Description

Sometimes in late Fall when the wind is ripping across the ridgeline and the pelting gropel is horizontally stinging the face, you put on The North Face Men's Potosi Jacket to challenge the extreme conditions just for the fun of it. Howling with glee at old Man Winter, you've thrown up the jackets attached, fully adjustable, helmet-compatible hood (if you were wearing one) and cinched its cords snug against the buffeting wind. Leaning into it like a base jumper in a winged flying suit, the jackets venting pit-zips are locked down, two-way front zipper shut tight, abrasive cuff tabs sealed, and hem cinch-cord short-lined. Nearly gaining lift-off, it's good that the winter jackets two zip alpine pockets, Napolean chest pocket, and internal chest pocket are all zipped closed, so that your lunch and essentials don’t have a mind other than your own. As the jet stream seemingly lowers, the Potosi's HyVent® Alpha laminated shell that is insulated with toasty 40 g. Primaloft™ One keeps your core roasting like lounging before a blazing wood box stove. Grinning from ear to ear, the TNF Men's Potosi Jacket lets you play with the fury of Mother Nature and get away with it.

HyVent Alpha is good!
March 16, 2012

I think of GORE-TEX jacket is a little hard to the touch. But HyVent Alpha is a good texture is soft and comfortable well. It is also cheaper than GORE-TEX price, features that provide an adequate mechanism. I think it is an ideal jacket for beginners.

Bought the North Face Potosi jacket. Fit nicely and the jacket was warm when worn in cold days. Comfortable as well so it was good value for the price.

Worth It
March 08, 2012

I have admired my wife's version of this jacket for awhile. She swore that it kept her warm & dry. It looks more like a light wind breaker but it's much more than that. On cold morning walks in the harbor it kept the cold out & the warmth in. Rain stays out too. The description of the jacket on your site is accurate.

It is very soft, light and nice color. Ture to size. This one is enough for the winter of FL.

Pros: soft, light
