Great Rain Jacket

The North Face Resolve jacket is a comfortable and good looking rain jacket. It will keep you dry even in heavy blowing side-ways rain. The only con I have is the large collar. I understand the collar needs to be large enough for the hood to be folded up and stowed in it but I find it to be too big. I wear it to commute to work in NYC and while biking if needed. I would recommend this coat.

Just bought this and took it on a long hike in western NC mountains. The weather was in the 20's and high wind. The jacket was great for the wind and it fits nicely. I also like the high collars on it, covers my neck and half the face from the wind. I would def. recommend it.

My college-age son carries this raincoat in his backpack. It rains tons where he's in school. This jacket squishes down small enough and is light enough for him to keep it with him, daily. It is totally waterproof and looks great. It runs a bit large.

This was a good spring rain jacket...just not what I wanted so I returned the jacket for the TNF Varius Guide Jacket Love TNF products and would consider this jacket if I needed a lighter weight spring rain jacket! Loved the stowable hood btw.

I bought this jacket for my college son who rides his bike in the rain to class. It is very lightweight which is what he wanted so he could layer under it. Also plans to use it for snowboarding in spring when a light jacket is best. It was shipped very quickly and much less expensive than all the other websites I searched. I love North Face. They make great quality products, especially our "his & hers" Venture rain jackets. Keep us dry and feels very light weight. I bought this jacket for my husband to be water proof and it has a nice well made texture. My husband loved it and fit well. He said that this jacket kept him warm and completely dry underneath even on December now. Of course, I will order another one for my father, brother and father-in-law for birthday gift soon. I will recommend this jacket, if someone needs something waterproof lightweight and durable that rolls up into its own pocket this Venture jacket is great.

Bought an XL because L was an exact fit with little room (5'7, 200). I wanted a bit larger, in case I wanted to wear a light sweater underneath on colder autumn mornings with rain in UT. Excellent for rain on warm days and cool evenings by itself. Great quality and warm fleece type collar that keeps the wind out. Easily stowable and compresses to a small size.

I absolutely love this jacket. Perfect utility jacket to protect you from the elements at an affordable price. I've lost it once and ripped it in the shoulder in a bike crash the second time. I've immediately bought a replacement on both occasions. Here's a list of the reasons I think this is a great buy: 1. Perfect balance of warmth and ventilation - I've found that the jacket is warm enough to protect you from the wind and rain but not so stuffy that you cannot wear it while being active. For instance, I find that you can wear it all day while on a Spring or Fall bike ride without getting too sticky. I have also used it as my outer layer while hiking on several occasions, even in the upper levels of the Machhapuchre Base Camp in Nepal. 2. Hood stows comfortably and attractively in collar - the way that it stows also provides enough body to keep the collar up at all times, keeping your neck warm without the need for a scarf or if you just happen to like that look. Contributing to the warmth and comfort is the fact that the collar is lined with a fleece like material that is soft to the skin and extremely comfortable. 3. Not just for the outdoors - Added bonus for me is that the jacket is extremely simple in its design (no reflective tape, flashy colors, etc.) and could easily be worn for a night out without having to worry about broadcasting your active lifestyle. Another plus of the collar that I have found is the fact that you can wad it up into a ball, stick it into your back jean pocket, and it will not touch the floor (I'm approx 6ft. tall for reference). This works great in bars or other venues where you want to take your jacket off but don't want to put it down or check it in. In summation, this is a great all around jacket for a variety of uses.

This product is exactly what I was looking for: a light-weight jacket that protects against the rain and wind, and provides a small degreee of warmth. I have a heavier jacket for Oregon winter conditions, but wanted a jacket for spring and fall use. Altrec was great to work with when I needed to exchange my initial jacket for a larger size. Great Jacket! The fit is great, it's very waterproof, and the design really keeps you dry. The only thing I didn't care for was the size of the hood. I wish it had a way to adjust the hood size.

I received the men's resolve jacket a couple of days ago and I love it so much, everyone tells me its very nice. It's very comfortable, lightweight, fits perfectly, and I could wear layers of jackets underneath. It also has a good amount of pockets (Which is exactly what I was looking for.) I love the design and it has good quality. After all, there's really not that much complaints. People say the hood is to big but I think its perfect. Its a good price for a good product. I highly recommend this jacket.

1. Service: Product arrived on time and in perfect condition. 2. Product: Jacket is excellent, light weight, protective and fits great. The length is perfect - it covers sweatshirts, etc., fully. I've received numerous unsolicited compliments on how good-looking the jacket is (if only I were to receive such compliments about myself). I haven't worn it in raging downpours yet, but I'm confident that it will function as advertised. I've worn it outside in 75 degree sunny days - and it breathed extremely well. I've worn it on very windy (30+ mph) cold and damp days, and it protected fully. All in all I highly recommend it.

I decided to write this review now that I have had it for awhile and put it through a few seasons. This is a great light rain jacket. The quality is what you would expect from North Face. Aside from the fact that it keeps me dry up to moderate rain storms, it is very breathable with the HyVent fabric. I have worn this on multiple travels and it truly is a versatile Spring/Fall jacket that is very easy to fold up. I would recommend this jacket to anyone looking for something that is versatile, light and waterproof.

I recently purchased this jacket and could not be more pleased. I walk to work everyday in the city and needed a new wind/rain jacket. I have had a great experience with The North Face gear in the past and knew a rain jacket from the brand would be high quality. I found the Resolve in my price range with stellar reviews. When the jacket arrived it was even better than it looked on the site. I got it in black and the grid hyvent material is very durable, will NOT rip easily if walking through brush or vegetation. I walked to work in the rain a few times and while the rest of my body got soaked I stayed dry wherever the jacket was covering. The jacket is also has great temperature regulation, keeps me warm on the beach during a windy night and cool enough on humid rainy days. Ultimately, the perfect jacket for going anywhere in the spring and summer.

My husband and I both wanted new rain jackets. I got a Patagonia one, and my husband tried the same Patagonia style. In that brand, he needed the XL, but then the sleeves and length of the jacket were very long (he's 5'9 or 5'10). He found this resolve jacket in a local store and loved it, but not in the color he wanted. The proportions were better because he could wear a size L and it fit his ample girth without being too long elsewhere. We came to Altrec to get exactly the color he wanted, the dark gray. He hasn't had a chance to wear it outside yet, so I can't comment on durability, but I expect it to be a life-long jacket like other North Face products. Also, we compared features of the venture and resolve, and for this particular jacket he preferred the lower priced (for a change) resolve. He wanted it simple, without velcro on sleeves. He also likes the mesh liner. Finally, I have to commend altrec for the fast delivery of this item. It arrived before father's day, in about four or five days from when I placed the order. It was expected four days later. Thanks!

I bought this rain jacket for my boyfriend for Christmas, and he looks the jacket! He even wears it when it's not raining! He wears the rain jacket over his fleece, and he says this provides both wind and rain protection. I highly recommend any male buying this jacket! However!! This jacket runs large, so order a size smaller than you usually wear, because the closer the jacket is to you body, the better insulation and rain protection it will provide! Overall great great purchase!

I really like this jacket. It is light weight yet provide superior water and wind resistance. The only thing I was not sold on was the net like substance or lining. I use jacket pockets to carry my keys and I am afraid that the keys will eventually burn a whole in the pockets. Other than that it is a wonderful jacket.

As expected, a solid product from North Face. It seems to fit a tiny bit snug in the mid section for its size, but is true to size otherwise (shoulders, sleeves, etc). The fleece collar is a bonus on a rain jacket, especially in the early spring and late fall rainy seasons.

This is the best jacket of its type aside from being durable as well as wind and waterproof. it is exactly the right length for protection from the elements. The other special feature is the hood which is easy to pull on with the jacket on and easy to replace in the collar when not in use. I have given four of these to other family members, and everyone is more than satisfied.

I own several items from the Northface. As expected, this jacket is also absolutely fantastic! I usually have trouble to find a jacket that fits. But this jacket fits perfectly. I got a medium size which leaves enough room to wear a thin sweatshirt or long sleeve shirt. It is perfect for a rainy or windy day. I highly recommend this jacket! I bought it from altrec.com. The first time my order did not go through due to a problem on my computer. Their customer service person was very nice and directed me to solve the problem quickly. The shipping was also fast.

We purchased these jackets for rain/wind protection. The jacket is terrific for those purposes. If the weather is turns cold, the jacket does not provide much protection from the cold and will need to be layered.

The only thing I'm not sure about is the fit since I bought a large but it's somewhat snug. I might need an XL but it still fits reasonably well. I wore it in pouring rain and it did the job. The hood is a bit on the big side but there's an adjustable strap you can use. This was my first North Face jacket and am thinking about purchasing a different one.

This jacket is great for water protection in heavy rainstorms however it provides no warmth so an extra layer underneath is needed. The jacket fits big which is good in order to cover anything I want to put under like my backpack. Overall very happy with my purchase.

I bought this jacket for my husband for a spring wear. He loves it. It fits nicely, not bulky at all. It is nice quality and color. It is also true to the size, somewhat on the slim side. I bought this jacket because I needed a new rain jacket for a wet Spring in South Dakota and in prep for a camping trip to the Black Hills. The jacket has worked very well for me so far. The evenings in the Hills were in the 40s and throwing this jacket over a fleece provided the right amount of protection from the dampness/wind. I've also used it on a couplemof bike rides since then and it has kept me quite dry even as I've gotten caught in a Spring shower. I'm 5'10" and 170lbs. The Large is a little big without a fleece underneath, but I like the length of the arms and the way that size drops just blow the waist. I actually prefer the Resolve to the Venture because of the ability to zip the collar all the way up without having the hood over my head.

But this is more than a windbreaker! This is a jacket that will keep you warm whether it is 60 degrees F out and blowing or 20 degrees, snowing and blowing. It is the perfect campus jacket, awesome for hiking and I couldn't have made a better choice. It fits me very well, as I have a longer torso, so finding a jacket that will go to my belt line is usually an issue. Would recommend this jacket for anyone who lives in a windy/rainy area because this can be worn from fall through spring.

This jacket is absolutely fantastic! I bought it for my boyfriend who is 5'7" and was nervous about it not fitting him because I got a medium and he has broad shoulders, but it fit him perfectly! Even left enough room to wear a thin sweatshirt or long sleeve underneath. Also he absolutely loves it! He wears it whenever he goes running and it is light enough that he won't get to warm and is also breathable enough to keep him cool. Also before I bought it I was reading reviews and there were a lot of reviews that had said the hood was way to big, but he doesn't seem to have a single problem with it. I highly recommend this jacket!

This is a great jacket for a rainy day. NO insulation though, so it's a no-go for anything under 32, and the hood is a little too big for anyone. Otherwise it's a comfortable jacket to get you through a long rainy treck. Good for a job commute....yes...good for hiking a 14er...not so much.

I haven't worn it in raging downpours yet, but I'm confident that it will function as advertised. I've worn it outside in 75 degree sunny days - and it breathed extremely well. I've worn it on very windy (30+ mph) cold and damp days, and it protected fully. All in all I highly recommend it.

Excellent water protection and provides adequate warmth on cool Spring mornings. Particularly fond of enclosable hood. Not recommended for temperatures below 40deg.

This jacket is absolutely fantastic! I bought it for my boyfriend who is 5'7" and was nervous about it not fitting him because I got a medium and he has broad shoulders, but it fit him perfectly! Even left enough room to wear a thin sweatshirt or long sleeve underneath. Also he absolutely loves it! He wears it whenever he goes running and it is light enough that he won't get to warm and is also breathable enough to keep him cool. Also before I bought it I was reading reviews and there were a lot of reviews that had said the hood was way to big, but he doesn't seem to have a single problem with it. I highly recommend this jacket!

I purchased this jacket to wear around town. It is well suited for that purpose. The fit is generous so that I can wear it over another layer. It is fairly new so I can not attest to how long it will last or handle a heavy rain storm, but I trust North Face to provide excellent products. It is a "waist" coat - it is not full length. If you sit on wet area, your pants will get wet unless you are wearing rain pants. Again, good for a round town jacket, not too good for hiking (but I did not buy the jacket for heavy field usage). My only design complaint is that they cuffs have elastic rather than a velcro strap to adjust how tight they are.

I own several items from the Northface. As expected, this jacket is also absolutely fantastic! I usually have trouble to find a jacket that fits. But this jacket fits perfectly. I got a medium size which leaves enough room to wear a thin sweatshirt or long sleeve shirt. It is perfect for a rainy or windy day. I highly recommend this jacket! I bought it from altrec.com. The first time my order did not go through due to a problem on my computer. Their customer service person was very nice and directed me to solve the problem quickly. The shipping was also fast.

Coat is awesome! Lightweight, wind & waterproof. Easy to layer underneath and hood hangs over enough to keep the Seattle rain from covering my glasses. Both my teens love their Resolve jackets, not to mention I got a screaming good deal on the purchase price. Will definitley purchase again!

Nice but Not for Me

The jacket seems pretty high quality but is not good for my purposes--- hiking or activities in the rain. The medium is a bit big (I'm 5'7, 150lbs) so I have to return. Also, there's no pit zip or real way to get more air in/out with this jacket. It seems like it'll be best used purely as a rain jacket with minimal movement/activity/sweat.

I bought this jacket for my boyfriend for a Christmas present. We are both students at a college so we have to walk out in the rain from building to building to go to classes. It gets the job done and he was very pleased with the jacket!

it is little bit bigger than i thought. Other than that it is really great shape and design. I love this jacket I have couple other jackets, but this one is best. It is really good wind breaker.

Pretty Sweet

This was a pretty jacket, though a bit "more" than what I wanted. Its a bit stiffer than I was hoping and not too compactable. I was using it for some pretty bad downpours and bike rides. Great for downpours-- feels like you are in a hardshell, and keeps the water and wind out. But, for bike rides it holds in that heat, and like mentioned before, its not very compactible so may not be best as a "just-in-case" jacket.
