Description

Your quiver of skis might include powder skis, hardpack carving skis, all-mountain mid-wide skis and backcountry twin-tips, but thankfully you only need one jacket for every day of ski season: The North Face Men's Vortex Triclimate Jacket. It's a durable, waterproof and breathable shell jacket with a zip-out insulating liner that you can wear alone on the bluebird powder days. Between all three configurations, you have enough weather protection options to ski, trek or snowboard right into the sun drenched jeans-and-tee days of late spring and summer. The North Face Men's Vortex Triclimate Jacket is loaded with many of the same features found on expensive ski jackets and alpine outerwear, but the price remains affordable and the exterior styling is classic and traditional--not spendy-trendy. Internal features include a goggle pocket, media security pocket (for phone, two-way radio or music player) and an adjustable hem with Pant-a-locks to connect your ski pants to your jacket for optimal spindrift protection. On the outside you'll find core zip-vents for cooling, a wrist accessory pocket with goggle cloth, and a removable hood. If you wear the insulating liner as a jacket, you'll find that it has fewer pockets and features than the outer jacket shell, although the enhanced articulation through the elbows will appeal to any skier who pounds moguls or spends most of their time doing tricks on twin-tips in the terrain park.

Men's Vortex Triclimate Jacket 4.9 5 28 28
The perfect choice. I purchased the Vortex Triclimate Jacket. The weather currently is unseasonably warm in Wisconsin. The Triclimate design is perfect for this condition as wearing only the inner liner is a perfect solution for this weather condition. Knowing the weather will get much colder and snowy, being able to zip in the inner liner into the outer shell should work well. I expect the waterproofing feature to work well with the North Face reputation. The core zip vents was another reason for the purchase to regulate body heat when active. There are many well positioned pockets both inside and out was also a reason for this selection. I chose North Face because of the reputation of quality. January 1, 2012
Great triclimate jacket My ski trip isn't until next week but I've already started wearing the inside jacket outside in Texas since it's not too cold nor too hot outside (high 30s low 40s). It's very comfortable to wear and I can directly tell that it's very durable. An abundant amount of pockets both interior and exterior. Only thing is, my arms are a little shorter than normal so a medium fits my waist, shoulders, and upper body but my arms are a little too short for the medium. I'm okay though since running a little big on the jacket won't be bad for the ski trip. I'd rather have that than be uncomfortable in a smaller jacket. December 26, 2011
Excellent Quality Jacket This is an excellent jacket with many details. It is durable but not bulky. My only problem is that it does seem to run a bit big. I have other north face jackets and the large was just too big on me. I am unsure if a medium might fit so I might just stick with the large. Overall I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend. December 25, 2011
Great jacket The Service is great, the employees are very willing to help out. Jacket is very nice, I got one for my boyfriend for Christmas and he LOVES it! North Face is a great brand for tall guys- he's 6'3'' and thin and a large fits great- even the sleeves are long enough! The fleece is great by itself or the shell is nice as a rain jacket but he's wearing both layers together now that it's so cold. Great buy!! December 10, 2011
Great Jacket The jacket is perfect and definitely for cold weather. It's not fluffy as most of the jackets I've had. The jacket keeps you warm but not sweating. I love it so much and I am going to buy another for my dad. November 13, 2011
Best Buy This is the best jacket you could purchase if you really like outdoors especially hiking trips. When it is raining, you could count on this jacket is going to protect you from extreme weathers. May 20, 2011
condor vs. vortex Condor triclimate is perfect but vortex is a bit warmer enough for a 20°blizzard storm here in NY. My son love it! Its really pricey but it will last him a good 5 yrs at least.instead of buying him every single year. February 1, 2011
North Face does it again! I love this Jacket or should I say jacket(S) seems very well built and comfy can't wait to try it on the slopes tonight. It has lots of pockets and even comes with a sunglass shammy in the pocket on the arm. For being two jackets in one it's less bulky then any others I have tried Hellihanson, columbia etc. The zip out jacket looks perfect for the Sunny spring days of riding/skiing. Only thing I didn't like is NOrth Face says it's waterproof but has no rating? 12,000mm 20,000mm ? I haven't trying with a fullday in wetcoast snow but for a few mins in the rain it beaded well. Nice jacket I purchased this jacket for my husband for Christmas, and he absolutely LOVES it. It has a removable liner (which is actually not that attractive if worn alone - in red) and it's very light weight. The shell is a great color (red) and he loves the fact that it is warm enough for skiing in the cold. He is usually a large, but they seem to run larger than an average large. If he were to have gotten a medium, it would have been too short. January 14, 2011
Nice winter jacket i like the look and quality, it feel good i wish that i could zip other fleeces into it the other two fleeces i got the zipper isn't large enough January 6, 2011
Sweet I was interested in this Ski Jacket for the shell. The liner that comes with it is very good. But I wanted to make the shell warmer for my needs. Thats done by using TNF Nuptse Down Jacket that can zip right in. I also have TNF Nuptse Vest that I can use also. I like to use the arm anchor points but zip the liner and shell independently. The TNF Vortex is a versitile item to have on its own, If one owns other TNF items that can zip in the jacket, It is even better, Also the look and fit are perfect. January 3, 2011
Its really thin Just got it not sure if its extremely warm but it looks perfect for now December 29, 2010
Great ski jacket Comfortable and warm ski jacket. It also is a good looking ski jacket. The contruction seems to be top notch. December 26, 2010
worth it The jacket is heavy and extremely warm, but is not puffy. I wore it sitting in the stands of an NFL game and was warm and comfortable the entire time. It fit true to size and the gray is great because people you are with cannot tell if its dirty or not. Have not yet tested it in heavy rain but it lighter rain i remained perfectly dry. November 4, 2010
Great Coat!!!! This coat looks great and is warm. Our weather is always dropping below zero degrees and I have yet to be cold while wearing this coat. February 2, 2010
Sweet Purchase This jacket is awesome, but I must admit the red color is really red once you get to see it in person. It certainly is reminiscent of the Ski Patrol but I love it regardless. We had a recent blizzard and it definitely performs above and beyond what I expected. I've never had such a warm jacket and in just regular chilly weather you really only need the inner liner or the shell. In super cold temperatures the whole shebang would definitely keep you toasty. December 27, 2009
Excellent Jacket with good warmth I have enjoyed wearing this jacket out the last couple days to shovel snow. It keeps me warm and my wife thinks it looks great. December 26, 2009
Well designed jacket I really like this jacket. It is a streamlined, thin jacket that is great for skiing or any outdoor activity. I really like the pockets and the way the drawstrings work. December 26, 2009
Nort Face Vortex Triclimate I'd first like to thank the fast easy ordering process as well as the polite customer service person who helped me. Next the vortex is an excellent pick for those who live in a cold windy climate as I do. I knew about the quality of North Face and I was explained over the phone how this jacket would suit my needs and they were spot on. Its all I need for the harsh environment I live in. Thanks December 21, 2009
A great all around jacket I live in NYC and the elements can be quite brutal. This jacket is great at keeping me dry and warm. Best investment I have made in my life. November 19, 2009
nice one i got vortex jacket from altrec..its really nice jacket..the inner one is insulated so no need of wearing even outer one in regular chilly weather..very good purchase..and delivery is also fast by altrec November 13, 2009
Excellent rain and snowboarding jacket I've used it many times for both rainy SF days, and recently for snowboarding. It was excellent in both situations, and I always stayed warm and dry. The inner synthetic down jacket can be worn on it's own most days, and is very stylish, windproof, and water resistant. February 24, 2009
Worth the price Bought this jacket for a ski trip to NH. I had a good base layer. It was -3 on the top and I was warm and toasty. Plenty of pockets and the hood is great for the long rides on the ski lift to get out of the wind. February 25, 2008
A good long term investment! After a couple of weeks skiing this is THE jacket - Chamonix, France = wind and rain, very wet - the jacket bore all resistance to extreme conditions. Verbier, Switzerland = bright crisp sun, spring conditions - too hot with both layers, but outer on its own was fantastic. Great versatile jacket in extremes of conditions - highly recommended! Materials and construction quality very good also. April 10, 2007
GOOD COAT! This has proven to be a good winter coat here in Kansas. It's very warm on days when the temperature is below 40 degrees. When the temperature is above 40 degrees I usually switch to my North Face Denali fleece. The lining is very soft and comfortable and it zips out easily. On warmer days I unzip the lining and just wear the shell around. I've owned this jacket for 2 months now and I've been very pleased with it. January 26, 2007
Jacket given to son as a Christmas gift Jacket was a gift that was greatly appreciated! It got hard use on the Utah slopes its first week and performed beautifully. the fabric is super and the quality excellent. January 4, 2007
Liked the jacket alot I liked the two in one jacket and the two toned color December 28, 2006
Great for multiple weather conditions Different combinations for different weather situtations. Worth every penny because you get three different variations that can fit lite to extreme conditions March 18, 2006
