Description

If you do enough ski pant research and product comparisons, you'll probably decide that most performance ski pants fall into two categories: Ski pants that are highly waterproof but rigid, and ski pants that are stretchy but only water resistant. The North Face Freedom Insulated Pant is one of the few that offers plenty of mobility and waterproof protection. That's because The North Face relaxed the fit through the seat, knees, cuffs and thighs in their Freedom Insulated Pant. It's a free-fitting choice that layers well, although the Heatseeker™ insulation is usually warm enough for most winter recreation enthusiasts. Along with the articulated knees, the Freedom Insulated Pant features exterior thigh vents with mesh gusset linings to help keep you cool without allowing excess moisture to filter among your inner layers. These thigh vents are coupled with The North Face Chimney Venting™ system to help distribute cool air inside the pant.

Men's Freedom Insulated Pants 4.8 5 14 14
Long Length Great Hard to get ski pants in long enough lengths. These are well made and look good and fit a tall person. They look good and have some insulation, so they should work for a range of weather. January 27, 2012
Size I'm a 34x32 and these pants were skin tight in a size Medium. That is unwearable in winter, especially with layers, or with the intent of added flexibility. Get a size large if you are at or near those measurements. January 4, 2012
All Around All The Time I'll use these pants throughout the winter for everything from plowing the driveway to downhill skiing. This winter's slow start has not presented the plowing test but these pants performed great on the slopes. I tried them out on the limited trails at Sugarloaf in Maine. The trip up the mountain on the ski lift was quite comfortable, warm and toasty! On downhill ski runs the venting performed as designed, still warm but not sweaty. The pants certainly helped maximize my slope time! At 5'10" and 170-pounds with not a lot of body fat I'm pretty sensitive to winter cold and these pants, combined with my North Face Vortex jacket, were just the ticket! ...And don't sweat the baggy fit comments, roomy but not baggy is a better description. Finally... pants that fit! I bought a pair of these for my husband last winter, and he liked them so much that I bought him another pair this year. He works (farms) in them every day that it is cold. He says they are the warmest, most comfortable pants he has ever had. I was worried how well they would wear, but they do not have any rips as of yet, so they are very durable. My husband is 6'5" and weighs 200 lbs. I ordered a large tall and they fits nicely and look nice as well. I would definitely reccommend these pants to anyone looking to stay warm in style!! TNF Freedom Insulated Pants I have used these pants for two seasons now and I have not yet found anything to complain about. They fit well, they are comfortable, they are warm, and they are dry. I've read some reviews that there is some wear near the cuff where it rubs with bindings, but I've never experienced that. They are also available without the insulation, if you do a lot of spring skiing or if you prefer the ability to adjust your warmth. The pockets are great and hold everything but don't puff out or feel like they're taking over half of the leg. Be sure to get a size that fits well since there are no suspenders... otherwise you may wind up with a bit of snow below the belt. May 15, 2011
Great Multi-Purpose Winter Pant I purchased these pants mainly for ice fishing in northern Wisconsin. I had no problems staying warm in -10 degree weather for 4 hours straight. For size comparison, I have a 32" waist and ~32" inseam and ordered a large-regular. Very happy with this purchase! March 4, 2011
Very good and a great price too I would definitely recommend these to a friend They are beautiful just a very soft and unique piece I am proud to have them as part of my beautiful collection of ski pants. March 4, 2011
Best ski pants I have found yet! Best fitting, best material, best looking ski pants I have found. I am 6'2", 230lbs, so I need a proper fitting durable ski pant. The XL Regular length is the best! Warm and so comfortable. The vents are perfect too. Great fit. January 7, 2011
Nice pants These are good basic ski pants. They are warm, waterproof and comfortable. What else do you need? December 26, 2010
It does insulate the sizes were a bit tricky, I wear 32-34 and I ordered Medium, i tried the Small from a friend and it fit better. No complaints at all about the quality. December 28, 2009
great pant! I just received these snow pants for my husband. They are stylish and very well made - he is going to love them! Definitely worth the money and they were delivered in record time. December 18, 2009
Excellent experience I have been purchasing outdoor products from Altrec for several years. The service is friendly, products arrive promptly (often with no shipping cost), and returns are hassle-free. Prices are competitive. With the purchase of the North Face Men's Freedom Insulated Pants, I was especially happy to find a small extra long to fit my tall, slim nephew. December 13, 2009
Fast shipping, excellent service I chatted online to find out which snow pants to order...the agent was very helpful. The Insulated pants were a gift and liked very much. February 10, 2008
