i purchased after an unfortunate car break in at my school. my backpack was stolen and i needed a new one. i fell in love with this one when i saw it. and i take it everywhere. it is extremely durable and holds all of my books with extra room. as any college student would know, books are huge and a hassel to carry by hand. this back pack has been a huge help and i have had no problems. i absolutely love it!!!!!

Good buy for everyday use, don't recommend for long day hikes or carrying at full capacity because of the lack of strap across the chest to hold in place to help distribute the weight. Its a great durable bag and can with stand everyday use.

I bought this as a gift because I have had one Northface backpack for my last two years of high school, all through college, and part of grad school. When the zipper broke out (from me overstuffing the pack!) the Northface lifetime warranty kicked in and they gave me 50% of a new pack. I felt like I got 9 lives out of my Northface pack, so I got this as a gift. It is the perfect size for a student, with the right amount of compartments and no unecessary pockets or slots for highly specific stuff that you may not have. The side pockets for coffee mugs or sodas are large enough (something that is not the case on my own Northface pack)

i was really pleased with this backpack, it's definitely large enough for a college student carrying books on campus, the design helps distribute weight evenly on my back, and it looks pretty cool (black color).

i bought it for my college. it's pretty good! you can put a lot of books. also laptop! but it looks a bit large for girls. i saw many girls carry this bag though. the only disadvantage of this bag is that things that control the side line's length easily loose. but overall, i recommend!

I was looking for a backpack that was durable, pleasing to the eye, and inexpensive-- this is a perfect choice! I'm using the bag for school, but I see myself taking it camping and traveling with me also. I love all the little pockets and zippers, it's a great design, and very comfortable to wear. We purchased the North Face Jester Backpack for our daughter late this summer along with a long list of other school supplies. She is very happy with it and I am pleased with it's construction. Although she has more homework this year and some rather large textbooks, the pack still has room for her lunch and a sweatshirt. She frequently uses a mesh pocket on the outside to carry a water bottle too.

I have received nothig but compliments about my back-pack. They never new North-face made plaid back-packs. It is sturdy, has a huge capacity fr all of my gym stuff and more I truly love my back-pack. this is the second north face jester backpack i have purchased from altrec. the first one was for my daughter who is in high school and this one was for my younger daughter, a fifth grader. it works great for both with plenty of room inside for both age levels, great style and versatility! it has worn very well...the first one we ordered is going into its third school year and still looks as good as the one we just received!

This backpack is a great buy for the money. My daughter used it through her college years carrying books, water, laptop, etc. She also uses this packback for carrying her uniform, shoes, etc when playing in a Women's soccer league. The bag is extremely sturdy and lasts a long time. It is a terrific buy and very practical.

I shied away from The North Face due to the price, but Altrec offers a very competitive one. The product is great and looks durable. I will use it for air travel and work commute. It fits everything I need. The lack of laptop slot gives it more space, but I will still say it's not a huge pack. Nevertheless, I am happy with the price and quality of this product and recommend it.

This bag is a great item to use for school! The straps have cushioned padding and it is very comfortable. Even on my days with the heaviest loads, somehow this bag holds it all without straining my back!

This backpack is lightweight and perfect for small jaunts in the woods. The blue plaid design is super stylish and is the perfect accessory on and off campus. The padded back is really comfortable and the organization pockets are great. I also like the side mesh pockets for drinks.

I purchased this backpack for my 13 year old (8th grader). This was a perfect size for her tall/thin frame. She is 5'5" and weighs 110. Great support and lightweight. She loves the style as well. This pack has several compartments and a side bottle holder that is perfect for gatorade, water, etc. Would definitely recommend.

After having a few previous bags that have ripped, this bag has broken the curve. It is a perfect bag for a college kid. It doesn't have a huge capacity, but it has enough for a few classes and has good weight distribution for transport. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is in upper education and is looking for a very durable bag that can handle the load of a college kid. A great choice!

I love this backpack! Not only is it sleek and stylish, but it is going to last forever. The foam-core back is great for carrying books, too. Sometimes the books in my backpack poke me in the back and make them uncomfortable to carry, but that won't be a problem with the Jester. Great value for the price too, especially when compared with other, more expensive North Face backpacks. I would definitely recommended this backpack to students!

This is an ideal backpack to wear for college since it is not too large nor too small. Has one large compartment that can easily fit my laptop and textbooks and a small compartment for pencils, phone, ect. I would buy one for this friend too for her birthday!

This backpack just came in and it is just so beautiful! Honestly I used to roll my eyes at the north face brand but you have to step back and realize: these backpacks are so popular yet expensive because they are OF EXCELLENT QUALITY. My sister bought one last year and its still in perfect condition. My other $25 backpacks wouldn't even last past my first semester. I say its worth the extra few dollars if it will last forever. Overall this backpack is amazing.

I bought this North Face backpack for my freshman year of college, and it's perfect! Of course with North Face you're going to get the very best quality, but all the details are what make it really great. The appearance is exactly as shown, and the colors are very vivid. The front pocket comes with tons of little compartments for storing stuff like pens/pencils, cell phone, etc. It has a very sturdy yet padded backing. If you're looking for a lot of storage space you might want to get a larger backpack, as this one only has one large pocket and one small pocket. For me, however, it's the perfect fit for books, laptop, and all the little things. I'd say look no further, this bag is great!!!

I love this backpack! What's not to love? I originally bought this for my son but loved the color so much decided to keep it for myself and buy another for my son. Great for all the school gear! I like the extra buckles to keep the weight evenly distributed on your body. I am a big North face fan and this did not change that! I would recommend this for school and the gym!

My high school son wanted a northface bookbag for school and when we went to the store they were over $80.00. I wasn't going to spend that much on a bag that he was not going to take care off, so I started surfing the net. I found the same bag in defferent websites but this one was the least expensive. I was a little dissapointed because it was back ordered, so I had to wait for almost one month. I bought it anyway being that it was a good price. To my surpirise the bag came two weeks earlier...VERY HAPPY...He loves the bag and eventhough it has only been a week since we got it the bag seems to be durable...THANKS!

I bought this bag to use for school. I have books that have 1000+ pages to carry to class or around town for studies. This bag balances the weight well on my back to where it never feels "heavy." (and I am only 5'2) It has extra pockets for small items: cell phones, calculators, wallets, candy, phones, whatever- and it all stays well protected. The only thing I wish that it did have was a padded divider that kept my computer separate from my books when carrying it in the major compartment of the bag. However, if the laptop is kept in its own padded zipper case, the flat backing of the NF bag keeps it from falling back and forth in the bag. Great bag. Great website to buy it from too. Thanks!

Before selecting this product, I went over the reviews and found that it was helpful and reassuring to read other people's satisfication with the Jester bag. I'm in grad school and use this bag to tote around all my books and binders....and the size and compartments I love! I have so back problems so this bag also helped distributed the weight evenly and at times I didn't even realize it was on my back! Wonderful pockets in the front to keep your stuff organized and find it useful to have the side pockets for my drinks--less for me to carry in my hands. Only con, would be that I wish there was a large pocket in the main compartment of the bag for loose papers or folders.

My wife needed a new family vacation backpack. We haven't had a chance to actually take it on a vacation yet but we are very pleased with the build quality, numerous pockets & pouches, and weight. My wife does have one complaint...she didn't realize the "back" is a harder plastic. She expected a "soft" backpack. Most backpacks we shopped had this feature so she got over it pretty quickly. We're very happy with the purchase and the price.

For school, a solid choice. Handles books and never looks back. I graduated, and started using to bring to work, the lack of divider in the main compartment was a deal breaker. The front section has all sort of small pockets, which are great unless you happen to tip the bag over...then everything slides out. This has turned into my "going to the gym" bag and does its job well.

Great backpack! Its got it all - form and function! Bought this backpack for my high school daughter. Plenty roomy for all her text books without being clumsy. The super soft shoulder straps help with heavy loads. Cute plaid pattern with fun pink interior...cute without being too cutsie!
