my new coat good
I LOVE my new coat! It fits perfectly and it is warm and comfortable. Excellent quality at a great price
The jacket fit fine, and had a decent amount of down, but the feathers were poking out along the seams quite a bit. Looking at the other jackets on the rack it seemed to be a common problem.

North Face 550
Fits well and is warm in moderately cold temperatures. Great appearance. Unknown yet on waterproof ability. Purchased this item when it was on sale for 30% off. Great price for a North Face brand jacket.

its definetly not a winter jacket
my hubby tends to run hot so I was looking for a jacket that wasn't too warm and he definetly doesn't like the puffy look. so i was very happy i found this and the reviews all said that it wasn"t as puffy as other down jackets were. and i don"t like all those shiny fabric out there and this fabric was just the normal type. BUT i didn't realize that it would have so little down. I'm just guesstimating but if i was to measure the puff - it would be like 1/5 inch. there is nothing wrong with the jacket and it fit well. but there is no way - this is a winter jacket. this is a light fall jacket.
So if you are looking for the thinnest down jacket out there - this is the jacket for you. it looks nice. and my husband is a 6 ft -190 pounds and he fits into a L perfectly. but for us - the search still continues.

Great jacket
I already have a North Face Triclimate but wanted something less bulky for mild winter. This jacket fits the bill in all aspect. Great looking jacket without the puffy look as most down. Good fit & keep me toasty in temp just above freezing with only a t-shirt inside.
The only issue that I encounter is the feather coming out from the jacket. I don't know if others have the same problem or its just my jacket. Overall, it is a good buy.

TNF Aconcuaga
Purchased this NF jacket for my 17 year old son for Christmas. Teens are usually difficult to buy for however my son absolutely loves this jacket and the matching logo beanie! He unwrapped it and wore it the same day! He has a 700 fill also and says this 550 fill is perfect for the current NJ winter and he'll wear the 700 fill in the snow. Overall a great buy!

Great jacket
What a difference this jacket makes. Super lightweight, and amazingly warm. Never too hot, never too cold. And an amazing price. I could not be happier!

Jacket fit perfect. Warm but not below 20 degree
I love the look and fit. It's very light and I may buy a hoodie for underneath. Its warm but not if under 20 degrees. Its 550 fill and if you in extremely buy a 800 fill at least. I love this jacket and glad I purchased it.

Light but very warm
I purchased this coat as a gift for my brother. He is very particular and doesn't like the bright colors some down coats come in so he loved the navy blue color. Based on the reviews, I ordered an XL because someone mentioned that a L was too small for her husband who had similar measurements. However, the XL was too big so I am exchanging it for a L. It's nice and light but very warm. He doesn't like the bulk of most down coats so this is perfect as his go to winter coat this year.

Super warm, good value
This is a good entry level down jacket for someone wanting to get a wam down. It's mighty warm and cozy, and despite it's bulkiness it's relatively light.
Compresses well, suffs into a backpack easily or lashes onto the outside.
Would be nice if it had a hood but there's other jacket offerings that do.

Great Jacket
This was my third attempt at purchasing a Jacket this Winter for my 15 year old son. On the others the zippers failed. Finally I asked him to find a North Face jacket that appealed to him, since I knew the quality and design would be good. The jacket is well made and not bulky. He wears a hoodie underneathe when it is very cold. We purchased a small mens and it fits well. He is 5'6" and about 135 lbs. Now he can be out and about in this cold NY Winter looking good and being kept warm, too.

Very Happy
Purchased this jacket for my boyfriend who made it known that he did not want to look like the Michelin man. It was one of my Christmas gifts to him. We are having a crazy winter here in NJ. Its been cold and lots of snow. My boyfriend wears it every day and loves it ! Nothing better than a happy boyfriend.

I like it..
The jacket is very warm and lightweight.Very comfortable-
I have been using it at teen temps and it has provided excellent warmth. I have just worn it over a plain tshirt and it is pretty warm- I didnt have to use layers to keep me warm. I have been wearing this jacket for couple of weeks and liked it so far.

Great Jacket
Was looking for a light weight jacket for super cold conditions. This jacket looked like it fit the bill and it certainly does. I am not a fan of super-puffy jackets as they limit my range of motion when working outdoors. This jacket seems to come in between the light and heavy jackets out there, while keeping the water repelling properties of the light ones and the warmth of the heavy ones. After one NY blizzard/snow removal and one Wisconsin winter, I have to say I could not be happier with this product. It cuts the wind, repels water, looks great and is very durable. It is worth twice what is sells for on this site. I would recommend this jacket to anyone and everyone, especially those who actually need to work outside.

Excellent purchase!
This is my first time using Altrec. I bought this jacket for my husband, who had a Denali jacket. He loves how light and warm this jacket is. I ended up buying 3 more for my family members. I couldn't find a better deal online and will continue to use Altrec for my North Face purchases!

I would cautiously recommend.
I got this for my husband for Christmas. While it is a beautiful coat, I had to return it for two reasons. Number one, it was definitely a lighter weight than I expected. Number two, it seemed to run very small. My husband has other North Face jackets in L but the Large was way way too small in this jacket. He is 5'10" and 170lbs with broad shoulders. It does seem like a nice jacket though, just keep these two things in mind when ordering.

Great Coat
I purchased the coat for my husband for Christmas who does not like big bulky coats. This coat was warm (I tried it on and went outside) and is not a fat looking coat. Hoping hubby will love it too. The brown color is beautiful and should go with everything.

The jacket is very light weight but not as warm as I had hoped. For days around freezing, it should be fine. Below that, you will need more.

Very satisfied.
Very warm, very lightweight. My son loves the fleece lined neck and pockets which feel warmer than the boys' version which does not have this feature.

Best for a middle layer, or
My son wanted a "North Face down jacket" for Christmas, requesting the Nuptse. I saw this for a little less money, and thought 550 fill would be sufficient for our Utah winters. After getting this jacket (with great speed and excellent service, I must say), this isn't quite what we need. The Nupste is what we really need. More insulation, tougher exterior fabric, more warmth.

i love this coat
this is by far my fav, its just the right amount of warmth for the completely un-predictable Arkansas winters. here its 20 degrees one day and 55 the next this coat looks great, feels great and keeps me as warm as i need to be. did i mention it looks great not to puffy. i have had many complements all i can say is that i love it!! thank you north face!!

Great Jacket, very warm
I used this jacket to walk to and from class in Minnesota. During the winter, it gets so cold that the inside of your nose freezes the minute you step outside. I wore this jacket with just a t-shirt throughout the winter (no camping, just in the city), but the temps got down to 0 and below. Was almost always comfortable. Not tremendously well-built, feels like it may tear easily if snagged on something. But for the price, very nice jacket. I use it now as an insulating layer for skiing in the Northwest. Very nice, warm jacket!!

Exactly what I wanted
This jacket is light and would not be good in extreme cold on its own. I purchased it as a liner for my North Face Shell and it is perfect for what I had in mind. Price was great.
