Exped Orion Extreme Tent:
Venture into mountainous regions and extreme latitudes with this sturdy, freestanding expedition shelter. The two-sided, silicone-coated ripstop nylon rainfly offers a high resistance to tears and UV light and has strategically placed windows to promote airflow in stifling, snowbound conditions. The exoskeleton design allows this tent to be pitched with the rainfly covering the canopy. This feature prevents the canopy from getting wet during set up and allows easier set up in difficult conditions. Composed of ripstop polyester and no-see-um mesh, the canopy is breathable and lightweight. All or part of the canopy can be detached from the exoskeleton and pushed aside to form an open, sheltered area for cooking, sorting gear, or playing cards. Twin doors with separate vestibules allow easy entry and exit for both occupants. The vestibules extend to the ground on both sides to cover equipment and keep wind out; one offers a small loft for drying wet gear. 9 mm DAC Featherlite aluminum poles stay rigid through most conditions and offer excellent rebound in extreme weather. The tent canopy is suspended from the pole structure, allowing the rainfly to be set up alone as a lightweight shelter or the canopy to be pitched individually on mild nights.
