I recieved this bag and it is great for what I need. Plenty of space for my laptop, external hard drive, paperwork, and anything else I need to carry. I travel a lot and this bag seems very durable and I look forward to using it for years to come. I would also like comment on the customer service from Alterc. Outstanding is the word I would use, they were extremely helpful and polite when a shipping issue came up. I would for sure use Altrec again!Pros: Great design, Build quality
Great potential, just a few problems

I really like this bag, and wanted to like it more, but it falls short in a few areas. The size is perfect for my MacBook Air 11 to ride in the padded compartment and my iPad in the pocket just in front of it, and the chargers for each in the front pockets. The material seems durable and the construction solid. The look is just what I want: professional without drawing too mich attention. However, two things are going to keep me looking. First, this bag has to be carried with the shoulder strap. I probably would use it that way, anyway, but if you want to lose the strap and just carry it by the handle, you're not going to like this bag. It includes one fairly small handle, but it's placed off-center, so that if you actually use it, the bag hangs down at an angle rather than straight. I consider the handle more a convenient way to grab and position the bag rather than a way to carry it. Second, and worse in my opinion, is the way the outer flap is designed. The buckle is situated in a little inverted V in the flap, and so to unfasten it, you slide your hand a little bit under the flap, and the way the material parts there, it ends up allowing the flap to curl up. I have had my bag about two weeks now, and the flap, which was originally straight, now no longer lays flat, but curls up along the lower edge, being more pronounced near the buckle, but continuing along to each edge. I'm thinking about cutting the seams and inserting a piece of hard plastic inside the flap, to help it retain its shape, but I've never had a bag that required that before, so I'm convinced it's just a bad design. I've looked a long time for a bag like this, and I wanted to like it because it looks great and fits my gear so perfectly. But I think I'm still going to be looking for the perfect MacBook Air 11 / iPad bag.Pros: perfect size, Cons: Bad design
best part of this bag is the laptop compartment..

When i first got it, i was a little iffy about the color. I got the olive colored bag, it looked a little faded but overall the look is very sleek nd professional looking. The deep front pockets prove to be very roomy and able to hold the essential mac charger and headphones and even keys as well all in one pocket. So i would say yes it is very durable. the olive color is very much a army green color nd the cushioned shoulder strap is comfortable nd not too bulky..best part of this bag is the laptop compartment.. super cushioned nd protected. fits my 13 inch mac perfectly nd comfortably. the fact that the bag does not stand up straight on its own is a small con compared to the super cushioned compartment that holds your dear laptop lol.. enjoy!!Pros: Great design, Build quality
Fantastic Shoulder Bag

I've carried laptop bags for years. The Scout is hip, super comfortable to carry and protects my new Macbook 15" from my own bumbling self. I get a ton of comments from friends (and strangers) on the bag which is kind of cool, too. I'd highly recommend!
Love this product

I think this laptop carrier is totally hip and attractive. Plus it is very functional. There are enough pockets and supplemental areas to carry all types of accoutrements - room for documents, cords, keys, pens, paper, cell phones, etc. I really like how compact the case it. I'm a small person and my laptop is small. The carrier doesn't overwhelm me.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Ease of use, Great value
Nice bag, just not what I needed

I was looking for the perfect laptop bag to carry with me all over Europe on a six month trip. I needed something small and light, moderate storage for other items, water resistant, durable and doesn't look like a laptop bag. Yes, a tall order to fill. This bag fit most all of my needs. The construction and padding are really nice, it doesn't look totally like a laptop bag, but still kind of does. My issue came with the size. It is a fairly small bag compared to others, but I am a thin 5'8" woman... and it just looked big and awkward on me. It would be fine for city and work use, but not for my big travels... I felt like it stuck out too much and looked so big on me that it was obviously a computer bag. So yea, just not the bag for my exact needs, but a really nice bag nonetheless. I ended up going with a locally made leather satchel and a super padded sleeve for it. Hope this is helpful info :)Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value
Good Solid Bag for 13" Macbook Air
September 09, 2011
I like the size and look of this bag. the Macbook Air fits perfectly inside. You should be aware that you can only carry standard size paper in the bag - legal length paper will not fit unless you fold it. the only thing that I might have wanted to see is some way to secure the two front pouches - perhaps with Velcro or something. Maybe I am being paranoid but I don't feel altogether comfortable yet putting equipment in the pouches (e.g. an external hard drive) for fear that they may fall out when the bag is open. Otherwise, the bag is great.Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: Bad design
Love this Bag!

First shoulder bag I've ever owned that doesn't kill my shoulders and neck. Even loaded up with my MacBook, paperwork and cords, it still is super comfy. I carry to business meetings and travel with it. Best bag ever!
