I love the features of this coat. Fits great and keeps me warm. I only have 2 concerns with this coat. 1) The coat is somewhat short and doesn't cover much past your waist. 2) The only way to use some of the features is to take the inner coat out. Other than that it is awesome.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useNice Jacket

Very impressed with this jacket. As with other North Face apparel it is very well made. Especially like the fact that there's room in the shoulders to move freely. Very warm. Maybe too warm - this may be the only NF tri-climate jacket that does not have pit zippers. Will have to wait to see how that works out when less cold weather comes.

good jacket
December 13, 2011
I bought this jacket for my husband as a chrismas gift. he always needs work in a cold lab and i hope he will not feel cold when he wears it . It is a very warm jacket and lighter than the same style of other brands. my husband is 5'10" and 122 lbs, I ordered the small size and it fits great. The sleeve length is good on his arms and there is plenty of room in the waist and shoulders. He can wear a sweater in it. Great design. There are many zippered pockets on the outside and inside and he loves them. I even found that a glasses cloth was fixed in a pocket of sleeve on right side . It is convenient, because my husband wears glasses. The color asphalt is beautiful. This has been already second time I purchased from Altrec and I am totally satisfy. I'm very happy to recommend this Jacket to all my friends.
Pros: Great design, Great valueKeeping warm on campus

This coat came just after the first snow and let me tell you - what a difference! I have an early morning practice and had been dreading the walk across campus til t his coat arrived. Now... I stay so warm and protected - I love it. Bring on the cold weather - I'm set! It really resists the wind and weather while keeping me very warm. The fit is great and shuts out the wind in all the right places. I am very happy with this investment.

Review of TNF Headwall Triclimate Jacket

I needed a thicker jacket this winter because of an unusual cold snap that has been lingering in the Pacific Northwest this year (Jan 2013). I am usually able to get by most winters with The North Face's hooded Denali, but with the colder weather and moving to a new college that has a bigger campus (which means I'm spending more time walking between classes) I needed something warmer. I usually stick with The North Face products for this kind of stuff because of their build quality and lifetime warranty, and am very glad I did! The jacket is very warm! Currently the weather out here is just below freezing, and I no longer feel like I should start shivering on my walks between classes. I went with TNF Red. The jacket itself is stylish and fits well. I am 6'0" and 135 pounds. I ordered a medium, and it fits perfect length-wise. It is a slightly bigger on the width size, but not overly so. However, so is everything else for someone who is tall and skinny like myself. It is a winter coat, so do expect it to be heavier than TNF's other popular products, like their rain coats or their polar fleeces. This is advertised as one of their snowboard/ski jackets. Another thing to add is you can use TNF's other lighter products as a liner for this jacket. The internal zipper for the included liner mated up with my Denali perfectly and the Denali has the tri-clips to hold it up on the back and the sleeves. Why would someone want to do this? I have no idea, its warm as it is, and if i ever used the Denali as a liner, I would probably start sweating. A few features I did not see mentioned in the reviews include the media pocket with a headphone cut-out, and a snow goggle holder in the left sleeve with a removable microfiber cloth. I highly recommended this jacket! It can also be used for other seasons and purposes. The shell can be worn alone and used as a rain coat. The liner can be worn alone for the brisk days. I highly recommended this jacket if you are looking for something to shield you against the elements, and still have functionality in seasons other than winter.

My son is in college in Chicago and after 2 years wearing fleece winter jackets he decided to get serious about staying warm and dry. This jacket isn't bulky and has a lot of movement and flexibility. More importantly it keeps the wind, sleet, and cold off his skin and is a perfect warm and dry top layer on bitter cold days. Too soon to comment on durability but fit and function are fantastic.
Outstanding Jacket

I purchased this jacket as an early Christmas present for my husband. I really wanted to get him something warm, durable, as well as something he would get a lot of use out of. This jacket has exceeded my expectations, and I probably would have paid more for it considering how well-made it is. The sizing chart was completely accurate, and prevented me from ordering it in a size that would have been too large. The medium fit my husband (~ 5'8", 165 lbs, 32/30 pant) extremely well with room to layer underneath. I absolutely love the 3-in-1 system, and I am in awe over how warm this jacket is when worn with the shell and liner together. (Yes, I tried it on & wore it outside!) The color, Needle Green, is great - very unique, and I believe that it will hide "dirt" well. My husband is excited to try the pieces individually this spring and next fall. He also loves all of the zippered pockets on the outside and inside, as well as the fact that the hood is detachable. Overall, this has been a fantastic item, and I would not hesitate purchasing this item again!

My husband wore this on a business trip to Alaska, and it kept him very warm. It fits well and looks good. He plans to wear it skiing next week, and I expect it to perform as well there as it did in the Alaskan winter.

Great looking jacket. It is very warm in frigid conditions. The price is appropriate for the quality and 3 in 1 system that you get. I am 6'2" and 200 lbs, I ordered the XL and it fits great. It was difficult to find a jacket that was long enough in the sleeves, but this one is perfect. I am very satisfied with this purchase.
