Spyder Davos Pant:
When you break down the primary essentials required in a ski pant, it's simple: You need to stay warm, remain dry and have unsurpassed mobility. Plenty of ski outerwear companies hit the first two requirements, but usually at the cost of mobility. Spyder's top-of-the-line Davos gets everything right and gives discerning experts some of the best performance and comfort features available today. This season Spyder redesigned the fabric and applied a four-way stretch Primeflex that's backed with a fully waterproof and breathable Dermizax EV 20,000-mm. membrane. It's a material that moves easily and keeps you dry without hindering vapor transfer. The Davos has a removable high-back suspender design with a mesh insert to facilitate vapor transfer between inner layers. Waterproof zippers along the thigh area open up for extra ventilation through a breathable mesh gusset. Waist adjuster snap tabs let you fine-tune the fit even without suspenders, but keep in mind that the fit is in standard S/M/L/XL/XXL sizing, not fitted like other ski wear (some skiers like this because it gives them more sizing versatility for layering). Lower calf zippers give you easy access to the adjustable buckles and straps on your performance ski boots, while rugged scuff guards made from abrasion resistant plain weave nylon help minimize wear from errant ski edges. If you want the real deal, the Davos is your pant.
