Got this jacket for my 7 yr.old son in black and the lion purple for my 10 yr. old daughter. They both love it. It's great for going from car to store because it's not bulky. My kids are very active so they wear a sweatshirt underneath when playing outside and are comfortable in it, providing temps stay in the 40's. Anything colder and extended outdoor activity in freezing temps this would be a layer for a winter coat or jacket.

I searched all over the internet for this black North Face Denali jacket with lantern green trim. Then a week before Christmas Altrec had a size L in stock! My son loves it. I think it was his favorite Christmas gift. It is very well made and easy to clean. The accent color is a great addition to an already nice jacket. The jacket was a bit larger than I expected, but it will be great for longer use. We are very happy with our purchase.

My son had this coat in an XS when he was 5. I was hoping for him to get 2 yrs out of it but I decided he needed the next size up. I think it runs a little on the small side. He has 2 younger brothers that will definately be able to wear it again as it is great quality.

Just because a product is priced higher than competing items, doesn't mean it is better; however, that is NOT the case with The North Face: Boy's Denali Jacket. The jacket was purchased for my 9 year old son. He wanted the jacket for it's brand recognition. Sad to say that, but little kids want to be cool. Besides the jacket's good looks, the build quality is top-notch. It is also very comfortable and warm, per my spoiled son. In this case, you get what you pay for. At this point, no rating for durability due to length of ownership.

My 4 yr old has been jealous of his big sister because she got the "good" jackets. The day this jacket arrived he wore it outside to play- it was 80 degrees outside. After 30 min he finally decided this jacket should be taken off and saved for the cold days. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 50's and he is so excited to wear his new jacket. As a parent I know this fleece will hold up to the abuse of a 4 yr old and still look good when he is 5.

Bought size S (8) for my average sized almost 8 year old son. Sleeves are a bit long but he loves the jacket and even wants to wear it to bed. Wish the back length was a little longer. Was hoping he would be able to wear it for two seasons but will need size M for the fall since the length is short.

I purchased this Boys Denali Jacket in Rad Green for my daughter's 11th birthday. It was pricey, especially for an eleven year old but I've always heard good things about North Face. Once the package arrived I was so impressed that I actually tried it on myself and then realized what all the hype is about. It is well constructed and the perfect jacket for late winter and spring weather. The thickness of the fabric is just the right amount to block out cold air. Anyway lets just say she LOVED IT!!!!, said it was the best present she ever got and wears it everywhere. The only thing I recommend is that you order one size up. I was going to order her a medium (10-12) but decided to go to a large (14-16). This size was perfect and still has some room to grow into come Fall and Winter 2011-2012. She is 57-58" tall and weighs btw 80-85 pounds. Hopes this helps in your decision.

The coat itself is very good but not to be used in the midwest once the weather gets cold. My only complaint about the coat is that it does not block out the wind as well as I would have expected but my active child loves the fit and freedom when playing outdoor sports.

This jacket is useless in the winter unless you wear a shell. This jacket has no wind resistance, it blows right through, you might as well not wear anything if it's windy out. This jacket has been great for my little guy. He has not once been cold while wearing this jacket. He also thinks it looks cool. The jacket has some wind protection, this is mainly due to the thickness of the fleece.

My son picked out this jacket online based on brand and style (forget function - style is way more important to kids!). We received the jacket within two days of ordering (way to go Altrec!). Unfortunately for my son, I accidentally ordered the jacket a size too big. Fortunately for me, when I tried it on, it looked and fit great! I wore it outside in the middle of a particularly brutal coldsnap and was surprised at how warm and wind resistant the jacket was. Even though it's seems more like a lightweight jacket, it is as warm as a coat. I'm now ordering a new Denali jacket for my son, in his size.

I HAVE 2 TWEEN BOYS THAT REFUSED TO WEAR A WINTER COAT ON THEIR WALK TO SCHOOL AND AT THE BUS STOP. AFTER READING SEVERAL REVIEWS AND ASKING PEERS, WE DECIDED TO COMPROMISE AND TRY THE NORTHFACE DENALI COAT. I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED AT HOW WARM THE COAT WAS. I WAS ALSO VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE SHIPPING. IT ARRIVED A DAY EARLIER THAN EXPECTED WHICH MADE MY 12 YEAR OLD EXTREMELY HAPPY. THE DAILY FIGHT TO WEAR A COAT TO SCHOOL HAS ENDED IN OUR HOUSEHOLD!

My son loves the jacket. It is sized a little bit bigger so will have room to grow into it. I will definitely use Altrec again. You cannot beat their prices for NorthFace products.

Brought this jacket for my kid. As previous North Face Denali jacket, this jacket does not disappoint. It fits well, provides enough warmth for a stand alone jacket for temperature> 30 degree or can be used as a layer underneath your technical waterproof shell. It is also very durable and well made. It does not, however, have the best wind protection.

I was looking for a jacket that would fit into the small lockers of my son's school but that would keep him warm. The Northface Denali Jacket fit the bill. It is very warm and cozy. My son loves it!!

Great value for the product. XL size is a bit small for a 14yrs (his size is in the XL according to the chart).
