What do you do when you design the perfect expedition bag for adventure travel? You improve upon it. What do you do when your modifications don't improve the design? You revert back to the original successful standards. Recently The North Face switched from the new NEO KT 1800 face fabric back to the proven polyester PVC tarpaulin of old. All of the other features remained the same, which means this is the perfect domestic duffel for toting the family swim gear down to the local pool or lugging extra clothes for that daylong workout session at the gym. The large-sized capacity of 7000 cubic inches provides immense load potential for weeklong travel excursions in any season and even serves as the perfect cargo bag for moving into the summer cabin. Up top the D-shaped top opening features a highly durable zipper and a wide design that facilitates fast packing and unpacking.

This bag is so durable and great. I use it to travel...I use it to camp I use it to store stuff in my closet when I'm not out and about. By far one of the best duffle/backpacks on the market. I highly recommend also buying the smaller one to complete the set. Boys you will never use a suitcase again if you buy the set. Unless your wife makes the decisions.....which I won't touch on right now. Get your credit card out, you won't be disappointed!!!

Plenty of room. Awesome bag. Easy to carry. Made it thru 6 airports no problem. carry straps help me move all my gear without a hitch. Only problem I found was, it was too easy to fit in extra stuff. Backpack trip into Colorado Wilderness was a snap. I read above advice about water proofness?? So,I packed everything in waterproof bags. Durable and reliable. It will carry whatever you need with ease. Great Buy!!

This is an awesome bag. My only regret is that I bought 1 XL and 1 large, when really I should have just bought 2 XL--these duffels are HUGE but worth it, they took quite a beating on my various trips and the material is rugged, seams are strong. definitely recommend.

I just got back from a trip where I used the Northface Duffel and it worked spectacular. These bags are awesome. For clarification let me state a point: this bag is only water resistant NOT waterproof. I called Northface myself. In me being fussy, I would like to see the duffel waterproof but it is a really nice duffel. In addition, Altrec was running a sale on the XL Duffel’s recently as I paid only $107.97 (TOTAL) for my yellow duffel. That is a great price!

This is my second TNF Duffel (L and XL) and all I can say is that this one packs ALL your week long (or more) stuff. Has great color & design, has many alternatives of handlind it, carrying it or towing it, rugged material, weatherproof, etc. One of my best TNF accquirements. Took it to a 10 day trip into Patagonia and no matter dust or rain , it kept all my belongings as they were at my closet back home. A little pricey but it sure is worth the extra cash.

These bags are the most utilitarian around. Tough, durable and totally versatile with more volume than you can shake a stick at, there is no need to own anything else - I have three! Mine have been pretty much everywhere and taken some real punishment. From the plains of Kenya to the heights of Colorado - they have even survived French baggage handlers!

This bag is HUGE. I'll be honest I didn't buy it for purposes of backpacking or adventure travel--just a weekend trip to San Francisco this upcoming spring (how adventurous it turns out to be I don't know). The quality is wonderful, typical of what you'd expect from The North Face. To give a rough estimate of how big this XL bag actually is, lets just say its big enough to fit one petite roommate's girlfriend in (amazing what young people at a party where there are a few drinks, will do).

I have the Neo KT 1800 material version and it is tough stuff, not sure much tougher the PVC version is. Huge storage area, plenty of room for trips overseas. Only complaints is more compartments inside and out would be good but nevertheless a great duffle.

I’ve had this bag for a couple of years and, man, is it tough! I’m really a picky gear consumer and have been completely happy with this purchase and truly expect to have it 20 years from now. If I could change anything? Well, I’d have a brightly colored interior so I could find stuff in it. (Mine’s black, and a bit of a black hole at dusk.) And I’d add additional mesh sections at the ends. (There’s one mesh area in the lid.) The big North Face logo is a little conspicuous and could encourage airport theft. Backpack straps on it rock and the built-in luggage tag is nice and streamlined. Go for it; you won’t be sorry

No dragging bags around and smearing grease all over your vehicle. plus, with the dual grab handles, it's easier for you and the baggage handlers to move your bags around without ripping off one of the regular handles. It was 16 months of traveling -- some hard, some easy -- and the bag held up fine. It's scaped to all hell, but it's still waterproof and all the straps are in place. The only other thing that fared as well were my Timberland boots. I wish everything was made as well as these two survivors. Don't hesitate, there's simply no better bag.

I have two XL North Face duffles that have proven themselves over and over again. With these sturdy duffles I can pack them full of camping gear, fly to my destination, and I'm sitting beside by tent under the stars! Such camping trips used to be prohibited because of transporting the camping gear, and the airline restriction of two to three bags per traveler. Now, no longer! So far I've been able to take one week getaways to places that it would take me two weeks to adequately visit via auto. As far as the duffles go? Sturdy. No sign of wear, except for the usual scuffs. I love mine!

This bag is virtually indestructible, i've given it nearly a year of heavy use and abuse and it shows no signs of wear and tear.. the material its made out of is ridiculous, i don't even know how one would go about getting a rip or a tear in it.. its VERY strong, and the waterproofing is a great feature for not so great weather adventures.
The overall design is great and the internal mesh pocket is located in the best spot possible, and the entire setup leaves nothing to be desired.
My next plan is to get the large, just one of these isn't enough - you'll see for yourself if you get one.
I'd reccomend this unconditionally to anyone who needs an industrial strength last-forever duffel bag. And the price is WELL worth it, I'd happily pay much more for a product of this quality.

The overall design is great and the internal mesh pocket is located in the best spot possible, and the entire setup leaves nothing to be desired.
My next plan is to get the large, just one of these isn't enough - you'll see for yourself if you get one.
I'd reccomend this unconditionally to anyone who needs an industrial strength last-forever duffel bag. And the price is WELL worth it, I'd happily pay much more for a product of this quality.
