Best value for the weight and temp rating

Compresses nicely. Not too heavy for a 20 degree bag. Purchased to mate to a long RH TNF bag. Comes with compression sack and nice storage bag for clean safe storage under your bed or closet. Easy to wash at home since it's a synthetic bag.

Pros: Build quality, Great value

not bad

It compacts and weighs as much as my down bag. It seems pretty warm but I haven't taken it out yet.

awesome bag

I just got this sleeping bag in the mail next week, must say shipping was fast. I have not been able to fully test out this sleeping bag but i tried it in my house and it was very warm, the quality is superb i'm sure it will survive the test of time.

I've a Cat's Meow since 1978. It was one of the best investments in gear I've ever made. Works as fine as when I bought it. Not bad for almost 30 years, it's lasted thru 3 stuff sacks. It has been all over, US, Canada, Europe, Asia;,never let me down. Although it is only rated @ 20 degress it has seen -5 F and did a passable job. The new Cat's Meow is lighter with more advanced materials but it keeps with the concept of a affordable quality bag.

Lasts forever
November 29, 2012

I use this bag during spring, summer, and fall raft trips. I've beaten it up and down rivers across the country and it has held up well. It packs down to a reasonable size and doesn't weigh more than comparable bags that I've had. The bag's not as warm as other bags that I've used (20 degrees? Only if I'm wearing warm clothes too!) but it works well in moderate temperatures.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Ease of use, Cons: warmth

Good price compresses well
February 11, 2011

This seems to be a pretty compressible bag at a reasonable price. We had purchased another name brand bag for about the same price. The Cat's meow compresses better than the same temp rated bag. (The other bag has no padding on the bottom and yet is still larger.) Very happy with my purchase!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

Classic, not impressed

Draft collar is too small and bunches up when collar and hood is drawn, thus being nonfunctional. The material bunches so much when you draw the collar and hood in, so as to be cumbersome, uncomfortable, and allows air in. The zipper draft tube does not seal as well as it could. It is an OK bag but not up to it's reputation. How the other reviewer used it a -5 is beyond me (the wood stove probably helped). It was easy to resell and I am MUCH happier with my Mountain Hardware Lamina. This is how a bag should be made.
