With a new design and series change, The North Face Prophecy Jacket for men ups the ante as a straight forward all-conditions waterproof, breathable HyVent™ DT shell. This weather protector incorporates a fully adjustable, attached hood that is complimented with two venting alpine pockets to maximize the body's optimum operating climate. When the elements get adverse, adjustable Velcro® cuffs and a hem cinchcord can be snugged to close the gaps to help trap core heat.

I wear it mostly as a wind breaker but its probably the best waterproof shell i've ever had. It's a stylish jacket that has alot of function if you're in a rainy area. During mud season in vermont this jacket kept me dry.

D. Brumfield - 2004-09-23Outstanding Performance and Value for the $$
I purchased this jacket in June and took it on a three-day climb up Mt. Whitney's Mountaineer's Route. As is almost always the case on Whitney, the weather changes rapidly from sunny to raining or snowing. This lightweight, waterproof jacket came in so handy on our decent as we were hit by freezing rain. I was unfazed as I was able to pull out my Prophecy and stay dry. Well worth it!

I am 6'4", 160 lbs and ordered an XL. The cut is very short, so it's just barely long enough, the L would have definitely been too small. Also, the hood could be better - it's too big. However, this jacket looks awesome (orange looks great, very bright), repels water well, is very lightweight, and is a generally high-quality jacket - I use it for skiing and rain wear.
