Great allround jacket

My sixteen year old son wanted this jacket as his one "do everything" outerwear item for this winter. We gave it to him for Christmas and he has worn it non stop since then. I wash it when it needs it in the evenings so he can wear it the next day. It is a great jacket. It fits well, is warm and he always looks nice. Although it seemed pricey at first, it is well worth the money as it is well made and keeps him warm. Although it is available on other internet sites, I felt most secure with your site and I was not disappointed. You confirmed my order via email immediately and the jacket came promptly via the shipping method I chose. Thanks, you're now on my favorites list.

This fleece is great for any kind of application. It is a warm layering fleece that can be zipped into TNF shells. It is also a very functional stand alone jacket. I love it and was very pleased with the cost/value factor.

Good quality, bad in function

I got this jacket after hearing how good it is. Indeed it is a very warm, comfortable and stylish jacket, but it really sucks when it comes to the battle. It doesn't do a good job when it's windy, it is very bulky and useless when layering, on top of that it's quite expensive. I used it during the first days backcountry snowboarding in the german alps, but had to switch to my old Haglöfs. It is indeed a very good jacket, better use it in town or in non serious mounaineering activities. I now use it during the winter in town when gotta go out.

I can't tell you how many different fleece coats I've had from different manufactures. This fleece is out of this world. I'm an avid backpacker / outdoor sporting enthusiast and really push my gear to its limits. The Denali took everything I threw at it. Very durable to the point of almost being indestructable. I love the underarm ventilation. You can go from feeling "as snug as a bug in a rug" to "where's that draft coming from" in two quick unzips. I also really appreciate the padding on the chest and elbows. When you are spending alot of time blowing on embers perched on your elbows, you soon realize what a plus this is. The only small almost insignificant drawback I have found (as is common in all fleece jackets) is the tendency for the fabric to pill or get clumpy. If you like this great! If you don't, simply throw it in the washer and out comes a brand new North Face Denali Jacket. I hope this helps

I'm getting older, the weather is getting colder, I'm starting to freeze when wearing my typical fall gear. Then I throw on my denali fleece. Oh yes, I'm totally warm again!!! Best fleece for the money and very durable. Not one complaint!!!

The Denali Northface Jacket is an excellent jacket. It keeps me warm on cold days, and wicks away sweat when I am hot. It's stylish, comfortable, and is great to layer under a ski/snowboard jacket shell. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. It's well worth the price.

The North Face Denali jacket is a great fleece jacket. I bought this because every other fleece I've had before was poor quality in my opinion. This is not an extreme weather jacket but it fares quite well in cool conditions. I recommend this jacket to any one who is looking for a cold weather all around jacket.

I have had one for some time now and I think it is the greatest fleece for cold/dry days, when it gets wet, just add a shell and you are in business. Great for layering. Well worth the $165.00 price tag, and will last a lifetime.

Comfortable, warm, and stylish

I found this on sale altrec.com at a very competitive price, needed a new jacket, and decided to try it out after hearing so many good things about it. I can honestly say I've never owned a jacket that I have loved wearing more than this. I often times find myself making excuses that the weather is cold enough (even when it feels great outside) to wear this jacket, not only because of how comfortable it is, but for how good it looks while being worn by anyone at all. Definitely would recommend the north face denali to others!

I have had many other fleece jackets but this is the greatest. I own the black/black and I can wear it with everything. It is part of my everyday woredrobe,I get on my clothes and put on my jacket. I have had it for 3 years and it still looks like new. I love this jacket!

Great jacket. Pit zips are ideal for climate versatility. Only problem is, like all fleece, burning embers do some serious aesthetic damage.

Best jacket ever

I had a Denali for years and ended up giving it away to a buddy because I'd outgrown it. As soon as I started looking for another, I realized how expensive they are! Then I found Altrec.com and got a great deal. It made it so easy to replace my jacket. Why'd I get the same one again? Because it's perfect. Great weight, warmth, pocket distribution, pit zips - come on! The deal was so good I bought another one for my wife!

I purchased this jacket for my son to bring back to college where it could be quite frigid at times. He gets great use out of it whether it's worn alone or under another jacket. It is stylish, well made, true to size, and an all round comfortable jacket. No regrets here!

warm but light

I first learned about you from my granddaughter who wanted one of these jackets because she said everyone had them. So I bought her one and when I took a look at it, got myself one also. Love it because it is so warm but light, also the front pockets are perfect for my cell phone and keys which are the two things I keep losing. I will keep you in mind when I have to buy other gifts. I have had this fleece jacket for 4 years now, it's held up to almost anything I can throw at it. Kinda bulky compared to the newest fabrics out, but can't beat the comfortable warm fit I get when I wear this NF fleece.

Everyone in my family as well as all of my friends owns the North Face Denali Jacket. It is such a useful item to have part of your wardrobe. It is quite versatile, and the workmanship on the clothing is above par. It will definitely outlast any sweatshirt you own now. If you don't have one already, please get it! You won't be sorry.

Too pricey for too little

I find it a bit odd you folks love this jacket so much and it was the same reason why I bought mine. The design is impeccable, others try to imitate but TNF is the real deal when it comes to such a solid design. The younger crowd eats this stuff up especially all the new colors it comes in. The pockets are excellent, great placement, good reinforcements for backpack straps and elbows. The bad parts outweigh this jacket as I bought more fleece jackets from different brands. Keep in mind, when I say this, I'm judging it by how much you are getting for the price paid. This jacket is terrible for windy days, it flat out makes you feel cold all over (except your chest area) unless you layer like crazy. The shoulder part is too bulky and unnecessary that it doesn't fit under shells well unless the shell is much larger as the other folks noted. It's not packable at all. There are better fleece out there without the TNF logo and design that function better and fit better. This is more for casual wear because it really isn't very "technical". I hear they made a Gore Windstopper version but it's very pricey.

He is very happy with warmth, and comfort, slightly concerned with wind stoppage. In combination with a good base layer, and external windproof shell, it is simply awesome. Thanks

The North Face Denali is very popular with the teenagers/college crowd in the South. We bought this for our son and he loves it. It interfaces easily with his North Face Mountain Jacket for colder/wet days but he usually wears it by itself. The extra pockets are a great feature and the fabric cover on the upper portion of the jacket help protect it when carrying backpacks, purses, etc. The Denali is not cheap and you can get quality fleece jackets for less but if you want the interface capability with a North Face shell or a good looking 300 Polartec 300 weight fleece, the Denali is a good choice. The Altrec price and overall service were some of the best of any web site we looked at.

Way to big and bulky to wear under and jacket and isn't windproof, why spend $165 on something that isn't windproof. Please don't waste your money. Buy another fleece. North Face product on the whole are too bulky for layering and for real activity.

The Denali jacket is excellent. They run a little big though, so think about getting a smaller size. ALTREC customer service is great, they were true to their word! Def recommend getting a Denali from ALTREC.

For the cold and the windless

This fleece is great for cold conditons but is of little use in windy condtions. It lives up to its water-repellant name in misty or snowy conditions, but the 300 weight fleece is no less impermeable to wind than the 200 weight. The nylon reinforcements are great and the pockets are perfect. The pit zips top every thing off along with a drawcord hem. As with other North Face products, this fleece is also quite durable and lasts for many years.

Pro: Quality construction. Right amount of pockets at the right places. Reinforcement on shoulders, elbows, and cuffs. Pit zippers. Adjustable hem w/ elastic cord. Good on non- windy/cold/dry days. Nice and warm worn under a shell. Looks good. Con: Expensive. Collar cut too small. Too roomy at the chest area. Terrible on windy/cold/wet days. Ideal Buyer: Anyone who loves name brand but does not spend too much time outdoors.

Bought it to brave this winter's -5 windchill here in NJ, and it has exceeded my expectations. Elastic wrist band closes arms off to wind chills, ditto for the zip cord at the bottom. Got the men's version, love my 4 pockets. Great fit overall, very warm and comfy, high quality workmanship and materials. I have the black/black, and it goes with everything. Love it. Wouldn't give it back if they doubled what I paid for it.

3 season jacket. beats any other fleece hand down

It is a very well made jacket, great for wearing to school or in the car, but honestly is so bulky, you can't layer with it while skiing or anything. It also gathers soo much dirt and lint. I have to use a lint brush every day to get all of the crap off of it. When buying fleece, please do research and buy a warm windproof one you can layer with the the Patagonia R2 or R4, or MHW or Arc'Teyrx which are much better in quality and design.

300 fleece is great as a mid layer - but no wind resistance at all. Nylon reinforcement covers so much of the shoulders & chest that I felt like I had 2 different coats on (it's a lot warmer.) If you want a compressible mid-layer, buy it. Otherwise, get a WindPro, Windstopper or soft-shell/fleece jacket.

This is perhaps the best jacket I own.

TNF denali jacket is an outstanding jacket for both out the rough and around town. I'm normally a cold person but wearing the Denali takes care of that problem. I highly recommend this jacket.

This jacket is an excellent insulation layer. It is comfortable stylish and had good ventilation. It is a good value too since it is very versitle. When the weather gets cold and wet simply wear it under your shell.

Great fleece jacket, high quality construction and fabric. Still looks like new after several years of hard use. Perfect for chilly, dry days or as a liner, but not great in wet or windy weather. I use mine for everyday wear, too. Fits well, looks good. Well worth the price!

Warm and Light

I love this jacket! Its lightweight and very warm. On top of that its built for the outdoors while wearing a pack, with nylon overlays on the forearms and shoulders. It has loads of pockets which come in handy too. The only problem is that it is not very wind resitant, which was addressed in thier new Gore Windstopper version of the Denali. I can't wait for mine to wear out, so I can buy the newer version...its gonna be long wait.
