Description
The smallest, lightest SteriPEN®, the Adventurer Opti, uses a revolutionary optical eye to sense the water. The patent-pending technology ensures safe use and provides purification in even the coldest of waters. The new optical sensor doubles as a convenient LED flashlight. The AdventurerOpti retail package includes 2 non-rechargeable (disposable) CR123 batteries and a neoprene case with belt loop. Device works with containers with minimum 1.75 in. diameter opening (ie Nalgene wide-mouth bottles). The Adventurer is half the size of the SteriPEN Classic. Because it's fast (48 seconds for 16 ounces), light (under 110g/4 oz), easy and effective, it's perfect for hikers and campers who value powerful products in small packages with no loss of effectiveness.

Excellent tool for travel

I used the SteriPEN for a month long trip to Peru in August and was very pleased with the results. The SteriPEN is way easier to use than other water filtration devices I have used in the past, light and easy to pack. I took along a wide mouthed Nalgene bottle and was able to sterilize my water for the day every morning, saving me quite a bit of money on the plastic bottles everyone else had to buy. It was nice knowing I was not contributing to the enormous amounts of litter that these bottles produce. I never got sick from the water, and I am looking forward to using my Steri pen for backpacking and hiking trips this year, and hopefully, more traveling overseas!
