This jacket is true to size and repels even extreme precipitation! I'm 5'4" 145lbs with a fairly built upper body and the medium fits perfectly with room for a sweatshirt underneath when the weather calls for it. I bought this mainly for stormy New England Springs and Summers but broke it out for the first time on a relatively mild Winter day and it did NOT disappoint when the weather unexpectedly turned to rain/sleet. This jacket kept my sweatshirt dry as a feather and I never felt cold! I'm so impressed by the performance of this jacket that I'm buying the women's version for my wife as I write this review...highly recommended!

This jacket is not water resistant but water PROOF. I use it to bicycle in the rain, and I stay bone dry. Remember it is an extra layer, so dress a bit cooler to stay comfortable. It is a fantastic piece of gear.

Love this jacket! It is so light. I love that it is water and wind proof. I bought a Denali NF fleece and soon learned after wearing it on windy days, that it was not windproof. So I found this and it is perfect. I had sizing issues - if you want to wear this jacket over a T-shirt go with your normal size; however, if you want to layer - I strongly suggest you get the next size up.

This is an excellent rain jacket. lightweight, comfortable, and totally effective against the rain, even on the east side of the Big Island, HI, where the rains are present most of the winter. I bought this jacket to use as a summmer/fall rain jacket and I love it. It's thin enough not to heat you up when it's raining outside and versatile enough to throw a sweatshirt under if the weather cools off. Vented pockets and lightweight material make this jacket feel light and cool, and all the while you stay dry. I have the Indian Clay Red color, which I love. Enjoy!

Light weight and packable. Have only worn in light shower but the rain bounced off like pellets! If it didn't bounce off, it beaded up and I would shake it all off. It did not make me feel clammy like others but the true test will coming in late summer at outdoor sports practices in the hot humid SW MO rain.

nice thin rain jacket, rolls up easily for carry. we took ours into disney on rainy days. the hood is better than a typical hood for keeping rain out since it conforms around the face and has a small bill.

The perfect rain jacket. Great hood, lightweight, and comfortable. Not only is it functional for an array of bad weather, it looks great on. I like it so much, I almost want it to rain more.

Great jacket but note that that jacket is mostly polyester and the apex aerobic fabric is only on the panels (the gray areas); hence the name hybrid. With that said, the mobility is of the jacket is excellent. The panels are on the front, back and sides give an adequate amount of stretch. I am 5'9" 160 lbs and the jacket fits me well. It's not too loose, but not tight enough where i couldn't wear a fleece under it.

A very comfortable,good looking all weather wind and rain jacket. The hood fits well and keeps the head and neck dry. It would be nice if the hood rolled up into the collar. The garment is very light and easy to fold up and stow away in a small space.

I purchased this over a month ago and got the first chance to really test it out this weekend. It was rainy, windy and I had a lot of walking to do. It stood up to the test and kept me dry and surprisingly warmer than expected. This is not an insulated jacket but suits me just fine as I stay warm. Very nice construction, fitted hood and vented to let you breathe. Going to buy my wife one now as well.

I just purchased this jacket from Altrec. I picked the closeout Alder Brown color. I don't normally purchase anything brown, but the pricing was too good to pass up. I was surprised at how well the color won me over. It would look good on the trail and around town. I immediately got to tryout its ability to keep me dry and it excelled. Water beaded up like drops off a ducks back. Pit zips were helpful in regulating heat and you can hardly notice them visually when engaged. While I haven't used it for hiking or camping yet, this seems like a perfect stuffable jacket for those purposes. Some posters have said they don't like the white lining, but I kind of like the white inside lining. I'm guessing the reflective nature of the material, could help in a rescue situation? Velcro on the wrist offers a custom feel and the hood is expremely adjustable. This jacket layers well with light fleece for a super warm and wicking combination. I may use this jacket to ski in the near future and I'm looking forward to stuffing it with my camping / kayak gear this summer.

I use this shell in conjunction with a fleece vest & long-sleeved shirt, or as a proper waterproof shell when it's snowing or raining. The zipper is easily used when I have my gloves on; ditto for the velcro tabs. A fully functional shell!

Very light and performs well. The zipper is high enough to cover up to my nose when fully zipped and you can also adjust the hood for a better fit when it really pours. I definitely recommend this jacket for everyone who likes to be outside. You never know when a freak storm comes.

I work in a warehouse and when a northern hits the coast in Corpus Christi it gets cold going in and out of a building on a forklift. Only had to wear a lightweight fleece shirt and Tee shirt under the jacket. No wet clammy sweat either "breathes" and no bulk very easy to move in. The shape of the hood works great under a hardhat and keeps the rain out. Normally have to wear 2 or 3 layers of bulky clothes to keep semi warm. Have not tried to dance in it yet...LOL....

I like most everything about this jacket. Though I must agree with a former reviewer that it would be nicer if the lining color was not so starkly white.
What works for me is that 1) It is lightweight. Which makes it easy to carry and easy to pack. 2) It's 3/4 length. The coverage is just what I need. 3) Closures at sleeves and neck make it safe from rain and cold. 4) hood is adjustable 5) color I chose (rust) suits me 6) pockets are deep
