Topaz 3 in NC
March 03, 2012
I haven't had this tent long but at first glance it is an idiot proof color coded mansion in a bag. As soon as I received it on my doorstep I proceeded to set it up with no problems or questions whatso ever. There are 4 poles (2 of each kind) and the poles color coordinate with their counterpart hooks on the tent itself. first set up took 4 min at a leisure pace. The rainfly is also simple. just remember that dark green is your doors so lining it up on the body is easy. It is a little large for bar minimum backpacking but I would be willing to lug it around. The inside is spacious with pockets at every corner and multiple hooks up top for watches/lights etc. It will fit in a 45L and up dry pack for those off you wanting it for paddle trips. I am going to order a footprint for it just to be safe but besides that it a good purchase in my opinion.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, cavernous inside, Cons: slightly large for backpackingWrite a review for the The North Face Topaz 3 Tent here.
