Description

Why settle for a unisex commuter backpack or book bag when you can enjoy the perfect fit of The North Face Recon Laptop Backpack for women? Sized to accommodate most laptop computers with a 15-inch or smaller screen, this women's Recon Laptop Backpack is ideal for frequent trips between school, campus and work. The North Face optimized the suspension to fit narrower shoulders far better than unisex daypack offerings. Along the base of the Recon is an angled bottom panel that helps transfer the pack load up to the shoulders and away from your neck and lower back—two problem areas commonly associated with poorly fitted packs. The exterior mesh compartment stretches out to accommodate a cycling helmet while the interior has plenty of room for several notebooks or books along with your laptop computer. The Women's Recon Backpack also features a hydration tube clip and port, so you can swap out your laptop for a hydration reservoir (hydration system not included) when it's finally time to enjoy the weekend.

Great product for day hiking
February 14, 2012

Bought this backpack for my wife and she loves it! It well made, with lots of pockets and very light. I have a Recon men size and this one is a little smaller. But it is capable to hold all you need for a day hiking. We will use it to our Spain trip. The North Face product quality is amazing! I recommend it to all!

Great Backpack
January 31, 2012

I purchased this backpack for my walking commute (about 10 blocks) to work. This backpack is has a great design for women and a significant amount of padding which provides great support. The large pocket has enough room to allow for my lunch, shoes, wallet, and work folders. The medium pocket fits all of my supplies (trains schedule, pens, kleenex, etc.). It's nice to have the front pouch to toss things in quickly or have easy access to. There is a small zipper pouch between that is not very deep, which I have found to be perfect for things like your bus/train pass. Overall I am very pleased with the design of this backpack. They have thought of everything a women would like/need in a backpack. I debated between this backpack and the women's surge and am glad I went this route due to the pocket design.

Pros: Great design, Ease of use, Great value

Good Pick
September 18, 2011

This backpack is super comfortable and looks nice. LOTS OF SPACE I had to duct tape parts of the bag in the inside to make it look smaller cause it's fricken HUGEEE. I have a small torso so it makes me look like a turtle. I wish it was smaller... But it's still a cool bag. I bought the Squid Red bag but it doesn't look like the one in the picture... The pink is super bright coral, I'm fine with that, but the maroon color is more of a brownish purple red...

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use
Cons: turtle status, colors aren't accurate

Great Backpack
July 18, 2011

I bought this backpack after shopping around and trying on many other brands and styles. The fit is designed for a woman and felt very comfortable on me. I used this backpack as a travel daypack for a trip to Alaska and it worked out well. I was able to use it as a "personal" carry-on item on the airlines, which was important to me.

Pros: Great design

Great Backpack
July 08, 2011

i love this backpack. The color (green and pink) is awesome... Super bright and girly:) I have a MacBook pro 15inch and it fits perfect in the laptop compartment. I use it mainly for school and it fits all my books, binders and other random stuff great. The one thing I would change about the bag is the chemise on the back and straps... It pills and snags easily. You can always get the unisex version which has mesh instead:)

Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use
Cons: Wears quickly
Durability: 4 / 5
Quality: 5 / 5

Lots of storage!

Enough room to carry around my laptop, notebooks, and a textbook or two. I really like the mesh pocket on the outside that I can use to lug around my sneakers for the gym!

College backpack
February 02, 2011

I tried other backpacks, before selecting this one. It is light weight, but holds so much, including my 15 inch laptop, that I still have room for more textbooks! The color is great & the fit is perfect for a female. Finally, my back does not hurt. I am not sure about the mesh front pocket. With all of the rain and snow we get at my college, there is not much I can put in there without it getting drenched. Still, I would highly recommend this great backpack. Also, thanks Altrec for your great customer service.

So Far, so Good
January 07, 2011

I purchased the Recon Daypack as an upgrade to my Borealis Daypack that IÂ’ve had for over six years. So far, I am very pleased with the Recon Daypack. It has a great design, allowing me to carry my laptop and heavy college books around campus with room to spare. Recon features durable zippers, large compartments, lots of organizational pockets, and reflective tape, which comes in handy on those dark nights. Overall, I am glad that I have decided to upgrade to this model. The North Face products are of great quality.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
