Disappointing
May 11, 2013

The coat fit a bit snug, but the deal breaker is the hood doesnt cover your head properly. It needs a rim on it and it doesnt have it. Bad job on the design NorthFace. The zipper also snags alot and is too long for the coat to be used comfortably. Its going back.

Cons: Bad design

North Face Stella Grace Jacket
March 04, 2011

March 4, 2011 The Stella Grace jacket is perfect for transitional weather and is simple and elegant with great features. I live in Chicago and will start wearing mine now. I am 5'3" and 110lbs. I ordered the small in black. The size fits me perfectly and gives me room for a light sweater if needed. This jacket has a lot of class, is very sharp looking and comfortable - form fitted, not boxy and the length is perfect. The zip pockets are roomy and the detachable hood is a good size for those rain days. I also like the belt to define the waistline. The zipper on the cuff is a nice detail. This jacket keeps me dry without giving up style - can go from day to evening. The front zipper can be worn zipped all the way up or can be left open at the neck. After endless shopping for the perfect jacket, the Stella Grace really makes a statement with all the features I wanted. Very happy with this jacket. I also recommend the Transit and Metropolis down coats from The North Face. I own each in both black and vintage white, size small. They get me through the winter's in Chicago. Don't be afraid of the vintage white - it is beautiful and they are all machine washable. The collars keep my neck warm when zipped all the way up. They are very lightweight, and comfortable with roomy zip pockets and detachable hoods. These coats are also form fitted to keep you toasty warm and dry without the bulk. The sleeves narrow at the wrist to keep the cold out. Comfortable while driving and you can get in and out of the car with ease. Love, love these coats. Thank you North Face for making stylish, durable jackets that can be worn year after year without looking outdated. Ordering from Altrec is always a good experience with quick delivery and reliability. There is always a good variety of color choices and sizes available. I also like the idea that I can track my puchases.

Loved Jacket, Hated Color
August 29, 2012

This coat is great and looked really attractive on. It has a lot of really nice features. But I returned it, because when I ordered it, the color was called a gray, when I got it, the jacket is ivory. Not even remotely gray. I did not want an ivory coat that would have to be washed every time I wore it. I loved it and hated to send it back. Will try to wait and get a black or gray one on sale. It's a super coat but not worth paying full price for in my opinion but if you can get it on sale go for it.

Classy Rain Jacket
November 03, 2012

I've been looking for a rain jacket that I could wear when it's raining and I have nicer clothes on or going out for the evening ! This jacket hits at the knee and has an adorable waist belt that you can tie to make a cute fitted look! It's an off white color, (creamish) so you can wear it with blacks or browns. Great arm length, and a hood if you need it! I'm so happy with this jacket and it serves two purposes....not getting wet and looking cute in the rain! I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use

Perfect rain jacket!
April 26, 2012

I have been looking for a rain jacket that I can wear both to work at outdoors. This is it! I shopped around and initially was going to purchase the Columbia Dusk2Dawn jacket but decided against it after I read the reviews for this jacket! I'm glad I got this! Since I received the jacket, it has been raining (the whole week - everyday), which allowed me to test the jacket. I live in Melbourne Australia and we have been having 13-15 °C temperatures over the last week. I have been using the jacket to bring the dog for walks and we got caught in the rain a couple of times. I was DRY! The only downside of the jacket is that I do not feel it provides a lot of wind protection and is not very breathable, but I dont mind as I can layer. I have another TNF jacket that I wear a S but I got this in a M after I read the reviews. It's perfect, which allows me to layer if I need to! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a rain jacket.

Pros: Ease of use, Great design, Build quality, Performance

Very happy with my purchase!
March 30, 2011

This jacket was a great buy - totally functional but still fashionable. I have been able to wear it over suits for work as well as to a soccer game where our seats were in the rain. I usually wear small/medium sizes and I purchased the medium in this jacket. I am glad I did b/c the sleeves are on the slender side and the medium leaves room for a sweater or jacket underneath. The zipper was a little hard to operate the first few times I wore it, but it seems to have loosened up over time. While the jacket was a little pricey, I am very happy with it and highly recommend it.

This is an attractive coat with feminine styling. Great raincoat for casual to fairly dressed up look. Not heavy although you would need to add layer underneath in cold weather.

Most future-mod weatherproof
March 04, 2013

The moment my arm slipped into its sleeve, anxiety dissolved. Dank, bone-chilling shivers became ghosts of past storm-spattered days. The jacket makes me feel part cosmopolitan mad-scientist, part space-age private-eye, and arrived a day earlier than the predicted delivery day!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, cost, speedy delivery

A Flattering & Functional Rain Coat!
November 08, 2010

This jacket has been a great investment. I'd been searching for a functional, hooded rain jacket that will keep me dry all day at the fields while my kids play sports, but I didn't want a big shapeless yellow slicker. The fitted silhouette and belted waist make the Stella Grace Jacket more flattering than most rain coats. Because it's long, fitted and black, it looks great with jeans or with the clothes I wear to work. It's not insulated, so it's not warm, but it's more versatile that way because you can wear appropriate layers underneath to adjust for the outside temperature. I live in the Northeast and it's been raining several times a week since this jacket arrived, so it's already gotten plenty of use. Another bonus: it's $100 less than a similar Patagonia rain jacket I was considering.
