This Heckler backpack has been with me at school and whenever I travel. It is extremely durable. When I am at school I am usually able to carry my notebooks (3-4) and my laptop, with water, and my personal items. The backpack does not feel heavy, and it supports my back all throughout the day while I am carrying it. When I am traveling, it carries everything I need for the whole day and then some. It has many convenient pockets, and I absolutely love it.

I bought it for college and it didn't disappoint me at all. It large enough to put in a laptop and a few books and couple of binders. I highly recommanded.

Great College Pack!
I am a student at a university and this was just the backpack I needed. It safely protects my laptop and holds all my books. The side straps really take pressure off of your back for heavier loads. I really like that it is water resistant so I don't need to worry about my laptop getting destroyed. It's a great looking backpack and this price will not be beat anywhere else. I strongly suggest this backpack.

great backpack
nice design, size, packable and comfortable. I like the color and it is good choice for a man and woman too. I had no opportunity yet to test it but I'm sure it will be perfect during my mountain trips. I would buy it again!

excellent purchase
This backpack although a little pricey at first look, it well worth it for the quality. This product is very well made and will last for years and years. It has a padded back panel, confortable straps and different compartments for neat storage.
The under armour name has always lived up to my expectations.

Best Backpack I've Ever Had!
This is certainly the best pack I've ever had. As a law student, I have a lot of large textbooks I need to carry around. This pack can hold the books I need on a daily basis. This pack is also great for activities like bike riding and hiking. It is super durable, lightweight and has plenty of organizational pockets to hold gadgets.

Great HS backpack

good looking, light, sturdy backpack
received it as a gift for use at college. surprised how light it is. it is smaller than i had expected, which is actually good for me. it is not waterproof but haven't had any problem so far--it's been raining a LOT in new haven, CT. i got a black one, not TNF black, which was on sale. i like it a lot.

Great Size for High Schooler!
This backpack is great! My son can fit large books, lunch, shoes and more. It is sturdy and can also fit his laptop, though he hasn't tried that yet. It is longer than previous ones he has had, so he is very happy. Separate compartments in front perfect for cell phone, calculator, etc.
I recommend this backpack after looking around for so many!

A Hit for My College Student
Purchased the ivory/blue Northface Heckler backpack for my daughter's first year in college. It's a beautiful backpack, the colors are even more striking in realtime than on the website pics. As always, Northface backpacks are the best out there as far as durability and spaciousness go. The extra padding in the shoulders are great, an absolute must-have with all the weight the students have to carry around. The sides on this backpack have expandable clips/straps too, for when you have to carry a laptop, books, and other supplies all at the same time. There are plenty of zipper compartments on the outside as well. You really can't miss in purchasing this backpack for a middle, high school, or college student. It's worth the extra cost.

This backpack will fit two large binders and two text book with ease... I also am excited about the weight distribution feature, since it does hold so much! This could be the last back pack we buy until we send our daughter off to college! Awesome backpack!!

Great choice for school load
I bought this for my daughter who is entering high school. She was using a JanSport previously, and 12 months of use totally trashed it. This new one is roomier and about as light. The zippers are smooth and sewn on well (no loose threads to get it stuck), and the straps have more cushioning. The back support was what first caught my attention about this model, and it feels sturdy and comfortable even when we loaded the bag up with books up to its full capacity (although that should not be the normal case in daily use). Of course the color is what bought my daughter, and I am happy to say that she loves it as much as I am assured of the support and comfort features. I will revise the 4 stars for durability once we have gone through 6+ months of use. All in all, I am happy with the choice, and we shall see if that changes down the road.

great backpack for college
I bought this backpack for my daughter who is starting college. She needed one to carry her laptop and books, but she also wanted it to look good. Loved the color and it is the perfect size. It holds her laptop and her books comfortably. She is very short and the it is not too big for her. Also, the straps on her shoulders make it very comfortable.

Great purchase on awesome backpack.
I purchased this backpack for my daughter for highschool. It was a great purchase. She loves the color. She can easily fit her macbook inside. She is tall and it fits her torso comfortably. She also likes the padding on the straps because her backpack tends to get really heavy.

Great Back to School Back Pack!
I bought this for my daughter as a surprise back to school pack. She loved the the colors and the adjustable snug fit. She is on the smaller side so it is nice that a large pack can sitll cinch down to fit her snugly. I loved the extra padding in the shoulder straps for when she has a heavy load of books.

Love the quality. Use it for school and fit everything I need. Travel is a breeze when you don`t have to carry a bulky suitcase. I fit everything-everything- I needed for a whole week. Not the best hiking pack, but will do.

I will only buy North Face Backpacks
The heckler is an awesome backpack, with lots of space for everything I needed it to carry for school. I only wish it had more small pockets that I could stow phones, wallets, etc. I've owned 3 north face backpacks during my life (all for school), and have only purchased a new one when I was bored with the old one. One problem I had with this backpack after about 6 months was, because I had to pack it with such heavy books and binders, the top nylon hold began to tear on one side. It still held up, however just frayed on one side. Overall, great backpacks.

This product is well-made, durable and something I would purchase again. I have previously purchased north face backpacks and they have lasted for years and years. I love to give them away as graduation gifts to friends' children going to college. They are also wonderful not only as school backpacks, but as hiking or traveling backpacks. The variety of pocket sizes is our favorite feature

Value
I was in the market for a new backpack as I've gotten into the habit of carrying one daily over the last year. I wanted one to use daily for work, on weekends for hikes and adventures and for international travel as a carry-on. After checking out all the major manufacturers, I narrowed it down to the TNF Box Shot and this pack. They have similar capacity and assembly quality, but the reasons I chose the Box Shot are that it had better organization with more pockets. and better materials were used in construction. If budget were a consideration, I'd definitely have chosen the Heckler since it's less than half the price and if I preferred one large compartment (as I do in my multi-day backpack) I would have gone with the Heckler. Now it's your turn to choose!

Awesome Backpack!!
I just upgraded to this backpack from a North Face Jester backpack that I've had for 8 years now. It was a huge improvement; the side straps are good for compressing the bulk and has perfect pockets to compartmentalize. I don't use the laptop section, but it is perfect for school/work stuff. The side mesh panels are wide enough to hold more than just water bottles and sturdy elastic to withstand movement. The elastic strap on the front is good for more trail/hiking use for the backpack (it can attach carabiners, shoes, towels, etc.). It can hold a larger capacity than average daily use backpacks and has comfortable shoulder straps and additional lumbar and chest straps for postural support.

Very nice backpack, i love the look, love the feel. I wish it was a little bit larger, at least in the width dimension. However, it has a great cushion for my laptop, and the 2-compartments are perfect for the way I like to organize my stuff, and love how the side pockets fit my bottles/gloves easily.

the bag is nice and able to store quite a lot. the one annoyance i have is with the laptop sleeve/pocket. its useful when i have one in there but when i'm not storing a laptop there, it seems to take up unneccesary space with the little dividider/support thing that is at the bottom. other than that though, the bag is very comfortable and has many pockets for storing things.

Heckler laptop Backpack
I purchased the Heckler laptop backpack for my 7th grade daughter. She loves it. The inside is quite detailed, with special lining for her laptop. Provides nice protection for the laptop. Inside there are many well structured areas to hold everything from pens and pencils to cell phone and ipod. The size seams a little long for a 7th grader but she, at 5'4" feels quite comfortable with it on her back. We ordered it in Pink plaid. The "pink" is so subtle my daughter feels it should have been called "blue" plaid, but loves it just the same. However, the inside structure is quite pink. Overall we would recommend this backpack for comfort, style and durability.

A great buy!
This is the best backpack I've ever purchased. It holds a lot without looking really bulky, and when you aren't carrying a big load, the side and bottom straps allow you to compress the pack down for an even slimmer look. The shoulder straps are nicely padded, and I love the mesh pockets on both sides. Being a college student who likes the outdoors, I love that there's plenty of room for books and a sleeve for my laptop, AND the pack is also durable and comfortable enough for all-day hikes. Highly suggested, and well worth the money.

Good backpack for school
I really enjoy using this backpack everyday for school. It comes with a laptop compartment to hold your laptop and it also has plenty of room to keep binds, folder, and textbooks. Only downside is there is a lot of room so if you dont have that much to bring to school, you are left with extra space. I would definitely recommend this backpack.

Perfect Backpack
This backpack fits a lot, my laptop, clothes and whatnot. I bought the Saratoga Green & it looks great. The shoulder straps are very comfortable for wearing all day long. I highly recommend this pack to anyone.

Great Pack!
This is a great backpack! It's a little pricy but worth every penny, especially when it's being worn for the entire day. The shoulder straps are very comfortable and there is a good amount of back padding. This pack is great for a hike in the woods or a day at the amusement park. A must have.

Perfect Travel Carry on
I got the Cardinal Red for my trip to India,a two week adventure hiking the Himalayas,through rivers,hot weather,old buses...it worked great,my laptop was secure,I had plenty of space for a change of clothes,never had to worry about my documents getting wet,and it was comfortable to carry around.

Perfect for school
It is waterproof the laptop compartment is snug and well padded i can walk through any weather without having to worry about anything happening to my laptop. Also the plaid looks pretty sick i get a lot of complements on the bag

Great Backpack!
I bought this backpack because I have heard about how wonderful North Face bags are and I haven't been disappointed. This bag has a lot of great features and is cool looking. Girls, it is a little big, mainly long, but it's not overly big. My Mac book fits perfectly in the laptop holder, which is a big plus! I definitely recommend this bag.

Lovin it
Great backpack,looks solid and it is gianormous. My last northface backpack lasted five road hard years, it is still in working order, but it was just time for a new one. I am sure this one will get through the next five no problem.

Perfect size, great capacity, built to last
I travel extensively and also carry a lot of large binders and my laptop for work, and this backpack is perfect for both. I wasn't even a backpack type of person, but the Heckler changed that as soon as it arrived -- and Altrec shipped it very quickly. The backpack is incredibly sturdy and feels very durable. I was amazed at just how much it can hold. It fit everything that once took me two large bags to carry -- and I still had room for more! I'm a 5'3" petite female, and though this bag runs on the large side, it's exactly the right size for me and for what I take on trips and to work. I wish I had this backpack when I was back in college, because it would have been much better than the dinky tote bags I used to carry. The straps on Heckler make carrying anything feel like a dream, and the secondary front pockets help keep smaller items organized. I will be using this backpack for years to come, I'm sure.

Great Bag for Students
My son helped carry books for a injured friend at school with his backpack and came home raving about this backpack. Loves the padding on the straps, compact size and laptop sleeve. Got this as a gift for someone else - so much room in it - even by college student standards - I have the Northface Aurora Borealis and although I've been happy with it - I'd love one of these for myself now! the straps on the bottom and sides make it look like it's not gigantic and make it more compact for when you're not using the space while it fits just about whatever you could want - textbooks, laptop and a change of clothes at LEAST. overall, I would definitely recommend this

great back pack
I recently received the Heckler backpack in moonlight ivory and it's great. I use it for school and carrying my laptop everyday. It fits a lot of items but still fits comfortably when I wear it. The side pockets are also nice for water bottles or travel mugs. I'm very happy with the backpack and the site as well.

Love it!
I use this backpack for school and it's so comfortable considering that I carry a lot of stuff and am at school for up to 12 hours a day. It's super comfortable and can carry A LOT of stuff! The smaller pocket in the front also comes in handy!

Not ideal for a laptop.
I bought this backpack for my 15.4" laptop. I have been using other North Face products but I was not impressed on this backpack. There was no fully separated compartment for laptop and I didn't see enough protection comparing to the ones I checked. The fabric was pretty thin and it may be very durable one but it seems to me too think to carry a laptop. I recommend to check the actual backpack before purchasing it. I just examined pictures and descriptions but that didn't provide me with the whole picture of the product.

Pretty Awesome
It's great. I'm currently in nursing school and need to fit a TON of stuff and the backpack does a good job of fitting it all - I can fit a 3 inch textbook, my laptop, a couple folders, a spiral notebook, a pair of shoes, and a change of clothes. If it were any bigger I'd topple over. It has great support and makes it feel like I'm carrying way less than I am. It looks fab and I love it.

saratoga green actually looks a lot different
I ordered the Saratoga Green color expecting it to look like the one in the image above, but once I got it in the mail it was a completely different color. I was expecting a light olive green, and its actually a dark hunter green. Not like the picture at all. Disappointing that the image doesn't match the product.
