I purchased this jacket as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She is a senior in HS. (we all know how difficult that can be!!ha) Well, when she opened it, she was so excited. It is worth every penny. She said it is the warmest coat she has ever had. She has Columbia, Carhartt, etc... I purchased it in black and it is just gorgeous. Priceless!!!!!!!.

North face never disappoints and this coat is no accept ion. My wife just loves it. It is warm and very stylish. She owns several nf coats and she loves them all.

Fits my wife great... We love north face, it's always so warm. We have more than 10 jackets/coats n love each n every one of them. I would never buy another brand fir jackets, hoodies, coats. North face always looks great!!!

Great Purchase
Really like the look of this jacket. The small Fit great everywhere but was on the shorter side. I am 5'3.5 108 lbs so I went to a medium and I am good with the length and it didnt add too much room so that its bulky.

Women's Gotham Jacket
Most comfortable coat I've ever owned. Not heavy or bulky but yet warm no matter what the weather. Style is timeless. I love it! Would highly recommend for anyone from those that are outdoors for long periods of time to those that are getting in and out of the car or those that go outdoors occassionally. Quality is impeccable!

Great jacket
My 14 year old daughter begged for one. It came very quickly and was exactly what she had hoped for. She runs between a large and extra large - the large fit her well. She says it is very warm and comfy.

Nothing compares to North Face clothing...
This jacket is the best jacket I've ever owned...it will last forever! I will recommend this jacket to everyone. I really like the color as well..different from the norm.

Solid coat... and cute... but runs very small
We bought this coat for our daughter (a medium) and it is ridiculously small. My daughter is 5'7" and ~115lbs and a size 0.
The arm length is fine but the torso is ridiculously small (short and shallow). I realize that is part of the design but they have just poorly designed the proportions on this coat.
We returned the coat and purchased another TNF coat (a small) and it had the same arm length and there was more room in the torso (as a small!!!). Even other brands (Marmot, Patagonia, etc.) offered much more room at the same or smaller size.
So this is a decent coat (warm) and is very cute but it is very poorly sized.

So worth it
I bought this jacket for my daughter. She wanted a Northface because all her friends had one. I wanted to get a color, other than black, that would stand out from the rest. The gold color is absolutely beautiful. We live in New England and she says she has to unzip it sometimes because it's so hot. Perfect for our weather. We love it!!

So Warm!
This jacket is cute and warm. I get compliments every time I wear it. I am 5'4" and 137 lbs. and the small fits perfectly. I can wear nothing but a T shirt under it on super cold days and be perfectly toasty! Great Jacket!

great North Face quality coat
The Gotham coat is a very nice North Face product, however, I only gave it 4 stars because it did not fit my needs as a ski coat. It appears very warm and is comfortable to wear, however, it is too puffy and short for the slopes. Also, it seems that the hood is a bit bulky when you zip up the front all the way and would be bothersome with a helmet on. I ordered the small and it fit well, I am 5'5 and 132 lbs. I would recommend this coat as a warm outer layer in the winter months, however, if you are specifically looking for a ski coat there are better options available by North Face. In all fairness, I don't think it was marketed by North Face as a ski coat, but I had to try it on because it is a very cute coat otherwise.

great jacket!
I live in wyoming and the winter here is the worst, and I needed a warm jacket that will prepare me for that. After I read many reviews about this jacket, I decided to get the vintage white in medium. I am 5'3, 115, and usually wear a small, but since this jacket do run short, I decided to get the medium, and it fits perfect. It covers my waste and it doesn't look huge on me. The color is not true white, it's more like a ivory, creme color, which is not bad either, and for it being $100 less than the original price, it's a great deal. i would definitely suggest it to anybody!

I recently purchased this jacket as a late Christmas/early birthday present for my daughter. Although she hasn't had a chance to wear it yet, she loves it. The fit is perfect. The color (Tanzanian tan) is absolutely beautiful. No one else in her school has that color or style. I think that's why she like it.

Great coat!
Just got this jacket today and I am thrilled... I got it in Tanzania Tan, the gold color. It is lightweight but so warm and the fur hood is adorable. Definitely recommend!

I purchased asphalt grey in size small. It's really warm and the color is gorgeous. But it's really big on me. I'm 5'4 and 118 lbs. The jacket looks really baggy on me. Other than the size problem, this jacket is great for warmth and styling!

think the jacket is great. i ordered a small (i am 5'4", 110lbs), but it felt a little small when wearing a sweater underneath. plus i like to feel roomy in my jackts. felt tight across the shoulders. so...i returned it. would have ordered next size up but they were sold out in the color i wanted. the jacket is well made, warm and has style.

Comfy, Cozy, Practical, and Fashionable
I love the fact that the jacket has removable fur. I would recommend this jacket to anyone that likes to stay warm and look good at the same time. Also, no extra layers are needed if in 30 degrees or higher. Furthermore, the pockets keep hands very warm and the linings are soft. All in all, it was a great purchase.

You definitely get what you pay for. I bought this jacket in dire need of a winter jacket to keep me warm walking a mile+ to work before the sun rises in single-digit temperatures. This jacket is incredibly warm, the down hood makes all the difference when that wind is biting. When zipped all the way up, it covers most of the face too. However, it's not a long jacket, and it leaves the waist and butt etc. exposed to the elements. Other than that, this is the nicest winter jacket I've ever owned. Furthermore, it turns heads ;)

A great looking coat that is functional and fits well, a winner. I was looking for a warm winter coat that would also look great and fashionable. The moderately shiny appearance of the fabric allows you to dress it up a bit and wear this coat with a lot of different looks...dressed down or up a bit.

Fantastic Coat

Awesome jacket!
It looks great AND is extremely warm. I ordered the one in vintage white since they ran out of the other colors but I actually ended up loving its color - it's really not that white, which is nice b/c my jackets always get dirty. I definitely definitely recommend this jacket!

Toasty and Stylish
I looked at alot of coats and could not find the right one. This coat is perfect..and very warm. It is short, but with the cuff at the waist it holds in place just fine. I do wish the hood came off, but at least it is adjustable and the fur comes off if you want. If your hands get cold just shove them in the pockets and they heat right up. Really great buy.

I would purchase this jacket again
I purchased this jacket for my teenage daughter. It has kept her warm in subzero wind chills yet been comfortable in 50 degree weather. The Gotham has ample room in the arms and body for layering yet has a sleek look. Thrilled with this jacket!

Great Jacket!!!!
Ilove my Gotham Jacket. It is very comfortable and warm. I tried the Tempest Down jacket it was very stiff and not at all comfortable. the Gotham Jacklet is now my most favorite of all the jackets I own. I live in Chicago and the weather here has had a wind chill of -15 this week. I was very warm in my jacket!!!!

To short
This coat is super warm and would be heaven if it was just a bit longer. I have to pull it down in the back when I sit down. I also have the complaint about the cuffs that others have posted...the fabric doesn't hold up well. For the money, I'm a bit disappointed.

This jacket is toasty warm and holds up well during the coldest New York City days. However, it is a little bulky and the hood does not detach, which makes it less fashionable than it could be. It will definitely protect you from the elements though!

Great coat, but too short
I wanted to love this jacket!! Maybe I should have gotten a small. I am 5'6" and ~110 lbs and the extra-small was just too short and I would have had to keep pulling it down. I think that's partially the style, that it's hip and more cropped than the usual parka, but I need tummy coverage in the cold weather...and in other weather, for that matter. Am going to give the Nuptse a try. Altrec was awesome!!

Doesn't fit well around the chest
I love northface jackets and I purchased this one and I love the looks of it, but even one size up doesn't fit around my chest. Are they shrinking this area for people who need a little more room? I never had this problem before.

I just received my North Face Gotham Jacket in black today and I love it! It is so warm, and the down is so soft. I also love the fur on the hood, and if you don't like the first after a few years, you can easily take it off with a zipper. I am 5 foot 4 inches and about 120 pounds and I ordered the Small, and it is perfect for me. There is even enough room to wear a bulky sweater or a sweatshirt and it still wouldn't be too tight. Overall, this is a GREAT product. LOVE ITTT!

I would love the jacket more if ....
..it wasn't for this one little functional flaw. The velcro along the zipper snags and pulls on the knitted cuff of my left sleeve when I go to zip and unzip my jacket. This annoys me greatly because I would think North Face would be more thoughtful in their product design.
