This is a great, compact jacket that can be used in transitional weather. Despite its light weight, it offers warm insulation and protects well from the wind (although it may not be substantial enough in very cold conditions). It also provides a nice, slim fit without looking bulky.

This jacket is the greatest. Great for most types of weather, though not for the coldest conditions. Live in Seattle, WA and I have found this coat great for all of my outdoor adventures all year round. Thanks North Face! P.S. Love the style - endless compliments when I wear it. :] Always a plus!

Comfortable, light and definitely easy to travel with. Mine's definitely gonna be one that's usable whole year through. For a sexier, more hugging fit, get one size down.

This jacket is nice and light but very warm and comfortable. I got the white color and it looks great although I don't really like the pattern of the seams. Even after being in heavy snowfall for half an hour I still felt warm (even though my head was covered in snow). It is totally waterproof as well as snow proof. A great buy and is definitely worth the money.

I just received the jacket today and it looks great. What you see is what you get just like the picture. It does seems a little big but is fine since the colder day when you bundle up will be perfect.

This is a good jacket; very light, soft, comfortable and it zips up easily because of the high quality zipper. Would like to see it tailored slightly more for a woman though. However, overall its fine.

I'm 5'9", and the medium jacket fits me perfectly with a little extra room for layering. It's light enough to carry around or stuff in a backpack. I originally bought it for spring skiing, but I wear it almost everyday. It's perfect for the ever changing micro-climates in Northern California - fog, rain, wind and sun.

This jacket is not bulky, very light weight. I ordered the pink and it was very, very bright. Personally, I would like a different color but that's it.

This jacket was a great purchase. The pink color is really cute and I get a lot of compliments on it. Although the jacket is very thin it has kept me warm in very cold temperatures. It is nice to have a warm jacket that is not so bulky.

The first time I tried on this jacket after it arrived, I didn't want to take it off! It is extremely soft and warm for being so lightweight. Purchased a size large (I'm a size 10/12, bigger in the hips), and it was flattering... great length, and not too tight or too loose. The Captiva Pink is very pretty as well. Unfortunately, there was a small tear on the front of the jacket when I received it... so I didn't wear it on the mountain and therefore can't comment on performance. Will exchange it for something more durable, but am very sad because this one was so darn cute! Still 4 stars for fit/comfort, great pockets, and appearance.

my first north face jacket. made with great quality. there's an outer left breast pocket and an internal right breast pocket to hide valuables. linings are super soft (micro fiber-like material) if only they made it in an ivory color, it would be absolutely perfect. elastic sleeves and waist draw strings help keep hair out.

Thanks for having such a great jacket! It really works against the cold weather. When wearing it the only thing getting the cold are your legs:) We have 2 of the jackets and both of my daughters are very pleased with them. I just couldn't believe that it stopped the cold air like they said, so I had a trial run with one of them and they were right!!!

Great weight for Alabama weather. Purchased to take on my trip to Alaska. Have totally enjoyed it . I also was very surprised on the warmth it gives. It allows me to layer well depending on the weather and climate. I know that I will be enjoying it for a long time. Thanks!

I love the jacket for its versatility. This jacket seems to run a little bigger in the waist than I had hoped.. however it does allow for great layering. A great quality jacket for a great price

Much better than I expected. So nice and soft on the inside AND outside. And the rain just rolls right off the exterior, no penetration even after being in the heavy rain for over 10 minutes. Insulation is thin as advertised but surprisingly keeps you warm even in the near-freezing temperatures.

This jacket is thin but warm and layers great. It's a tad longer than I expected, but that's not a big deal. It's going to be one of my main layering pieces this winter.

I got this jacket for my girlfriend for skiing because she can never stay warm. She already loves the warmth it prduces for such a thin layer. The only downfall is that they seem to run a little big.

There aren't too many insulated jackets out there that keep you warm without making you look like a marshmallow. this is the answer. it isn't too puffy, yet it holds in heat like down. make sure you get the right size.
