very high quality, detailed design & construction
June 30, 2003
Besides high quality fabric, advanced suspension, hydration pocket, two side pockets - one mesh, one draw string. This pack has lots of details that sets it apart from other packs of this class. Two haul loops at the bottom plus 2 velcro tool straps attached to the daisy chain. When used together, makes very easy storage and removal of tools like ice axe, ski/trekking poles. No more fumbling around trying to stuff them under compression straps. All compression and gear straps have little velcro straps sewn perpendicularly onto the ends. So extra long lengths can be rolled up and velcroed and be left with only a little customized slack. So you don't have 20 straps dangling in the wind to confuse you while you attempt to adjust your load and fumbling around trying to blindly grab at the appropriate strap. Each shoulder strap also has an easltic belt-width loop with a reflective NorthFace logo sewed on. Not sure what these are for yet, but whatever you secure to these things are going to be within easy reach. Also a D-ring is attached to each shoulder strap. The pack even has torso size indicators (with size scale and pointer arrows like the iginition timing marks on your car!) for precise adjustment. This is a good pack for a weekend or multi-day trip.
Great pack!

North Face has finally gone back to good packs for a good price. The pack has many useful pockets, and many useful features to make it even better. (like the hydration system feature, etc...). The pack is also very easy to adjust, and very comfortable. Good pack.
