Not my favourite!
July 20, 2012
I PERSONALLY did not like this bag. Reasons: 1) Did not like the fabric (it is stiffer than the Overland Equipment Nylon bags' fabric I am used to; thus, it feels on the cheap side to me... I am just expressing MY opinion, anyone else is welcome to disagree :#) 2) Did not like the proportions of the bag. I once again realized that I prefer bags that are less in height but more in length. The reason behind it being that it is much easier for me to locate items in my bag when it is shallower but still is long enough to hold more than a minimum)) With the kind of bag like the Alluvion, I feel like looking into the black hole. Narrow opening and then darkness) I would need to actually put my hand in and try to locate an item - NOT fun when one needs to be quick. Especially, not fun, when there are quite a few items there I would guess, they would be stuck on onto another like a tower... 3) Due to the same big height vs. low length ratio, the pockets are not easy to access either. Overall, however, the bag seems solid, the zippers work great #which is usual with the NF#, adjusting the bag's strap is a breeze... So, as a bottom line, if you don't mind the above mentioned facts, or you are sure that this is the type of bag you like, go ahead - it seems to be a quality bag... BTW, the bag seems to be reasonably sized for my body: I am 5 feet 5 inches tall, and about 120 lb.Pros: Build quality, Cons: not my favourite design
