Men's Mountain Guide Jacket 4.8 5 6 6
An Excellent Purchase! Quality production, excellent materials, highly recommend this jacket. It's true to size and fits well. If using two base-layer shirts and a heavy mid-layer jacket, like the DAS or Montbell Guide jacket you'll want to go a size up. This is a great product, amazing in harsh inclement conditions from fall to spring! January 3, 2012
Versatile Jacket The fit is what I anticipated - I bought the Medium size and I am 5'7" and 150 lbs. It fits well, but still leaves enough room for my down sweater or fleece. There are ample pockets that are easily accessible. The water bottle pocket is also a good place to keep ski goggles when not in use. The Gore-Tex waterproofing is excellent, and this shell will do double duty as foul weather gear on our boat during warm weather. February 9, 2011
Great Gore Tex Shell Jacket Jacket is very comfortable and completely waterproof. The only issue was with sizing. I found that compared to the rest of north face's jackets the mountain guide jacket ran a little large. Overall a great jacket. January 3, 2011
Looks great! Feels warm! Bought this jacket in black to match the North Face Mountain pant. Not sure if they were intended to be a matching set, but they go together perfectly (Performance Shell fabric and grey taped pocket seams look exactly the same). I also have the Redpoint down/Primaloft jacket, which works great as a liner for this shell. It's very warm shell with great wind and water resistance. Price was reasonable, especially relative to the less attractive (in my opinion) ProShell NF men's jackets. My only requests would be for a hidden avalanche reflector and phone/mp3 player pocket (that has a pass-thru for the headphone cord); my wife has a similar NF jacket with both of these features...but ironically she never skis backcountry so would never need the avalanche reflector...guess I'll be lost, buried under 40 feet of snow while she skis the bunny hill. The hood fits my large helmet, but just barely. If you have a very large head, it might be tough to accommodate a helmet under the hood. December 23, 2010
Fantastic I bought this jacket in North Face store, it is the best mountain jacket I have ever had. Gore-tex is cool, the pockets design is awesome too! August 30, 2010
Amazing I have had this jacket for 3 months now, i have never gotten wet or cold. I have used this on countless expeditions. When backpacking with it you could stuff it into a pocket and take up no room. The pockets are good sizes, and the skirt it useful for stopping the wind and losing heat. I also liked the hood if you turn your head you don't turn the hood and restrict the amount you can turn. One down side, I'm sorry, the zips when I first got the jacket one pocket zip kept on getting caught, but a bit of my mums sowing did it with out breaking the 2 layer Gore Tex. March 31, 2009
