Spyder Women's Fuse Jacket:
Ideal for big mountain ski resorts and women who don't like to wear jackets with storm hoods, Spyder's Fuse Jacket with removable insulating vest features a stretchy twill weave fabric backed by a waterproof and breathable XT.L 10,000-mm. membrane. It's packed with many of the same high-end ski features found in Spyder's top-shelf Women's Legend Series jackets, but the Fuse Jacket uses Thinsulate insulation instead of the technical Fiberfill stuff. If the rain does start to dump, you can opt for a removable rollaway hood on the removable vest, but this headwear isn't the same as Spyder's detachable Heavy Weather Hood, so it's best suited for unanticipated, short-duration precipitation. If you wear a helmet or accessorize with a Spyder hat, the rollaway hood won't be a necessity. While the Fuse is in the same Quest collection as Spyder's Charge jacket, it has an internal powder skirt that doesn't detach like the other insulated jackets. If you don't have a pressing need for those kinds of details, the Fuse is a great fit at a slightly lower price. It features zippered vents beneath the sleeves and an internal mesh goggle pocket with custom chamois lens on a retracting shock cord. It's the real deal with the same great Spyder fashion elements and waterproof protection--at a price that's a lower than the Legend Series jackets. If you don't need a detachable vest but you would like more insulation, check out Spyder's Women's Lightning Jacket.
