Great Warm Baselayer

I love this shirt. It can be used as a warm base layer, or I like to run in it on cold mornings. It breathes well with a thinner material on the back, and it keeps me plenty warm with thicker material in the front. It runs a little big. I am 6"2", 170 lbs, and a medium fits just right. The thumb anchors are another nice touch.

A long time user (30 years) of TNF products and I found a product - The Impulse Long Sleeve shirt - that replaces all of my other base layer tops. I can ski all day in cold, teamed with TNF Momentum 1/2 zip or warmer conditions and stay dry and comfortable. At 6ft - 210 lbs., the fit is comfortably snug with an athletic cut. When not on the slopes, the impulse shirt delivers when cycling or running. A must have for skiers and adventurist alike. Lastly because it is TNF, these products are very durable and last forever.

The North Face Impulse long sleeve shirt is a great Cool Weather running shirt. I am particularly fond of the Graphite Gray/Molten Red color. The back has a waffle type pattern that wicks moisture away and there are panels by the armpits that are the same. I like how the waffle panels are the same Graphite as the rest of the shirt (different from a previous version in another color). Also, the sleeves are longish with thumbholes so I don't need gloves on cooler days. I find this shirt perfect for 40ish weather running. Also layering underneath a shell if it's colder or windy. Size was perfect for me in a large (6'0" 185). Sometimes I wear medium for the layering pieces but this was perfect in Large. North Face quality shows throughout. Reinforced stitching at the thumbholes is excellent touch (I have seen these tear through on other brands) !!! Although I am personally not a fan of the 1/4 zip version, there is a mock neck version of this I would definitely buy also !!!
