OK- It is a little pricey for a kids jacket but it's worth it. It is well constructed and will be able to withstand years of use. I forsee passing this jacket down to my niece. It fits true to size and is really comfortable. We have never been disappointed with a North Face product and this was no exception.

My daughter loves this jacket. She received it as a Christmas gift. Now she will not wear any of her other jackets. We have received many compliments on the orchid purple color. My daughter is small framed and the puffy down is lightweight and not bulky. She has worn it outside for hours and she says that it keeps her "toasty" warm. Zipper works great; we have had problems with the zipper quality on other brands.

I bought one for my daughter (Age 2) and nieces (Age 5 and Age 7). When it comes to North Face you cannot go wrong. This jacket is lightweight an stylish. I wasn't sure about the size especially for my 2 year old but buying a small for next years winter was the way to go. Great deal for high quality.

My daughters were so excited waiting for this jacket to arrive and were not disappointed when it did! They feel completely warm and protected in this jacket, and are actually happy that the weather has cooled so that they can wear it to school! They also love the colors of the pink and lilac. Sizing is very accurate. Our only suggestion to improve upon this jacket would be to have an inside pocket.

My daughter loves this coat. The only slight disappointment is that it's on the thin side. Though she's never been cold wearing it, I feel I need to get her another jacket to wear underneath for very cold days. Otherwise, it's a huge hit.

I love TNF and I had not been disappointed in any of the purchases so far (we own many). This one, however, came close to "not so great" category for the first time. I bought a large for my almost 10 year old and she said she liked the style and would gladly wear it. I was quite surprised that it's a down jacket that didn't feel/look like one! The outer material was rather stiff and heavy, and I wasn't fond of the shiny quilted look of the material. I think the only attractive thing about this jacket was the price and you'd still get that logo that everyone loves. But I felt like I should buy a different brand that can make these jackets for half the price! I ended up returning it and got my daughter a carmel jacket on sale, which has the same 550 down fill but a ton warmer and lighter which I found worthwhile to spend my money on!

I love this jacket. It looks great and is very warm yet not bulky. My daughter is 9 and I got a medium size 12. It was to small. I returned it and got a lge 14-16, it fits her great. So the sizes run small. Also noticed that with the pink color I could almost see the filling or down through the jacket. Loved this site, can't beat thier prices!

My 6 year old wanted a North Face jacket. She fell in love with the Moondoggy style at a local store, but I wanted something less puffy. I hated to spend the money. We tried on many at various stores, but I decided to search online for a better price and style. My daughter's measurements are 23", 23", 23". She's a bean! She's also 47" tall and weighs 41 lbs. When the coat arrived at out home, she LOVED the color! I LOVED the fit. I bought her a SMALL. It's a little long in the arms, but that just ensures me that she'll continue to wear it next year as well. I love how the down is thick yet thin as to not look puffy. I've decided to purchase on for myself. I am very happy with my 1st North Face Purchase!

My daughter, 11, is caught between youth and adult sizing. The womens extra small was a little tight, not much room for a sweater underneath. The girl's XL...has plenty of room (maybe a little too much for my daughters liking) and is $40 cheaper. Will fit her for a couple of years.

I chose the girls jacket over the women's jacket for several reasons. #1 The cross stitch thread pattern has a lot of small diamonds rather than several larger diamonds. This is very important because it makes a person look thinner whereas the larger stitching pattern will not. My wife gets a lot of compliments on how she looks with the jacket on, etc. #2 The girls TNF black has purple accents (One of her favorite colors) and the girls Purple has black accents. Both of these colors go so well together. #3 Price. I was able to purchase two girls XL jackets for about the same price as 1 women's jacket. My wife absolutely loves both of the Girls North Face Aconcagua Jackets I gave her and alternates between one and the other.

Bought this coat for my 5 year old daughter.. she loves it since it looks just like her mom's but in a little girl color and size. It is super warm and fits great! The jacket is not bulky at all. She is average size to on the smaller size for her age but I ordered one size up to fit with bulky clothes on underneath. Altrec was great too, super fast shipping! This was the second North Face jacket my oldest daughter has received. She outgrew the first and her younger sister is now wearing, and it still looks like new. We live in NE Ohio so she needs a coat that stands up to snow, rain and cold. She loves it - the way it looks and feels - and wouldn't consider any jacket that wasn't a North Face. This is the second Aconcagua I've bought this season. These are very comfortable jackets, and I like how they are not overly 'puffy'. They are roomy - the kids' XL fits me just fine (5'4", 120-something lb), with room to spare for layering underneath. Overall, very happy with this purchase!

I ordered this jacket for my granddaughter. The sale price was so reasonable, I decided to purchase it now, since the regular priced The North Face jackets are usually quite expensive. But even though the very cold weather is almost over here; I'm going to save it for next winter. My granddaughter is uncomforable in bulky jackets, so this jacket is ideal for her; it's nicely structured without being bulky and I believe it's down filled, which makes it extra warm, again without the bulky feeling. I also like that the jacket is machine washable, although the instructions read that it can be tumble dryed, I'll probably drip dry it to maintain durability. I haven't had a chance to try it on her, but she'll be visiting soon so I'll do that, but I'm sure it will fit fine. Overall, an excellent, good quality jacket for a great price! Altrec, keep the discounts coming!!

I am an adult and am 5'1 tall. I like to get Youth size ones because I can save money and sometimes they have very cute colors. Before I ordered this, I went to a local sports shop and I tried it on and made sure the sizes are OK. They were selling the exactly same jackets(they only had black and brown) for 99 dollars. I got a Mistletoe Green XL size and it fit me perfectly. Mistletoe Green looks a little bit brighter than it looked in the picture to me.Good length(covers more than half of my bottom).Sleeves could be a little bit short but if you wear gloves it is just fine. Not too puffy and very warm. I wore it when we had 10 degrees weather and I didn't feel any cold.

My 9-year old likes it for its bright color and light weightness. It keeps her warm from late fall (when her Northface Denali jacket is too light) through most of the Chicago winter, but we do need a heavier coat for the really heavy snow days. The large is a perfect size that allows for a everyday sweater.

Love the color and the fit!!MY daughter loves the graphite color and it keeps her so warm. She can wear it to school or out in the snow when we go upsate NY or to Vermont.

sleeves seem a little short?

Ordered a large (14-16) and it looks like it will fit this year but the sleeves seem a little short? Not Altrec's fault but note you may want to order up a size to fit for more than one season. Otherwise the item showed up on time and the price was extremely reasonable. I would shop Altrec again for sure!

This jacket appears very lightweight but is supposed to be warm. Came in gorgeous blue color which my 11 year old loves. I hope it will be as warm as promised.

Bought this for my daughter who fits either petite adult small or girls xl. The XL fit is roomy enough to wear a sweatershirt layer while offering a slim look. Great buy! All around great transaction experience - easy to order, quality product and quick inexpensive delivery. Will shop Altrec again.

I purchased this jacket for myself in a Girls XL. I am 5'5"and 120 lbs. I own 4 other The North Face jackets in youth sizes and I really wanted a down jacket. The fit of this jacket is terrible. It fits nothing like my other youth jackets (I have both girls and boys). It is huge in the chest area and has extremely short sleeves. The sleeves did not even hit my wrists and the sleeves on all of my other Girls XL jackets are perfect right at my wrist or even longer. This jacket also feels stiff and plastic. I returned this jacket. Save your money on this one.
