The North Face Men's Venture Side Zip Pant
If you need compressible waterproof pants for hiking, trekking, cycling or roaming around faraway villages you can't go wrong with The North Face Venture Side Zip Pant. Unlike previous Venture incarnations that were water-resistant, this full-length side zip pant is fully waterproof and features an innovative tactile microdot inner surface that keeps the HyVent™ DT barrier off your skin, making it perfectly comfortable for wearing over shorts. This texture moves easily over other layers and the fabric enhances internal vapor transfer on a molecular level, resulting in full weather protection with uncommon breathability. When the wind subsides and the sun comes out, stuff the entire garment into the left pocket for compact storage.

Lightweight, great value,zips work great. Normally have to use bulky layers of clothing when a northern hits the gulf coast in Corpus Christi. I work in a warehouse and constantly going in and out a building. This time all i needed was my Venture Pants and a pair of jeans under them. I never got sweaty nor were hard to move in. At the end of the day the side zippers came very handy in taking them off.

These are some of the lightest rainpants I've ever owned. Easily packable in a day pack or even in a large pocket. They fold inside-out and zip up through the side pocket to make a compact package. I never thought it would be possible, but they actually pack to about 7" x 4" size (and about an inch thick)!

excellent value. comfortable pant that hasn't let me down from skiing on slushy days to heavy downpours. Full side zips allow you to get them off without removing your boots, also allow for some air flow when it's warm and raining.

Breathable, stays waterproof in pouring rain, big plus points for metal-tooth zippers that won't break off teeth like the plastic zippers used by the competition. Packs down small but a little tough to stuff into the side pocket (this could be a little bigger). Perform great in Florida where heavy rain and high humidity are big issues.

It's been a long time since I had a pair of rain pants that fit me this well. No riding up and very comfortable. I only wish they were a little quieter when hiking. When you're in the middle of nowhere, it would be nice not to hear the crackle and whooshing, but then again, they are new so once I have worn them a few more times, maybe they will quiet down.

I climbed Mt. Sajama in Bolivia using these pants and they worked great. They blocked all the wind the mountain could throw at me and kept my legs nice and warm. I'm going to buy another pair right now.
