Needed a warm boot with good traction for winter. My Solomon clogs just weren't cutting it anymore. These boots are definitely warm. All the insulation makes them feel a little tight at first but they were breaking in on my first walk. They do run small. I ordered a half size up and at first I thought it mite be a little small but as I started walking they began to loosen up. I wore them right after hurricane sandy came through and they had plenty of grip when having to walk on a wet lawn and street covered with wood and other debris.

Nice Boots
December 26, 2012
I love Northface Products. The Chilkat boots are no exception. They look amazing and have a great build quality. They are very comfortable but they do run a little small so go at least a half size bigger than normal. I am always impressed how light Northface boots are. I cant wait to get these out in the snow and put them to the real test.
Pros: Build quality, looks, Cons: run smallgreat boot:)

Extremely Comfortable Boots
January 07, 2012
I needed some boots that were comfortable and warm for cold weather. These boots definitely met my needs. Not only are they extremely comfortable, but they are also great for walking in snow or wet conditions. They also look good with jeans! I would recommend these boots to anyone!

Build Quality: Great. Style: Cool. Durability: Awesome. Well deserving of five stars. Only problem is that the boots felt half a size smaller than marked, so if you plan to buy these boots, you might want to up your size by +0.5 or 1.0, but in all great value for money

Quality boot...
February 06, 2013
I normally where a size 9 in North Face shoes, I originally ordered a 9.5 and they were too small, and had to be returned. I eventually got a size 10, and they fit with 2 sock layers. When I reordered the 10, the boot was on sale, and they honored the sale price which was nice. Have worn the boots winter hiking/snowshoeing in Taos, and they kept me toasty warm, whereas usually my toes and feet get quite cold. Good product, happy with them and happy with the customer service.
Pros: warm, all weather, Cons: had to return to get correct sizeSturdy and warm great for ice!

I had the previous version of these Chilkat boots and the first thing I noticed about the Chilkat II is how warm they are. When I first tried them on, I thought I bought the wrong size because there is more insulation in this version compared to the Chilkat I. They felt tight at first at my normal size but I realize it was just so much insulation. The best feature of this boot is the grip. You can walk like ease on ice. I'm clumsy and in winter, I slip all the time on ice and snow, but now with these boots which have the best grip of any snowboot I've ever had. The only critique I have is that the inner liner seems to wear at the heel pretty easily but I think that's true of a lot of boots. One of the best winter boots out there at this price - do not hesitate to buy!
Pros: walk on ice!Solid Snowboot
December 26, 2011
My very picky son actually really liked these boots. They felt strong, substantial, and comfortable! It's been years since I could offer him warm weather proofed boots! They do seem to run a little large for the size, so you might want to consider ordering a half size smaller.
Run small, not very comfortable.

I wear a 10.5 to 11 depending on the brand, and this shoe was too short in an 11 for me. The overall comfort was not good--in the arch, etc. However, the look and quality seemed to be up to The North Face standards.

Good in winter
February 25, 2013
It is good to prepare for cold winter. However, it is so tight as its size. Order one size bigger than your casual size.
Nicely made boots....order up a size.
January 09, 2012
Love the build quality of these boots but do yourself a favor and order up at least 1/2 size. I ordered 1/2 size up and they are a little tight but when they wear in a bit so I suspect they will be perfect soon. Sharp looking boots.
Cons: order up a sizeDid you recently buy the The North Face Chilkat II Snowboots? Write a review.
Great Warm Boot
February 23, 2013
This boot is comfortable but sturdy enough to handle heavy snowy conditions and keeps you warm and dry. It's cool-looking and it's North Face, so you can trust them. I wear a 9.5 for most boots and ordered a 10 and it wasn't even close. Go anywhere from 1 to 1.5 sizes higher, I had to make a return! [It's the lining that makes it fit tighter.] But otherwise--great boot, highly recommended!
Pros: warm, durable, stylish, Cons: had to return because of sizing problemsGood boot.
January 08, 2012
Good solid boot for the sale price. These are a little stiff and ski boot like in fit so you would want to change into others for indoors but these do the job to keep feet warm and dry out in the snow. The fit is narrow and small ... I would recommend ordering a 1/2 size up. I am usually a 10.5 or 11 but needed a 11.5 in this boot.
Pros: warm, waterproof, good support, Cons: stiff, not for indoorsWhat a Pair of Boots
February 10, 2013
WOW ! We just dealt with almost a foot of snow in NY and couldn't wait to use these boots for the first time. They were just what I needed. Comfortable, warm and waterproof. After snowblowing the block and spending four hours in the snow my feet were happy little campers. Did order one size up and glas that I did as the padding throughout the boot is heavy. Best pair of boots I ever had. Highly recommended.
Pros: waterproof, comfortable, warm, stylish, Cons: buy at least one size upExcellent Boot

Very well made boot. Very comfortable. Glad I went 1/2 size up though as recomended. Wore them this weekend in the melting snow. Stayed dry and warm. Can't wait to try them with snowshoes.
highest quality and best price
January 02, 2013
the mens chilkat snow boots are the perfect boots for wet/cold weather. these boots fit very snug because of the extra insulation and should probably be ordered a half size larger than what you usually would get. these boots are well built for for several seasons in the snow and altrec offers the best price of anyone else.

Love this boot!

Super quality boot and perfect for our ski trip this year! Water and weather proof. They do run small so order at least 1/2 size up. My husband was also impressed with the comfort of the boot.
THE BEST
July 04, 2012
I have owned several pairs of NORTH FACE BOOTS and they never fail to impress me - walking around in deep snow they keep your feet warm and dry - if you can't afford to pay full price just watch this site they always mark them down several times during the off season.
Pros: color choices, warmth, waterproofGreat Boot, Runs Small
January 07, 2012
Love these boots, very comforatble but rugged enough for any outdoor use. They do run a little small due to the warm lining. I would recommend ordering a 1/2 size larger. Would highly recommend this shoe for casual and outdoor wear.
Pros: good style, durable yet comfortable, Cons: lining makes them fit smallLove!

Great Boots
February 11, 2012
I love these boots. They keep me warm and dry, which in my profession as a television photojournalist, is a big plus. I would highly recommend these boots to anyone who must be outside for long periods. These boots protect my ankles from getting wet. They are well built and I expect many years of service from them.
Tight fit
January 12, 2012
I'm a 10, but got an 11.5 in this boot, so go bigger by at least 1 size. Otherwise it's nice. North Face has a similar one that is pull on, but there's too much room at the top in between shin and boot, feels weird. This fits better and laces hang in these clips near the top, so it's really easy to slip on/off (as long as you have the right size)
Great Name, Poor Boots
January 02, 2012
Looked forward to receiving these North Face Boots. Figured they have to be great and comfortable to carry the North Face name, right? Wrong! I can't figure out how a Company would put their name on a tight unmercifully uncomfortable boot like these. For the life of me I'm dumfounded. Before you think that I have a grudge against NF you'd be totally wrong. I've been a dtrong proponent of NF for years, still am. That's why I can't believe they'd error so bad. Look. I wear a size 10m, and still have enough toe room. I purchased these in a 10.5, logic being the extra room one might need with diffent activities. I wore a North Face light-weight hiking socks,(which are fantastic), and I'm telling you they are killers in the worst sense. In todays world, there is no reason that one should believe; "well I'll try them for a week to see how they break-in". This isn't the 1950's.. it's 2012, Get with it North Face!

These boots r made for walking
January 10, 2012
I rented these boots once for a hike thru Rocky Mountains (Hidden Valley to be precise) . These boots have exceptional grip on show, icy surfaces. It made me feel so confident with these boots on , i was cutting thru the snow like a Elk. Soon after my trip in the Rocky Mountains, I bought these same shoes from Altrec.com which are doing a great deal on these boots. I highly recommend this product if you love the outdoors and are looking for great boots for hiking , getting out in the Snow..
Pros: exceptional grip, great protection, warmQuality Product
January 12, 2012
I ordered these for my husband who works outside all winter doing construction - while we have to return them for a bigger size, he's really excited about the quality of the boot - the rubber toe will keep his feet dry, and the lack of a removable liner is a huge plus for him - he doesn't like it when they bunch up or come out. The tread on the bottom is good for Wisconsin winter and he said they seem like they will be very durable. Will definitely order North Face boots again!
Great Boots
December 16, 2012
I've been looking for a good pair of boots for when it gets cold out. My feet are always cold in the winter and I finally decided to buy these. I must say these are some of the best boots ever made! They keep your feet SUPER warm and comfortable at the same time. You must buy at least a half of size up from your normal size. You might think you need a full size up because they are going to be very tight at first, but after wearing them for a little while they loosen up and fit perfectly.
LOVE MY Chilkat II,s against foot Pain, WOW
April 25, 2012
When my feet feel like their burning from extremely cold freezing chronic foot pain. The North Face Chilkatt II SNOW BOOTS provide a nice warm comforting effect that relieves my most severe chronic foot pain. I only wish I had discovered these many years sooner. Although I could wear a size 13, I find that the size 14 in the North Face size range provides the most comfort and pain relief. I also really liked the Zinc Grey/Deep Water Blue colored boots, and enjoy wearing them inside when there's a chill in the house. My feet are really sensitive to any cool feet conditions.

This boot is a great quality. Heavy duty. Keeps my feet warm. I expect them to last me quite a while. They do run small. I had to exchange them for a whole size larger.
