Quality, warmth, fit were all great. The fit was true to size. The fabric is soft and warm yet not bulky. My only complaint was the color. I ordered black but it seemed more of a charcoal grey to me. Despite color it is a definite keeper!

I purchased this jacket for my son. It is lightweight, not bulky,yet warm enough to get us through some cold weather. The quality is great and I would consider buying it again.

This jacket was a great fit and the quality along with it was also great. I was so excited when it first came in and decided to put it to the test. The wind protection on this jacket is great. The jacket keeps you fairly warm, but it would probably be best to layer in colder weather.

Bought this jacket for my boyfriend, and he loves it! He bought me the Denali jacket for my birthday a few months back, and ever since then he's been hinting that he wanted a North Face. He couldn't be happier with this style! We live in Arkansas, so it'll probably never be used in super cold weather but it does good against wind and cooler weather!

Really great jacket for the money. Have a 13 yr old son who needed something warm that would fit in his locker. He stays warm in NW Indiana at the bus stop, and can fit the coat easily in his locker and backpack.

Great Jacket! Fleece is very tight unlike cheaper fleece jackets which makes this one windproof. Very comfortable fit. Nice for cold windy weather. Also works great as a mid layer.

I have owned a few khumbu's, and always liked them. This fits a tiny bit closer, and is a lot thinner. Saying that, I like the fit very much, and I think it is just as warm being lighter. I really like this jacket a lot.

I bought this jacket for my husband last fall, and he LOVES it! Wears it to break the wind, and it does so quite well. Also wears it indoors, like a sweatshirt, and it has a great look. The fabric has a very soft finish that washes well, w/o pilling like the fleece we've become accustomed to. He loves it so much, I ordered myself one for an upcoming summer trip to Alaska. Just got it today and it fits great. Can't wait to wear it!!!

Bought this for my son-in-law and he loves it. He lives in Montana and has worn it indoors and out through this winter without overheating. He even uses it running and it provides amazing wind protection. His favorite jacket by far which he wears every day (unless he is forced into washing it!). Would highly recommend to anyone!

In about 55 degrees and 15mph winds, the jacket didn't keep me as warm as I would like and I could still feel the wind through it. Perhaps an XS size would have fit more snugly and perform better.

I've had this jacket for several months now. It is versatile: a comfortable breathable fleece that also blocks wind and can be worn hiking (depending on conditions) and downtown as well. I am 5'7" 150 lbs 40 chest 32 sleeve 32 waist, athletic build, and this jacket fits perfectly in size Small--sleeves slightly long but otherwise trim but not tight fit. I liked this so much I got one for my wife. She really likes hers also.

this jacket is great at blocking the wind, and it's fairly warm because of the fleece material. However, the material is kind of stiff and awkward, it's basically super super thick fleece, therefore it blocks the wind and is still fairly warm! I ordered it for my dad for christmas as I have the women's version that I like. He likes it as well.

THIS IS MY FIRST NORTH FACE JACKET I HAVE PURCHASED AND I MUST SAY ITS EVERYTHING EVERYONE SAID IT WOULD BE. THE FIT IS PERFECT AND THE QUALITY IS FANTASTIC. THE JACKET IS LIGHTWEIGHT BUT YET VERY WARM SO A LARGE BULKY JACKET IS NOT NEEDED. I HAVE PURCHASED TWO MORE NORTH FACE JACKETS SINCE AND CAN'T WAIT TO GET THEM.

The Windwall I has a clean, minimalist cut. It's warm, blocks some wind, and fits nicely. Between my son and me we've purchased 5 Windwall I's - four after the Windwall II came out. We hope Northface keeps bringing it back.

I'm notorious for wearing this. I have plenty of jackets, some more technologically advanced, others that are "nicer" (defined per price), but this is the jacket I always seem to grab on the way out. It's perfect, you can dress it up, or down. Does a decent job of keeping the wind out. Not perfect, but stick a layer under and you're golden. I've never worn a jacket this much. I'm ordering a replacement when fall comes a bit closer.

I bought this jacket for my husband because I thought it was so handsome. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this jacket is also exceptionally functional. My husband says that it blocks even the strongest winds, and it keeps him toasty warm during our chilly mornings and evenings in northwest Wyoming. This jacket is great for outdoor sports/activities, but it looks wonderful with pants/jeans and a long-sleeved dress shirt, for an evening on the town, as well. I also confess that I "borrow" this jacket whenever my husband isn't looking! I would recommend this awesome jacket to anyone.

What a great basic jacket! With four men in my family this is a jacket that they all enjoy. My youngest son is wearing one of these jackets his older brothers have outgrown and it still looks great. In a time when most things don't last (especially when active boys have worn them) it's nice to find a product that can go the distance.

I live in New Orleans, so our winter temps get down into the 50's and sometimes 40's. Find that this fleece is great in these temps. Usually, wear over a dress shirt and have room for a light sweater if it gets colder. Love the quality of the jacket as well as the weight of the fleece. My only gripe, and it's minor, is that the sleeves are kinda long on my 32" arms. Wish the cuffs had a velcro sinchers like my Apex Bionic has. Moreover, a quality, good looking and very functional jacket.

I have used this jacket at 40ºF and I didn't feel cold at all, very warm, In general I use a base layer and a shirt and at that temperature I feel very well. Regarding the "Windwall" property it does its job perfectly well, it is really similar to the windstopper fabric, I have a windstopper jacket and it seems to be the same, which is good, but warmer than my windstopper jacket, well, obviously if you want something lightweight I recommend a windstopper jacket but that's colder (not so cold but colder than this jacket) In general if you want to wear clothes not so technical, for the city in cold days I highly recommend this jacket. Now if you want something more technical, for the mountain, lightweight and you are planning to use a third layer like a gore-tex jacket I recommend windstopper because you can take off your 3rd layer and only use a lightweight jacket and you will save a lot of weight. In general this jacket is really beautiful and I don't like the idea of using this for expeditions, in that case I prefer other kind of jacket, that is only my opinion, it is up to you to decide.

This is the second Windwall I have purchased. The first was for my wife. She loved it. Good for Florida chills, and hopping around the globe, which we do. Durable, light weight, warm, good quality for every dollar you spend. It feels good, looks great, and last the miles. A short note on my background: I spent 21 years in the Marine Corps as an Infantryman, and have been around the world several times to include the Arctic and Antarctic circles. I know good and bad gear. This one is a keeper.

Although this fleece has virtually no bulk- it is extremely warm due to it's windblocking capabilities. People don't realise that it's mostly the wind that gets you- not with this fleece though!! Excellent product from an excellent company. I would highly recommend it.

better than a micro fleece

The jacket runs a bit large. I usually wear mediums but a small was the correct size, albeit a bit snug. The exterior is a hardened fleece not a sheer wind-proof layer. Provides much better wind protection than an average micro fleece but is a bit bulkier.

North Face products have always been my go-to for any sort of outdoor clothing. Not because it's name recognition, but because I've always found their clothes - 1. Fit exactly right 2. Do exactly what they're supposed to I'm 5'11 170, but most of my weight is in my legs so I tend to go with North Face small (and as usual, this jacket was an excellent fit#. Iowa tends to get a bt frosty this time of year, so but I can usually just throw an undershirt on, a long sleeve over it, then toss this jacket on and I'm good to go. Oh, and the neck part is very soft and comfortable, unlike a lot of jackets i've tried #where they seem to cut it pretty frequently). The blue looks great with pretty much all my clothing. Big recommendation on tihs buy!

i bought this jacket for my husband who has never been a fan of fleece. since the jacket was free of patterns or contrasting details, and provided wind resistance, i thought i'd try it. he LOVES it! it's his new go-to jacket for quick trips out/errands. says it keeps the wind out and the heat in. the color was perfect and exactly as it appeared on the monitor. my husband is not a big man, so the medium was a true fit for him. great purchase!

Had bought this for the fall/winter time living in the eastern u.s. It doesnt snow much but I needed something for the chilly mornings. Can wear as a jacket or over a hoodie for a more stylish look. Overall it is great quality and material is durable. I always depend on north face for that. Also the fit is also very true to size and wear is comfortable. great purchase so far!

I opted to return this item because it ran rather large in the shoulders. I was going to just get a smaller size because there is nothing wrong with the product, but then decided to get the Mountain Hardware version instead because that one was so well reviewed and seems to be designed to provide better wind protection. This would be great jacket for layering, I think. The blue color is a little dull in person, but the heather grey was very nice in both the photo and in the store.

I bought this jacket for a friend and he absolutely loves it! We live in Seattle where temperatures are generally moderate and it will be great for fall, most of winter, and spring. He claims it is great against the wind (something many other fleece jackets can't claim) and says it keeps him at just the right temp. He normally is a size medium (5'8" and trim) and the medium in this fits perfectly. Will also be great with a shell over it on rainy days. Highly recommend!

I bought this for my 13 year old son who rides his bike or walks to school. We live in Houston and this morning it was 35 degrees. That's cold to us! My son says this keeps the wind out and keeps him warm. It's also thin enough that it will fit in his small locker.

I recently purchased the North Face Windwall 1 Jacket and it's a great Fall jacket or possibly mid-layer for winter weather. This is my 2nd Windwall Jacket and I highly recommend this particular line from The North Face. Now with that said they do obviously have a number of other higher priced jackets, however, I believe their Windwall line provides a nice balance with regards to quality/value.

I bought this jacket for my fiance two years ago and it still looks great! And trust me, he wears it all the time. We live in New Orleans so it's not terribly cold here but when it gets cold and the wind is kicking, it definitely does the job. He said it's very comfortable and wanted another one so that was an easy Christmas idea. The fit is very true to size (6 foot, 170)....he's tall and slim and the large fits perfect. I bought the new taupe color and it's very pretty...but still perfect for a male. Not too heavy but not too thin and the zip pockets were a plus. Highly recommend this jacket.

I use this jacket when hiking the Bay Area in the early mornings and evenings is search of photography opportunities. It has nice semi-form fit; I wear a small and I'm 5-8 at 140 lb. Provides enough room for layering without extra bulk. The wind block fabric is warm and keeps the wind out. I especially like the elastic cuffs which are missing from many other jackets. The two hip pockets have plenty of room and the zippers are of better quality.

Great car coat

My husband visits his employees on the job site frequently. He is in and out of the truck all day. This jacket was perfect for the constant temperature changes. He doesn't want to sweat while driving and then freeze when he exits the vehicle. This jacket works well with this. I chose the dark blue to hide stains from the chemicals he mixes in his lab. He likes the comfort,ease and fit of this jacket.
