I got this jacket for my first real winter. It saved my life greatly. Negative wind shields and temperatures and it was amazing. You can break it down into two different jackets and use it for wind, rain, snow. It is very versatile. I got a small and it fits perfect.

It is a great product. Well worth the price. This jacket is very water and wind resistant. It could be a little warmer, but its not bad. Great for winter hiking and camping, as well as every day use. And it looks great too!

I decided to order this jacket because I heard good things about it from a friend. And this jacket keep me warm in the recent snow storm, I live in Illinois. I bought this Jacket because it is "breathable", water proof, warm and wind proof. I have only owned it for a month but I am very satisfied with the purchase so far. In the recent snow strom, I didn't even feel the wind chill. So, I'm very happy to recommend this Jacket to all my friends.

Excellent Wind Blocker
January 24, 2011

I decided to order this jacket because I heard good things about it from a friend. I was wearing a leather jacket before this purchase and it wasn't keeping me warm in Northeast weather plus leather cleaning was pain. I bought TNF Condor Triclimate Jacket because it is "breathable", water proof, warm, not as bulky compared to other Triclimate styles, and most importantly wind proof. I have only owned for a week but I am very happy with the purchase so far. I wore it in 7 degree F over a fleece and it kept me comfortably warm. Most importantly I didn't even feel the wind chill. It weighs about 5 lbs. I am 5 feet 8 and 155 lb. Medium size fits perfectly. I highly recommend this jacket for everyday use in cold windy northeast winter conditions. It is costly but you are getting 3 jackets in 1 that should last a long time. I can't wait to use the soft shell interior jacket in early spring.

Awesome Coat
January 21, 2012

I was on the fence with this coat for some time. I finally pulled the trigger on the purchase. I have to say, I'm glad I did. This coat is everything I hoped it would be and the buying experience could not have been better. Altrec rocks!!! I purchased the coat and one week later the price was reduced. They refunded me the difference. Very cool.

Great!

This is an awesome jacket. The North Face really makes some quality stuff. They really don't use cheap material and i have to say that whatever I buy from them is worth every penny. I would recommend this to anyone who is serious about winter sports. I keeps you warm and the cold air out.

Excellent
October 27, 2007

It is one of the best jacket I ever have. Zippers everywhere, pockets, adjustable cuffs, hood, etc... what can I tell you?? it's the best!! If you remove the internal layer and substitute for the North Face Denali Jacket, you can face very cold temperatures..... the only donwside in my opinion, it doesn't come with hand side pockets, it has napoleon style pockets.... which are sometimes uncomfortable...

Great product with great features
February 02, 2012

Because of the second, lighter jacket that zips into the outer shell, it seemed to fit a little more snug than anticipated. I am 5'11'' 190lb. I usually wear a large in jackets but this large was, again, thinner with the inner jacket inside. It is still a great jacket and I am just praying for snow just to try it out.

Great Jacket!
April 21, 2011

This is first ime I purchase from Altrec and I am totally satisfy. The jacket shipped very fast but it's too small at first time, so, I returned. It's no problem at all. Second time, I received the right size, it looks great. I can tell it's top quality and will last long time. It's worth for every penny.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Cons: Cost

Excellent All-Around Jacket!
December 30, 2009

I love mine-- not too bulky, very warm and comfortable. I wore mine right after Christmas with the wind chill in the teens; no problem at all. Probably good to around zero or so, more depending on layers worn beneath. Wore it to work today with temps in the 20's with just a t-shirt and dress shirt-- warm as toast. Awesome jacket, thanks to my wonderful wife!

February 21, 2012

I bought this jacket for my father, but M size fits small. My father is 5'8", 175 lbs, and i believe that a L would fit perfectly. overall, this is a good jacket.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value

Additional comments!
October 04, 2007

This review is in addition to the one written on 10/3/07. On the long slash side pockets, the zippers need to be finnished all the way to the bottoms and to the tops of the pockets. It is difficult to get something out of the bottom of the pockets because the short zippers restrict your hands. Also the inner jacket collar does not fit flush with the outer jacket collar even though the jacket. zippers are in place. It tends to bunch up! I, also, have another 3-in-1 jacket and the collars fit much smoother and are a flush fit! Other than these comments, the critique of 10/3/07 stands. Thank you. If the above critique is implemented, especially the pocket zipper situation, before I have a chance to my "Condor", I would like to exchange it.

This is an excellent product delivered exactly as promised. Well fitting and non-restricting. Shields out the wind and is moisture resistant. Would highly recommend product and service

Perfect winter jacket!
November 07, 2009

Well designed, not overly bulky, and plenty warm. If you're worried about wind, then the condor is the best choice of the Triclimate series; the inner apex liner stops the wind dead in its tracks.

Fantastic Jacket!

Great Jacket! Extremely warm for cold midwest winters. The zip out fleece is really convenient and easy to get in and out. I would recommend this as a great everyday winter jacket.

The Best!
October 03, 2007

Having thoroughly researched Tri-climate jackets, the North Face" Condor" appears to be among the very best 3-in-1 ski jackets available. The thick, waterproof outer jacket can take plenty of active use, whereas the highly wind resistant very attractive inner jacket will keep you snug in some of the coldest weather when coupled with the outer. And too, it is terrific looking and has my highest, very best rating!

My review is both for my North Face Condor jacket and Altrec. It was my first Altrec purchase and I was very pleased. Great website with very detailed information and product pictures from every angle made ordering very easy. No surprises...Great experience! To the jacket: Just about every feature of the jacket has been very good. Very warm; comfortable; water, snow and wind proof. After a bad experience with a lesser quality brand, I also look for good quality velcro closures on the wrists and heavy duty zippers. The zippers are solid but the velcro straps are already fraying and look like they will need repair/replacement in the spring. Overall, great jacket, just concerned about the velcro.

Great 3-in-1 Jacket
February 07, 2012

I bought the Condor Triclimate because i need one versatile winter jacket that is waterproof, warm and interchangeable. This jacket is great for all my purpose. I like the style and design of the outer shell, it's quite sleek and it probably has the best look in all triclimate jackets. It has two hand pockets and two chest pockets which also serve as ventilation purpose. The liner jacket itself is actually Apex jacket, which is quite popular as well. The jacket is warm and wind-resistent and is good for not too cold days. However if you want more warmth, you need more layers or another zip-in jacket. I suggest Redpoint insulation jacket which has PrimaLoft insulation. Not too hot as down but warmer than fleece.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great value
