. They are durable enough for everyday use but sassy enough to wear to and from work. I think the boots do run about a size bigger (I wear a size 8 and ordered size 7 with relatively perfect fit).
