The nearest trailhead might be a day and a half away, but chilling rain and soggy drizzle pay no heed to time and distance. That's why the lightweight Venture Pant from The North Face is so ideal for hiking, backpacking and all forms of adventure travel--it's waterproof and breathable but it's also so lightweight and packable that you can stow it in a side pocket without any hassles or packing compromises. Unlike earlier incarnations of the Venture Pant by The North Face, this version uses a lighter variation of waterproof HyVent™ fabric, shaving a little over an ounce off the weight without cutting out the extra comfort and convenience of features like roomy zippered hand pockets and an elasticized drawcord waist. When the weather clears simply stuff the entire Venture Pant inside the zippered left pocket and you'll be ready for the next surprise squall.

So far, so good. I'm 6'0, 150, and the mediums fit very well. The fit on the Venture pants is slightly bigger than the Marmot Precip pants, which I also tried.
I bought these primarily for golf, for use on rainy days. I have played a number of times with these already, and, even with some very heavy and prolonged rains, these pants have kept me completely dry. They are lightweight, windproof, and are working just as advertised. I'm very pleased with my purchase!

great thing for outdoor activities: hiking, cycling or any kind of wintersports, you can use them for 4 seasons, these pants will protect you from wind, rain and even snow, but these pants are very thin so don't forget to wear warm liners under them for winter actvities.
BUY THEM, you wont find better product for this price!!!

Here in the Northeast,we have had a wet cold climbing season thus far. The men's North Face Venture pant and a light weight baselayer was all that was needed to ward off the cold rainy weather we have had at the Gunks. I could not have chose a better pant for the job. The only gripe I have is that the knees need a little more reinforcing. Climbing rock requires that your pants be durable. After twenty pitches the knees are starting to show some wear, but overall these pants are great. They rival any GoreTex pant for waterproofness I have in my arsenal. Thanks Altrec and thanks to The North Face for a fantastic product at the best price found anywhere.

I have now used these in a variety of settings both cold and warm and they have performed well. In rain the water was kept out very well.

A great alternative to fleece pants. They are wind and water proof and very light weight. I just retunred from a trip where the temprature hit 20 degrees and wore the pants over running tights. They kept me warm and dry.

Not a bad running pant but they lack an inner mesh liner. With that they would be great.
