Sizing Review
February 22, 2012

I've read a bunch of reviews about this jacket and many people have indicated they needed to size up. Maybe that's personal preference*, but I can attest that this jacket runs true to size. I am 5'10" and 190 lbs with a 41/42 inch chest. I wear mediums in Mountain Hardware, TNF, etc. This jackets fit size feels no difference than other brands or or styles. A few observations: - With the liner in: I can fit a knit sweater, tshirt and thermal. Fit is a little tight, but still comfortable. - With the liner out: I can fit a medium weight down jacket underneath. Fit is comfortable and not tight. - Size Large would be appropriate if I really wanted to have layers upon layers of clothing underneath. * My personal preference: not too much excess fabric; a more athletic fit.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value

Super Versatile Jacket
February 19, 2012

This is a great jacket with the usual high quality materials, construction and thoughtful details you expect from North Face. Not only is it 3-jackets-in-one, but there are other North Face fleece jackets that will zip into its wind-resistant shell. Get a size larger unless you prefer a very slim fit. At 5'6" tall/+-165 lbs., a medium usually fits, but I will exchange it for a large because, while it does zip, another layer would make it uncomfortably snug--for my tastes, anyway.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value
Comfort: 5 / 5
Durability: 5 / 5

AWESOME!!!
February 11, 2012

The best choice for the winter. It is the most used jacket in my closet. True to it's size. It looks clean cut and well designed. Good quality fabric and manufacturing. Very versatile, because it can be worn as a fleece and the jacket can be worn as a lighter weight jacket. So stop wasting your time looking for a winter jacket. This is it, just click and buy it, do your self a favor!!! Yes it is that warm. I took it to work and wore this in super cold weather and never penetrated the jacket. I highly recommend it!!!

Wonderful Jacket
February 03, 2012

I picked this lighter weight jacket, because I like to layer when skiing. It was a wonderful choice, and love the blue color. I plan to take this jacket to Florida for cool nights, and for rainy days. The inside fleece is easy to remove, and looks great. I ordered a medium, and large size. Ended up with the large size. Used the online return link from Altrec, and return was a snap. My wife is ordering a jacket from Altrec now, and I plan to order from them again.

Cons: hood is not removable

Perfect transitional jacket
January 04, 2012

I live in Chicago and the winters get cold and snowy here. This jacket is perfect for the transitional months of fall and early winter and late winter and early spring. If I'm not going to be spending a lot of time outside I will even wear it in the middle of winter. The fleece is super warm and cozy and unlike some fleece jackets I've owned, it also blocks the wind effectively.

Legit Jacket
January 02, 2012

I bought this for Skiing and it is a legit jacket. The inner liner is sweet for casual wear as well! I'm about 5'8 140lb and I got a small. It fits really well! I would recommend this jacket 100 percent I bought the wicked beanie with it and it looks nice. If you need a good ski jacket get this one! Plus the inner liner you get 2 jackets its legit! Altrec gives super fast and free. My order got here 2 days before it was supposed to!

Sizes run small
December 31, 2011

I received the Men's Bantum Fleece Triclimate Jacket in large today. I am 5'9, 190 pounds and I have been wearing a North Face Denali fleece in large for 4 years. I checked the size chart and I fell within the parameters of a size large. So, I figured I would fit this jacket in large just fine. However, I found it was tight in the upper back, chest and around my biceps. Also, the sleeves seemed a few inches short. Around the waist and the length were just right. I plan on exchanging it for an extra large to see how that works. Otherwise, it seemed like a great jacket.

Pros: Build quality, Great value
Cons: sizes run small

This is a great looking and seemingly functional jacket but unfortunately, it runs a bit small. I bought this jacket in large for my dad, but it was too tight in the shoulders (he usually wears large). I have returned it and will now purchase the x-large and see if that has a better fit.

Good Jacket
June 20, 2011

I would say it's a good jacket but it makes no difference from other products like cheaper columbia. Or it might be I have not felt about some significant difference. I think TNF is slim fit so that it really looks in better shape. I will recommend this product in this price.

best winter jacket ever
December 26, 2010

it is an awesome jacket for winter. Triclimate is the perfect for the cold weather. Inner fleece is warm and well designed to wear standalone. i have never own this kind of jacket before but now i realized that it is money worth. The size is also fit to body. it is light weighted that makes different with other heavy jackets that i used to wear. I strongly recommend this product. Probably all northface jacket.

Bantum Fleece Jacket
December 15, 2010

I just received this jacket and figured I would try it out as soon as I got home to do some errands. Considering it was less than 20 degrees outside I figured it would be a good test. The jacket fits perfect for me, I purchased a medium sized one ( I am medium everything) and it fit great. With the jacket on I didn't feel the harsh wind blowing at me and with the fleece stopping the wind from coming inside the jacket I was very comfortable. I can't wait till it snows to try this thing out. Great buy.
