The Brown Apex Bionic jacket is one of the best looking jackets around! Totally awesome and functional. Windproof and warm on chilly days. My favorite Northface jacket ! My girlfriend likes it too! I've had the Apex Bionic Jacket for a few weeks here and I couldn't be happier. Its very thin and light and yet provides a surprising amount of warmth. Its thin enough to wear under a bigger jacket so its great for skiing too. The material is completely water proof and works as pretty good wind breaker. That said its still very breathable. I live in the northeast and I wouldn't expect this jacket alone to get me through the winter, but its great for those occasions when you don't want to lug around the big heavy winter coat. I'm a very happy customer, and I'd highly recommend it.

The Apex Bionic Jacket by North Face seemed to offer the best of both worlds; warmth and no-bulk styling. Unfortunately, it doesn't live up the manufacturer's claims. Living in the northeast, we experience cold, wind-driven rain in the fall. On the first inclement day I tried it out. It was a miserable experience. Although it did repel the rain, it offered no warmth at all. If you want to wear this jacket in combination with a sweatshirt it would work well, but that defeats the purpose of less bulk. This jacket would be better suited to the Mid-Atlantic states where the weather isn't as cold or demanding on outerwear.

The windproofing and water resistance works great. I wore this by itself with some long johns and the wind did not get through. Rain also beads off - just a little shake, and it rolls right off. Fit is nice and it is very comfortable.

I ordered the Apex Bionic Jacket for my teenage son for Christmas. He absolutely loved it! It is a perfect weight, but yet warm on those cold days. If you get a little something on it, it just wipes right off. The services was also great. I had my package within a couple of days.

This is the jacket I wanted for Christmas...I needed a warm jacket, even in Tallahassee Florida it gets cold, and the last two weeks have been record setting cold, and this jacket was just what I needed to get to class and to the baseball field...perfect. I'm 6'4"/218#'s and the fit couldn't be better...thanks for the long arm length, great to have a jacket that covers my wrists for a change!

I think the jacket is great. I got the blue one and the color is very nice. It is light weight and I love the style. I wore it a few times in 30 deg weather and it was warm enough. I wouldn't recommend using it in anything under that.

This jacket is thin, flexible and very warm. It's versatility in different weather conditions is what sets it apart. It's great in a variety of cold temperatures, and it will keep you dry. I only wish there was a fold-up hood. All in all, it is worth the price.

This is a great lightweight jacket. I have worn it every day since i got it. The medium was a perfect fit, I,m 5'8. I have worn it with just a single thin base layer and a thick fleece. It performs well on cold rainy days. even though the outside got wet it remained dry on the inside. I have yet to wear it during any high intensity activities.

I bought this for my teenage son's birthday. This jacket is really classic-looking and versatile. It can be dressy or casual, depending on the need. I did have to order a size larger than I initially ordered. My son is about 5'10" and weighs 150 lbs. Based on other reviews (and the sizing chart), I ordered him a medium. When he tried it on, the arms looked a tad short and the shoulders were slightly snug when he zipped the jacket. I sent it back and ordered the large--perfect! Now he has a little growing (filling out) room. Overall, a nice jacket. My first experience with Altrec was great and I appreciated the super fast shipping, too.

The Apex jacket has a better fit that any jacket I own. It is just the right weight of fabric for casual wear at the office and looks great. I would recommend the Apex Bionic Jacket without hesitation.

Great for the run up the lake or down the river during spring, when the weather can and does change at the drop of hat. At 45 to 60 mph keep wind out and me warm. When light rain would start did not have to change into rain suit.

Fits well. Long arms. That's good, since I'm 6' 1". Waterproof. Lightweight, but warm. Good pockets. I much prefer the fabric to standard fleece, which pills and looks ugly after a while. Two features I particularly like -- a waist cincher, and velcro on the end of the sleeves which cinches them around wrist. Nice colors, too. I can see using this as a three season jacket (not summer).

I am a tall woman (6'2") with a slim build and this jacket was perfect in a men's small. The sleeves and torso were both long enough for me. So far I'm very happy with the fit and performance of this jacket.

I love this jacket. In the first week I had it, I wore it to Fenway to see a Red Sox game, at the end of September. We were down front, near home plate, when it started to pour buckets! My hat & head got soaked, but my Apex Bionic kept me dry and warm. I'm amazed at the protection level it provides for such a light jacket. Nice looking too.

I have long arms, being 6'2" tall, and this jacket fits great with longer sleeves than most jackets.The cut is perfect with just enough room underneath for layering. I was doing early season work at the mountain last week in a downpour and stayed dry and warm. The style is bomb. Get one, Why Worry, Be Happy!

This is the best jacket I have ever purchased. Already used it in rain and had no problems, and kept warm in 33 degree weather. Sizing was a bit tricky for me. I am 5'7" and weigh 185. I needed a Large, and the sleeves were a bit long, so I just rolled them.

I have worn this jacket in all sorts of weather and it never disappoints me. If it's too cold, I just throw a zip up hoodie underneath it and it gives me the insulation I needed. Other than that, it is a great windbreaker and I would recommend it to anyone. I have 3 of this very same jacket.

Really nice jacket. Got it for a trip to Russia because I wanted something warm and light, and that is exactly what I got. It is extremely warm and lightweight. They do run big in the sleeves so I went with a Large where I normally wear a XL, but you can't go wrong with this jacket.

I'm 6'2, 175 and a large fits perfect. I tested this jacket out yesterday while cross country skiing. Temperature, 10 degrees, wind 25 to 30 mph, otherwise "nasty". All I had was a long sleeve running shirt, hooded sweatshirt, and the "bionic" as an outer layer. I was out for about an hour and was able to work up a sweat. Great jacket! Altrec also had the best price, fast shipping and best sight to get around on. Will definitely buy from again!

The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket is a very nice jacket. I haven't really had much of a chance to use it so I can't say much about its actual performance. I can say that it is very well made with great attention to detail. My only complaint is that to get a chest size that fit me I had to order one size up so my sleeve and the bottom hem are a little long. Do yourself a favor and actually measure your chest, arms, etc and use the chart to see what size you are going to need. I can live with the extra length because I will use it mountain biking sometimes and the extra length in the sleeves will be a plus. Altrec's price on the blue one that I got was great and shipping was fast.

I bought this as one of my son's Christmas gifts. He wears it constantly and loves the feel/look. It shipped and was delivered exactly on the date that Altrec/Fedex said it would arrive. Northface runs a bit large on sizes though. He is 6'0 and thin and the (L)arge fits him well. I am 5'1l and check in at 205 and it fits me great too. Be careful if you're average size and thinking of an XL unless you like extremely loose fitting clothes.

I am honestly, a cheapskate, so when I saw this jacket on sale back in 2004, I bought it because it looked cool. I got lots of compliments on it. I lost the jacket a couple months later and immediately bought another at full price, which is completely out of character for me. The jacket is TOTALLY WINDPROOF. Since I first bought the jacket, a waist cord was added to keep drafts from coming up from underneath; they also added straps on the cuffs to keep drafts from coming up the sleeves. The jacket wicks water great, but is not meant to keep you dry in a downpour. Wind doesn't stand a chance when you're downhill skiing...it's TOTALLY WINDPROOF. This jacket is great almost everywhere; around town or on the slopes. You need at least 2, maybe 3. By the way, a friend eventually found my lost jacket and I started collecting them ever since.

The fit is pretty good. I am 5'10, 190 lbs, and a Large fits me perfectly except for the sleeves. A tad bit long on the sleeves, but that is ok. It generally is hard for me to find a combination of slim fit, good shoulder width, as well as right sleeve length. I will be wearing this as it begins to get colder. My older North Face (5 years old) is on it's way out. I bought this one because it is basically the same model.

I have received several positive compliments on the Men's Apex Bionic Jacket. It is considerably warm, very durable, and super comfortable. The price is reasonable considering the high quality of the jacket. The jacket does contour to a person's body, so purchasing the right size is important. I am in the process of purchasing the same jacket in another color from this site.

At first, I was disappointed that the item I ordered was discontinued and never ship to me. I only found this out by my continued calls to Altrec. Altrec, after they realized the outcome of the ordered item helped me on the phone and we decided on a different color Northface jacket. They also shipped it overnight to me. I have ordered every year for the last three and have been pleased with them. I would highly recommend this company as your choice. The prices are great.

This is easily my most favorite coat I have ever owned. It is light weight, forms to the body well, and is very warm! It was 12 degrees with blowing snow last night and not only did I stay warm, but completely dry. Great purchase at the best price I could find.

My husband loves this jacket. It's a little dressier with the smooth outside/fleece inside and flat front. Kinda like a preppy windbreaker but with all the bells and whistles of a North Face, warm, adjustable sleeves, chest pocket and adjustable waist. Added bonus is that my hubby looks so handsome in it too!
