great kid's pack

Likes: large camelback reservoir storage; very sturdy yet light feel; torso adjustment is very flexible (can also fit shorter adult with ease). Great price! Missing or could be improved: Does not have straps to carry sleeping pad outside of pack; Liked sleeping bag separator inside pack, but if the straps could be adjustable to fit larger sleeping bags, it would be even better.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueAlready own the The North Face Terra Youth 55 Backpacking Backpack? Tell us your thoughts.

Good product. Bottom entry for sleeping bag, side entry for additional access. Well thought through. Opti-fit is easy to use and fits my son well. He's currently at 16inch torso - way to go to 18 inch. An additional ask would be a way to lock the top entry. Side and bottom can be locked with a padlock but not the top - would be useful when travelling and checking in the luggage
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: can't lockAlready own the The North Face Terra Youth 55 Backpacking Backpack? Tell us your thoughts.

This is a great backpack, but what more would you expect from The North Face. It is well constructed and very durable. It easily adjusts between my 6 and 11 year old, depending on who is hiking with me.

This Backpack is a "great value backpack." The backpack has a great fit for slim males, as myself. It has a large carrying capacity and more straps/loops to secure extra gear. The backpack isn't heavy, but it isn't light either. However, the backpack's fabric doesn't look like it will give any time soon!! Another thing that I like about this backpack is that is has 3 pockets - very simple. It carries 25-30 pounds very comfortably and is great for my 4 - 10 day trips!! and for me (being only 120 pounds) that is awesome!! Hip belt and shoulder straps are very comfortable and adjustable in many different ways. The hip belt seems to be my favorite part of this backpack. I don't know how to explain it, but it is so comfortable. However, the Opti-fit system that allows for adjustable torso length, to me, is a bit inaccurate. I have a torso length of about 16.5" and I have to use to 18" setting for it to be comfortable. If you are taller than 5' 10" I would advise AGAINST buying this pack as I am 5' 9" and have to set the pack's torso length to its maximum. I wish it came with a pack cover to protect from rain (I just use a trash bag instead) and, perhaps, a description of all the features of the backpack. One feature that I found that I really like, that is a complete minor detail, is that there is an integrated whistle on the chest strap =). I wish the hip belt had pockets, but I'm willing to stop for 5 seconds and pull out a power bar (haha). Overall, this pack is great!! I've taken it on several long trips and really enjoyed how solid it is. love the color too =D.

Bought this backpack for my son for Boy Scouts. He's 12 and has a 16 inch torso now, so I bought this pack for it's adjustability. Perfect size for the 1 nighters he'll be doing this spring. I got it on clearance so it's a great bargain.
