Spyder Men's Challenger Jacket:
Perfect for big mountain ski resorts and guys who tend to wear a helmet when skiing, Spyder's Challenger Jacket has a rugged polyester dobby weave outer shell fabric backed by a waterproof and breathable Dermizax 20,000-mm. membrane. It's packed with many of the same high-end ski features found in Spyder's top-shelf Legend Series jackets, but the Challenger Jacket uses Thinsulate insulation instead of the technical Fiberfill stuff. Up top you'll find a removable rollaway hood, but this head wear isn't the same as Spyder's detachable Heavy Weather Hood, so it's best suited for unanticipated, short-duration precipitation. If you wear a helmet, the rollaway hood won't be a necessity. While the Challenger is in the same Quest collection as Spyder's Avenger and Leader jackets, it has an internal powder skirt that doesn't detach like the other insulated jackets. If you don't have a pressing need for those kinds of details, the Challenger is a great fit at a lower price. It features zippered vents beneath the sleeves and an internal mesh goggle pocket with custom chamois lens on a retracting shock cord. There's also a cool internal radio pocket with a weatherproof antenna opening. Just like all the best Spyder jacket designs, the Challenger offers quality detailing and a reflective Spyder logo on back. It's the real deal with the same great Spyder fashion elements and waterproof protection--at a price that's a lower than the Legend Series jackets.
