Good!!!!
I had this same jacket for my son last winter and it was awesome! It's warm but not too bulky. It's not warm enough if it's really super cold/windy/snowy but the rest of the time it's great! We live part time in the mountains so we will use this a lot!

Great for my son
It was very very fast delivery and the jacket is so awesom with good price. Very light but very warm.
In winter seaseon, it's the best suit for boy who loves outdoor winter activity.

excellent coat, excellent value
i purchased the coat for my 8 year old son. he is big for his age (57 inches in height and large frame). the XL fits perfect. he has worn it and states it is his warmest jacket and also allows full range of motion. the fabric appears to clean easily. one thing i would like to see is an attached hood. overall both of us are very pleased and would recommend this jacket without reservation. we have not had the jacket long enough to comment on durability, but it appears to be well constructed.

This jacket is light, comfortable and warm!

Highly Recommend
Purchased this jacket for my 7 year old, 2nd grade son. I read reviews stating this jacket ran small, so I was unsure which size to get. I ordered the small since my son is on the smaller side for his age & I couldn't be happier with this purchase! The medium would have been too big. First time ordering from altrec and everything went smooth. I highly recommend!

Great jacket
The Nuptse down jacket is a terrific piece of clothing. It fits true-to-size yet comfortably as a top layer in the winter months. The zipper is easy to use and the pockets are well positioned. My son has the green jacket, which is a deep, forest green. Great color. This jacket is water resistant, but you'll want the waterproof shell if you really want to keep dry (the down jacket snaps in inside of the shell, as ini the adult versions of these jackets). This is the second one of these that we've owned -- they last and last and last. You will outgrow it before you wear it out. Totally worth the money, and a great product.

Great Purchase
This coat looks adorable on my 5 yr old! Love all his North Face coats. The Denail is so warm as well, but not so good the few times it snows bc it isn't waterproof. This one will be perfect!

73 lbs. and the large fits him with some room for growth. We thought about getting the medium but I'm glad we got the large.

Boy's Northface Nuptise
This jacket is very popluar with young men. It met my expectations when it was received. It is excellent quality and warm. My son is just short of 5 feet tall and the XL boys was a good fit for him. It was just a bit larger than expected. Maybe he will get another year out of the jacket before he outgrows it. It was was a wonderful value for the price and my son was very happy with it because it was not overly bulky (which means it will fit in his small school locker), comfortable, yet stylish.

great jacket
This is the second of these jackets I have purchased for my 14 yr.-old. He likes it for its light weight, comfort, and warmth. I also like the charcoal/black color combination because it doesn't show dirt. The jacket isn't stiff like many others meant for skiing, but repels enough water, and keeps him cozy on the slopes and on the way to school during our long, cold, snowy winters. He has grown a lot in a year--from 5' 1" to 5' 7", and from 95 to 115 lb.; but the coat still fits him well (size xl). Good value for the price.

Great jacket
We're really pleased with this jacket - warm and comfortable, and my son loves it. We looked at a lot of brands before selecting this one, which we chose for warmth (can't beat down fill) and ease of use (single zipper). Arrived just in time for Santa to put it under the tree:-)

Great jacket for the cold cold cold Chicago winters!
We live in Chicago and it gets very cold here. My son needed a jacket that would keep him warm and dry, and also keep up with his athletic life. This jacket fits the "bill!" I cannot believe how warm it is even though it is lightweight and not bulky. Northface really has the best jackets for our harsh winter conditions. Thanks!

Great jacket
We ordered one for our 6 year old son. It is very warm and light. We live in Norway, and he uses it at school and when playing in the snow. Temperatures are frequently below -10centigrade here. We used jetcarrier to ship it to Norway and that worked out fine.

Best down coat esp. for active boys who needs to be warm without the extra bulk. Size runs small. My son is 51 inches but very skinny so a large boys was a better fit. Had to return the medium. Customer service was great. Even emailed me the free shipping label.

Very well worth it!
I got this jacket for my son who is 7 years old. He instantly loved the jacket and wanted to wear it even though it was 75 degrees outside. One of those choices that takes all the guess work out!
There are certain "no-brainers" to taking care of your young children in the winter, and up here in Sun Valley Idaho, one of them is the "puffy coat". Here in Idaho it's like a uniform, we wear our North Face Nuptse jackets. This was a sweet deal, and it's that top quality at a phenomenal price!

AWESOME
Got this for my 6 yr old and its almost TOO warm if you can believe it! It looks fantastic and the orange is really nice so I can always keep a great eye on him. WARNING though the sizing is way off:: he wears a size 8/10 shirt and I got the large (14/16) because of reviews. I'm glad I did. It's a bit big but not by much. I'd say the Medium would be more like a 7/8.

This jacket is great. If your child is between sizes order up. I felt the jacket ran a little small. It is probably the best jacket my son ever had. He loves wearing it. It is worth every penny. Altrec is great and so is their customer service. I would order from them again.!!

Warm, light, durable and versatile jacket
My son has been wearing the Nuptse jacket since he was 4 and we continue to buy him new Nuptse sizes as he grows. This is a very versatile jacket which is light to wear but warm in cold temperatures; can be worn for skiing, snow boarding, ice skating, hiking or just casually. It is a great value at its regular price, but if you can get it on sale, nothing beats it.

The kid loves it!
My 9 year old son wanted the puffy jacket like my cold weather Nuptse. I was happy to oblige knowing that he would be warm in the coldest of weather. Now all I say is "I know it's cold, put on your jacket and get out there!" The usual NF quality applies here, nice fit, nice fill, looks good. Nice jacket. I wish we could get 2 years out of it.

Great Jacket with North Face Quality

AMAZING BUY

Comfy warm and lightweight

a bit unhappy with purchase
the product was very different than pictured on the website. the jacket actual size did not match the size specifications noted on your website. it was alot smaller than expected and was not as heavy as i thought it would be.

No hood?
what's the thinking re: leaving off a hood? I was about to order for my son when I noticed. Balaclavas are great, but don't provide the same protection from rain/sleet as a waterproof hood, nor are they as warm as a blaclava combined with a waterproof, down-filled hood! What am I missing here?

Great purchase..
I bought this for my daughter. It is extremely well tailored, and I didn't realize the Hyvent shell was waterproof so there ws no need for a shell. She has worn it pretty much on every trip we've done. It compresses down to nothing and the inner pocket is also a stuff sack. One thing for nit-pickers - the construction is sew-through (not baffle) so you are may encounter cold spots at the seams. (personally I have yet to find a baffle sewn down jacket in the US) However practially this does not pose a problem if you have a sweater underneath.

I sent back two of the three Nuptse coats back on Monday because they were too small and I received an email today that my return had already been processed! This is our second one.
This will be our second Nuptse Jacket for our 11 year old. He has the shell too. It is a versital enough system that he can wear it all 8 months of winter in Fairbanks, Alaska. He just adds a little more or less depending on the activity and the temp.
