Poor sizing
December 18, 2009

These boots look great, and the pull on style is perfect for a boy on the go. However, it is sized too small. After careful foot measuring and ordering the correspomding size, my son could barely pull this boot on. A mother's instinct told me to size up, but I went by the guidelines, thinking that you don't want a winter boot that is too big. We would have liked the boot had it fit!

Good Boot
February 14, 2009

My son likes these boots as they are easy on and off as well as light weight. They arrived sooner than promised and the price was very fair for the quality. His only complaint is that the draw strings at the top of the boot do not close easily and tight enough to seal the top and snow sneaks in.

Nice Boots
March 06, 2010

the bottom part of the boots aren't all black. the picture didn't show that. other than that, the boot looks alright.

GREAT BOOTS!

Just what I needed
January 30, 2011

This is my second winter with these little boy boots and they are almost perfect. They slip on and off easily, are warm and comfortable. I had hoped the top of the boot would cinch around my ankle to keep snow out in deep drifts and when sledding with the grandkids, but they are pretty stiff, stiff enough that if I walk a lot in them, they sometimes chafe my leg. But for most of what I do, they are just right.

Pros: Build quality, Ease of use

stylish and warm

SUPERCUTE and SUPERSTYLISH kid's winter shoes. The only con is that they are a little too stiff in general. I got these in Brown color - I found them a bit nicer than the black ones.

Pros: warm and water/snow resistant, Cons: a bit stiff

Great boot, easy for kids to slide on
December 11, 2009

Love this boot, no laces, no straps. So easy to pull on, yet it's snug enough for kids to run and play in snow. Really warm too!

too hard to put on
December 18, 2012

Really nice quality boots, great looking, but totally impossible for my son to get on and off on his own. Once they were on he said they were quite comfortable. Sad to return

Couldn't even get the boots on!
February 28, 2011

I purchased the boots on the recommendation of others on this site, but my 5-year-old son couldn't even get his foot into the boot, as the opening was too narrow. I therefore can't even comment on the other qualilties (eg. durability). It's a shame, because the boots seemed rugged and nice looking.

Cons: doesn't slip on

Perfect school-aged winter boot
June 06, 2011

This is my second purchase of the North Face Snow Plough boot. My six-year-old used a smaller size this past season. They still look great after tonnes of abuse and were my son's boot of choice because they were light (for a snow boot), easy for him to pull on at school and super warm (-40C some days). After a season and a half of use, the treads are still in good enough shape that these will be perfect as a hand-me-down for our younger son. There's also a cinch strap at the top that we never used -- they're sort of moulded on the inside and snow stays out on its own.

Pros: easy to put on, high quality construction, warm, lightweight

Liked last year's model better.
December 15, 2009

I'm a 5'3"ish tall adult woman who bought boys North Face boots on sale last year to power through ice and snow, and loved them. I was hoping for a repeat this year, but it didn't work out. I felt like this style was actually pretty short on the calf, more like a high top/ankle boot vs. a "snow boot." This year's style just felt cut for a more sporty, trim look, and scaled for an even smaller person than the same size from the previous year. I ended up returning them for a pair of the Sorel's Women's lighter weight duck boots. But I'm sure these would be great for a kid of the appropriate size though.

narrow boots
July 22, 2011

Excellent stitched boots, took his son five years. But the son could not even to put on those boots. They are very narrow, although he took on two more often you will want. Very upset. This is the first thing the company North Face, which no one can recommend.

Pleased with purchase
December 30, 2010

After a couple of winters in hiking boots and cheaper department store "snow" boots, we decided to order these boots. The boots arrived promptly from Altrec and upon initial inspection the build quality of the boots looked sturdy. After wearing for a few hours and when asked about his new boots, our son simply stated they "felt good." It appeared that he stayed much warmer and drier than previous boots worn so we are happy with our purchase and value of the product. I believe the pull-on design is super easy to get on and off and children appreciate this type of boot as they spend more time playing and less time getting ready! In addition, Altrec made the purchase even easier with fair pricing, great service, and fast shipping!!

Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, Great value

Nice boots!
March 10, 2012

I bought these boots for my two sons. They both like the very much at the first glance! The boots are a bit narrow and quite rigid, but are very warm and waterproof.

Love this boot
