Excellent Winter Boots
February 01, 2013
Purchased the Teva Chair 5 boots given that they were advetised as being lightweight, warm, and with gripping winter soles. They fit the bill for my upcoming ski trip to Engelberg, Switzerland. Regarding the weight, they are truly light compared to anything else on the market today and collapse nicely to gain space when needed...as in my case with a luggage. I've been using them for two weeks now and really like them. The fit is fine (medium width) and the sole has excellent grip. If there is one complaint, it would have to be that these boots are not as insulated as advertised. When the temp hit 20 deg F, I could feel my feet getting cold...even though a small tag that came with the boot mentions that they are good to -25 deg F. I think somehow/somewhere, a temp conversion went astray as these boots are surely not designed for -25 deg F. Nonetheless, they are excellent boots that can be comfortable walking the wintery streets of the world to playing in the snow...so long as temperatures don't drop to low.Pros: comfortable, grippy sole, Cons: not well insulated
