EXCELLENT purchase

I recieved my TNF Mechanic jacket yesterday morning which was right on time. I had originally purchased a TNF Cornice jacket and even though I have always bought TNF jackets in size large, it was way too big, I am 5ft. 10in. tall and weigh 175lbs. I decided to order a TNF Mechanic jacket since the Cornice wasn't available in a medium anymore and boy am I glad I did. First off, this jacket has everything I wanted in a winter/outdoor activity jacket. It had been snowing and sleeting here in PA for several days and as soon as I opened the box and tried it on to ensure it fit properly, I zipped it up and went outside. This jacket is incredibly warm. The temperature here yesterday was a balmy 16 degrees, coupled with high winds and freezing rain. I took a walk around my neighborhood for about an hour and a half in complete comfort. The hood allowed me to prevent the freezing rain from going down my back and beaded right off the waterproof material. As I made my way up the hills in my neighborhood and I started to heat up, I opened the pit-zips to prevent myself from overheating. They effectively released heat but did not allow any cold air in. The pockets are lined with a very warm material which kept my hands warm when I took my gloves off, the only drawback to the pocket lining is that if you have dry, winter skin (which I do# it feels a bit scratchy. That is about my ONLY complaint so far. The secondary/liner jacket is also very warm by itself and very stylish too. I played ball with my dog in the backyard for about 15 minutes after my walk and the liner jacket kept me warm and allowed me to have great mobility to throw the ball. Although the liner jacket does not zip into the exterior shell jacket, it has these neat snaps that keep it secure and in place. I think it will be great in the early springtime too and the fact that it is reversable will be like having two new jackets to wear in spring. Overall, this jacket is very warm, the waterproof material is highly effective, there are enough pockets to store just about anything you would ever need during an outdoor/trail riding adventure #to be honest, I don't think I have discovered all the pockets...that's how many there are!) The styling is fantastic, I love the color, the fit is true to size, I guess in a tri-climate jacket from TNF I am now a size medium. I don't find the jacket to be too tight or too binding and the length is perfect for me, it breaks about 3in. below my waistline. Thank you Altrec for bringing me and my new TNF Mechanic jacket together. I look forward to lots of wintertime outdoor fun with it!!!

I am going to give this jacket to my brother in law, and this jacket is just... superb. It has great color with the quality I wanted, and I'm pretty sure that this color is very rare for men's clothing, and it really fit's my idea of a perfect gift. Some things I loved about this piece of clothing was that this jacket was a three-in-one. It had three individual pieces of clothing that perfectly matched each other and the clothings, one by one, were individualy great with its own personalities. After I bought this jacket, I was very surprised by how much the jacket fit to my idea of the jacket itself, and how much my brother-in-law will love the best gift he had over the years. I can't wait to see his smiling face. Also, I loved how much the jacket was comfortable. I wore it myself, just to test it out, and it was very warm and comfortable. I love it, and I'm very certain that my brother-in-law will love it too.

Love the ease at which the liner can be removed. Outer shell is very durable. Great fit. I was able to pick this up on sale so that makes the value a no brainer. Tons of pockets and details.

I thought this was going to be the ultimate coat for me. It had everything I wanted in style, features, and looks. I just got the coat today and I am very disappointed. The inner coat does not zip to the outer coat. You have to zip up both coats every time you put it on. If you get warm and unzip the coats, then they hang all over the place as there are 4 flaps. Maybe this is some new style and I've missed the boat on it. I guess I am going back to Columbia because I can't afford to keep buying and returning coats while trying to get the right one.
