Designed for carrying climbing and mountaineering loads, The North Face Spire 45 is a well-equipped alpine pack that comfortably adapts to hiking and skiing without forcing you into making compromises. The Spire 45 design is loosely based on The North Face MG pack series, but the Spire combines the all-season features with a new Mountain Guide Flex (MGF) suspension and triple-density padding along the backpanel for better load control. Unloaded the design is clean and streamlined, but the Spire 45 has adjustable side ski slots that adapt to a wide range of ski widths, allowing you to mix it up one day with your teles and go with your short shaped downhill skis the next. Other external features include a pocket for your pick, a three-point haul system configuration and daisy chains and gear loops for other essential items.
Very well done
Congragulations to The North Face again for a well built and designed product. I think this pack is ideal for overnights on a mountain, which is how I've used this pack mostly. It has very minimal features like wand pockets and ice axe straps but they're the only ones you really need. But the best thing about this pack (which makes it better than others for overnight mountain trips) is its stability. Never used a pack more stable than this, and that inclues Gregory's wraptor system.
awesome pack, great price
This pack is a great deal! I was impressed with all the room and extra pockets. Unlike some packs, this one rests comfortably on the back when completely loaded and the support straps on the side aren't too high or low, but rest nicely a little below the waist.
Great Pack
This is my first pack and I love it, very adjustable and hold a lot more than i thought. The only thing i don't like is the top opening is smaller than i like. Otherwise is a great pack for 3 to 4 days trip.

Great Bag!!
I've had nothing but
a great experience
with this bag. It's
spacious, nice-
looking, and
dependable. I
definately recommed
this bag for four-day
back-packing
adventures.
Superb pack for this size and price
I can't say enough how great this pack is at staying out of your way. Another good point is your choice of hydration systems, pockets for Nalgene bottles and a space for 2L or 3L Nalgene reservoir. Awesome for highly technical terrain.
Great 4 Day Pack!!
This is a great 4 day pack! I have already used it 3 times this year and was impressed. I used it for repelling trips and was adquate even though everything had to be accessed from the top. The two side pockets are nice for water containers and powerbars. The pack held up nicely when strapped down with food, rope, carabiners (which snapped on very nicely on the two wire loops around the waist area), tent, sleeping bag, and pad.

The North Face has reengineered its pack line around a universal measurement chart. These measurements, linked closely to the sizing of The North Face apparel, allow for easy fitting and sizing of packs. Detailed instructions on how to fit our packs are included with each pack.
To size a pack, match your measurements with the sizes listed above. Torso length is measured from the 7th vertebra (C7) to the lumbar vertebra (L5). C7 is the prominent vertebra at the base of the neck and is most apparent when the head is forward and looking down. L5 is the first vertebra above the pelvic bone. It usually coincides with the bottom edge of a waistband or belt. Waist circumference is measured as for pants and chest circumference can be measured as for clothing, just below the underarm.
Offered in colors: Aviator Blue/ Asphalt Grey. Available sizes, while supplies last, include size medium and size large: m, l.
