Men's Prism Optimus Jacket 4.7 5 19 19
Awesome Jacket I work for an independent forestry company hired by the Government for survey and mapping of of areas for controlled lumber production and reforestation. I spend days out in the field either on horse back, ATV, or just hiking from base camp (motor home /office) I depend on technical clothing to protect me from 100 degree plus days all the way down to 10 below zero and 4-5 feet of snow. My daughter gave me this jacket Nov 30 and 2 days later I was assigned to do some work in New Mexico specifically Gila National Forest. The average temps in December are from +50 to +14 and that’s in the same day. I pack a fleece a hard shell and a insulating layer made of primaloft or down. I have used this jacket exclusively since I got here it is super warm, I was out in the field for 12 hrs on horse back during a 5 inch snow fall and was never cold or wet. I just wish it had vents... I can't wait for Chicago Blizzard... . December 22, 2011
Not the new model The black model does not match the picture shown when it arrives. The one you will get is all black and is not the latest model from North Face. It's a nice jacket, but you will pay full price for last year's all black model. December 17, 2011
Great Purchase I just love this jacket. It is even better than I expacted. It's very warm, light very good quality. It has two great stash pockets that really keeps your water bottle from freezing. It is very warm and it doesn't make you look or feel like a stuffed bear. I highly recommend this jacket November 28, 2011
So nice...my wife stole it I really liked the coat, but it fits a little small. I'm long wasted and when I raised my arms, the bottom of the coat went over my waste. So, my wife confiscated and it fits her GREAT. Great coat. Super warm and stylish....just didn't quite fit me right. February 2, 2011
- Solid, comfortable and very warm down jacket - Great hood - Very good protection against wind but limited protection against water - Relaxed fit (not very athletic) January 3, 2011
Great Jacket This product has great technology. Cold and wind cannot defeat this jacket. Nice and warm. December 21, 2009
Good choice for winter This jacket is very warm and I feel very comfortable for outdoor activity. The hat can be easily put into the collar. And the sleeve is long enough to cover my hand to prevent it bared in the outdoor. I highly recommend it. November 23, 2009
Great This jacket is big one size for me compared to what other people said. I'm 5'11" and 170, and I got a M, and it's great. November 9, 2009
Really warm I purchased this jacket after trying several different down coats from Patagonia and Mountain Hardwear. I am 6'2" and 185#. Unfortunately a lot of nice gear does not fit me well with regard to the arm and torso length. Fortunately this jacket fits me very well in a size large with plenty of room for a sweater. It is incredibly warm and light and looks better than some of the other jackets I've worn. I stay very warm even in freezing temperatures with only a thin base layer. Definitely worth the money! January 10, 2009
Very Warm... Finally got to use my new NF jacket. WOW! It's very warm. Has to be under 30 degrees; otherwise, you just sweat like a pig. Very light, and the hood is great at blocking the wind freezing your ears off. Highly recommend. December 3, 2008
Excellent option!! The combination of down and primaloft makes a very warm jacket and keeps it as small as possible. It has a lot of down in the front side and primaloft in the hood and inner part of the pocket to provide better insulation. I tried it out one week in Patagonia between -5C and 15C using a base layer and it was perfect!! November 21, 2008
Definitely buy this jacket It run's small so buy a size larger than normal. I'm 5'7" 140 and I wear an XL. This jacket is great: it's super warm and comfortable, and you can pack it down to a tiny sack. The hood can be tucked into the collar and the combination of down and primaloft is great. It's water resistant, durable and very light. I bought it for $200 but I think it's worth the $300 price tag. You should definitely buy this jacket if you see it. September 7, 2008
very nice jacket light weight, love it August 28, 2008
Amazingly Light Jacket fits well and appears very well made. Looking forward to trying it out in winter. August 16, 2008
best jacket My husband loves it because it is very light and warm. June 25, 2008
Lightweight & comfortable jacket Very pleased with the weight and warmth. I wanted a longer jacket that hit below the waist. It compresses nicely to fit in a backpack Also, another great feature is the draw string in the hood. It holds the hood in place so you can turn your head without obstructing the view. May 15, 2008
Amazing parka Very light and very warm. And very compressible. Almost laughed when I saw the stuff sack, but sure enough, an XL fit nicely. Note: the stuff sack is not waterproof, so keep dry. Size note: I usually wear a TNF Large, but had to get the XL on this coat. Bottom line: Great coat at a great price. April 28, 2008
WONDERFUL JACKET VERY LIGHT AND VERY COMFORTABLE. April 6, 2008
I love this jacket This is a very warm jacket with tremendous loft that packs down into a very small bundle. February 27, 2008
