Perfect liner for my old Atlas Tri-Climate or for use layering under my Plasma Thermal. I have even worn this fleece by itself on chilly days with no issues. Granted they were clear days with no precipitation. Dealing with water or snow, I'd put a shell over this fleece. It is surprisingly windproof and very light - hardly feels like I'm wearing anything given how warm this fleece is. Very comfortable. Price is a little high but worth it, you wont be wearing it out or ditching it anytime soon.

It's difficult to write an honest review before you have lived with a garment for a while. What seems to work today may prove disappointing, say after a washing or two. Who knows. I can say that I bought this fleece because I found standard fleece inadequate when a chilly wind was blowing. The TKA 200 Echo Full Zip seems to do the trick; blocking most of the wind but letting enough through to keep you from overheating. It seems that some version of this technology should become standard. I've worn fleece for over 25 years and this is the first time item that wears as comfortable as it looks without a nylon shell! now, if we could just get come some elbow patches to extend the life of the fleece garments . . .

Finally a North Face Fleece that is cut athletically! I was looking for a 200 wt fleece, which I consider a perfect all around weight, with some wind blocking and a more tailored fit. Something that I could wear over just a t-shirt and be comfortable for most of the seasons where I live, which doesn't get extremely hot or cold throughout the year. This jacket hit the mark spot on! I'm 6'1" 180 lbs and usually wear a 40 long in suits and the medium in this jacket fit perfect! Unlike other TNF fleece jackets like the Pumori or Denali, which I have, this fits much better IMO. Its cut is not as relaxed as the other 2 mentioned, but not entirely a slim fit either. My gripes with the others were that the arms and body were much too baggy to be really effective in the same size comparisons. Sizing down only made the fit worse as far as length in the body and arms. The TKA 200 Echo solves all these issues and fits more like an athletic cut, which I prefer. Body length and arm length are perfect and without all the bagginess I experienced in the Denali and Pumori. I've had the jacket for some time now and have worn it quite extensively since receiving it. The 200wt is warm enough for me in most situations, and the weave is dense enough to provide a little wind resistance far better than the other 2 fleece jackets I mentioned earlier. In fact it is surprisingly wind resistant and provides great protection short of high gale winds. I've been extremely happy with this jacket and ended up purchasing another in a different color. As with most fleece jackets it worked to bead water in a slight drizzle, but anything harsher would definitely require a shell.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great valueA warm jacket

I am completely satisfied with this jacket. It is warm, has good wind resistance and typical snug jacket fit. Nice deep pockets. The feel of the fabric is great. .

Great quality, warmer than old TKA 200

This North Face fleece is top notch. The zipper breast pocket is very handy. I bought this to replace an older TKA 200 Curtis fleece. This one is warmer than the old TKA 200 (which is more like the current TKA 100). That being said, this fleece is a great balance for moderate climates in the winter. I find (albeit subjective) the fleece keeps me comfortable in the 35-50 degree temperatures with light-moderate wind. When the wind is howling or the temp is lower, you may want a shell to keep the wind out or go with a heavier fleece.

Overall, we liked the jacket. I did not fit exactly like we wanted which was our issue, but we really did not like the red stitching along the zipper on the pockets.
Cons: did not like the red stitching in pocketJanuary 02, 2012
The jacket is lightweight but really warm. It's also very soft. Can be warn all year round. Makes a great layering piece or can be thrown on over a t-shirt.
